Read up to latest release (chapter 65). very nice novel i must say. the pacing is very nice, it's like a slice of life without the boredom and cliche chapters. the mc starts out dumb but goes from an idiot to smart in a very nice and believable manner. 10/10 for this masterpiece. just sad it doesn't have enough chapters yet. :(The action scenes are also awesome and fun to read.
I was just curious and got hooked. Great story, character development, pacing is a little slow at the beginning, since it is a robot learning about awareness, but a great read nevertheless.

Not really a good novel in case that you are thinking while reading. But if you go on brain off mode, I think it is alright. After reading the first 10 chapters I noticed that the mc did not have any personality. His plot armour is off the charts. SpoilerHe was "randomly" chosen to merry the princess out of probably 10 million others (china kingdoms had a lot of population) There is a lot of detailed information, which is generic knowledge to us but the mc has to say it, so he can appear smart. I do not know why this novel has such a low score. The plot smoothly immerses us in the story of a dude who has been experiencing the same day for 1000 years. Of course, this "golden finger" looks rather out of place, but, in principle, if we assume a single convention, then the plot looks amazing. It is a good novel. MC is kinda overpowered, the story is okey plotwise (I have very high standars, so it can also be translated as good, this is only within the genre), there is harem but the mc is really trying to win over the females insted of just lusting, he is searching for love... kinda (he already has f#cked more than 10.000 women in his 1000 years so he doesn't just want to f#ck). The mc is ruthless, he doesn't give a shit usually, he is multitalented, very calm and a bit logical but you can also say he doesn't give a f#ck even for his life. Not that he wants to die, it just that he has experienced so much..... This novel is to read it and have fun with it, what I mean is, do not try to overthink situations, turn off your brain and speed read it. At the start, the pacing is very fast (one situation after another), but it slows down later on. I really reccomend to read it. I will put it into the list to read via MTL, hopefully it is not royally f#cked. All this till chapter 29.

It's impossible to have a harem without also treating women like they are second class citizens. There are male traits and there are female traits. Sexism(social perception) does not decide the value of a person rather their competency. How well someone can fight, make money, take risk, take care of their beauty wins in life.
Sexism is not about equality of ability, it's about equality of treatment. The modern world is built around a moral philosophy that all people, regardless of their gender, race, religion, etc, should be given the same basic rights. Some people are very resistant to this philosophy (racists, sexists, homophobes, religious zealots, etc), and might happily regress society back to a time where power and wealth dictate morality. A cultivation world is an extreme example of that kind of regressive amoral society. In such a world, power dictates everything. It's natural that harems will exist in such a world, just as it's natural that murdering people can happen almost without consequence as long as the murderer comes from a powerful-enough background. These types of worlds are dystopias for all but the most powerful people. In general, almost any setting where harems are a common practice are amoral distopias. (It's not just women who tend to suffer in those societies.) If your own sense of morality is built upon the belief that such social structures should be normal, I hope you can re-evaluate it. Because, if nothing else, what you're idolizing is a world where your likely fate is not to be the person with power, but rather to be a poor commoner, or serf, or slave, or a cannon fodder soldier, or heretic, or criminal. The fate of a normal person is to suffer in a society where power and "competence" dictates a person's rights.
Where do treatment towards someone come from? Do people behave without any motive? A girl who has a friendly personality is more sought out, a guy wearing expensive clothes is the same, familial relationship, emotional buddy and playmate. The way we treat and behave towards someone is because of their worth to us.Historically women stayed at home more, were safe from the dangers of hunting. A man might not come back from his hunt. The dangers a man took was far greater and subsequenttially the man was revered/valued more. This treatment isn't sexism.In the modern work-life, a man doesn't need several types of leaves and can overwork till late. A women can't/doesn't provide the same. Therefore, a man is more valued as a workforce in certain fields. This isn't sexism but truth.Likewise sexism, the way we treat others didn't come from malice but the historical environment. Currently women are being integrated in intellectual workforce. When women become competent enough, they would be valued just as men. Therefore, in real world or in a cultivation world, if women can provide more value, they'd be treated better.Modern law may have solved murder, robbery to some extent. But the truth of the society is still there. You can lobby for the decision of the court to be in your favor. Also, people die from various 'natural' reasons all the time. Business is just a scamming technique. This is modern world. The only good thing of modern world is, you are less likely to die. And the slim chance of me being rich and powerful, is true. But just because I'll be a cannon fodder doesn't mean I want die in ignorance and delusion. I'd rather know the unpleasant truth and face it head on. After all, not knowing unpleasant truths won't make it disappear.
If you seriously think modern society is anything like feudal society, you are delusional. You have access to the internet and libraries. You rely on regulations that dictate how streets are maintained, how cars are manufactured, how buildings are constructed, on how your job may treat you, on whether the supermarket can sell you unsafe food, etc. You are guaranteed some level of medical care, some level of sustenance, some level of police protection, regardless of your wealth and social standing. You can be safe and comfortable, with most of your basic needs met because of the post-Enlightenment philosophy that all people should have basic rights. If you truly believe that your life is anything like those of people living in ancient times, that is delusional. Sure, society is not perfect. And people can still suffer and die. But it is far from as bad as it has been throughout history. And the modern life you live goes hand-in-hand with the modern philosophy it was built around -- including the philosophy that women should have the same rights as men.You do not live in a society where you can have a harem, unless you happen to live in a part of the world where basic civil rights are not guaranteed for all people.
Discussion cannot happen against faith. And you either don't know the dark side of the world or pretending that it doesn't exist. Honestly if the world was such an utopia I would love to live there.
Do not let the comments discourage you, although this novel is not excellent, it is not bad either, it has its parts entertaining and the interaction of the characters does not feel forced

While there are many excellent FMCs is quite rare to find them in midst of the sea of eternally crying girls, pitiful dolls that exist just to attract the male leads (that are always full generic copy-paste of some other work character), or the 'you are a girl, so you can't' troupe.The good part is that the works with good FMCs tend to be damn amazing. To me, 'Kumo desu ga, nani ka?' and the novels from Vihyungrang (Royalroad) like Lament of the Fallen, are just amazing.
Kumo desu ga, nani ka not only did female mc really well, but they also did the male to female side character really well too rather than just make it a joke, which is always surprising. Surprise, some jokes, then acceptance and not really bringing it up too many times, like what'd realistically happen.

I liked it. It's a pretty straightforward story when you can sometimes predict what will happen but it's interesting to read how dungeon designs it's rooms and how people interact with them.

But sadly author only posts once per week and the chapters are only little longer than average chapters of other novels (2,8k words), and from the last chapter I read (currently 10 chapters away from the up to date but still it took 2 months) it doesnt look like it will end like korean novels with 200 ish chapter so the author probably plannig to do 500+ but just to get to 500 chapter with the current pace it will take 6+ years. This is top tier xianxia. Before this, I recommend Coiling Dragon Ring Saga for newbies as even though it's not the best, it's "classic" cultivation story and is a decent enough introduction. But now, I recommend this, the only bad part about this is that it's not yet complete.I wouldn't exactly recommend this to veteran readers tho, but if you do plan to read it, it shouldn't be low in your priority, maybe mid or part of the next 3 books you'll read.
is Coiling Dragon really that good? I started with AWE and when I tried to get into Coiling Dragon a couple months after being into the genre, I just couldn't.
Coiling isn't good, it isn't bad either. I think the reason why it's recommended and respected is because it's one of the first titles to get translated. It's also one of the first that set a trend basically. If you've watched Nausicaa (really old Hayao Miyazaki film) it's the same logic, that film isn't good or bad (well, it's pretty decent) but that's because a lot of films already refined the formula that Nausicaa created and improved on it. TL;DR: Coiling dragon is decent and you gotta give it props for being old but still holding up better than a lot of other xianxia. There's also the fact that it's a decent execution of the xianxia formula that it's a good enough recommendation for those who are just starting to read xianxia web novels.
Excellently written, you can tell it's not a translated novel. What I like most about this novel is the character development and meaningful interactions between the MC and other characters. In many CN translated novels all side characters are just foils to show the MC's excellence, but here, they really do stand out and have relevance. This isn't an OP face-slap type of novel, it's almost basically coming-of-age cultivation novel so far. 4.7/5
Quite good i say! At start it seems no different than any other novels but it is quite nice read. 5/5 from my side no complaint about this novel.
starts out really cool but later on turns meh. his love interest right now is really weird and unfounded. the biggest issue i have is that he really doesnt act like his age suggests and is weirdly more naive after the big event happens. the world also doesnt seem to be that deep. another generic existential crisis in a fight against "demons" where the demons are fewer in numbers but have higher talent. an issue that isnt related to the plot is release rate and overal plot progression. as it is right now it will take a least a few years for the story to finish.

I mean, if I take a shot every time "Imperial Terrorist" is mentioned, I will be dead drunk. The main character is both weak and irritating, with numerous pointless dialogues among the 13-year-olds. However it does only have 27 chapters so it's pretty negligible.I'd say it's a solid 3 stars. Really good novel with a proper lawful good good-oriented MC, around the age of 15... Don't expect too much OPness, at least in the beginning, and also no Xianxia cultivation-like character who only cares about 'benefits'. The book is a modern novel, with modern mindset characters and a proper story. The majority of ranobes audience won't like this, saying how MC is weak, or how there is no big-brain giga Chad planning and scheming. This novel is NOT of that genre. Think more along the lines of a slice-of-life action novel. Superhero dynamics has been overhyped by the intro and doesn't play much role, YET... Will have more focus in the future but more largescale things are happening than Earth's superhero dynamic. Give it a try, its along the lines of Mother of Learning and The Wandering Inn. One of my fav books rn.PS- free to read on Royal Road, books pirated here may have formatting issue as well as typos which were later fixed by author.
This to say this not a trash, "read cause I'm bored and need filler novel". This is potentially a future great. While you might want to let it cook for a while longer (despite it being ~1000 pages already) .when you do get around to it I think you will greatly enjoy it. To be prepared though its a slowburner so don't expect anything approaching instant gratification or constant "numbers going up" styled goings on. Instead you can expect a coherently crafted world, and challenges to the characters that leave behind realistic scars and consequences. Not to say the story is grimdark or emo, but much like say, The Wandering Inn, those tragedies, and sadness are as much a part of the human condition as the happy, or diligently training ones, and thus also present in the novel as appropriate to telling a compelling Story.

Big meh novel. Only read to 24 and while it has potential, it’s been fairly boring so far. MC has little power, and little ability to gain power. Could see the author trying to leverage his niche abilities into OPness but it’s a stretch. Plus, state of MC and worldbuilding goes against general Ranobe enjoyment.SpoilerModern-day superhero story, except that in universe earth essentially signed over the planet to be slaves to an alien empire. Earth is called a “resource planet”, the system essentially provides access to abilities that aliens grant, and you gain super powers by signing yourself over as what could be generously described as “indentured servants”. The powers granted are only so the individual is of more use to the aliens. MC get the job of “Rabbit” which is named after the aliens cute, helpful pets. It’s a class that provides essentially servant staff abilities. The power to fold napkins better, set cutlery, etc. In exchange for those powers, MC is on call 24/7 to be summoned by his alien master who will use him to complete whatever job they want and send him off with some “currency” (not valuable to them only to humans). MC has no agency in his servitude, and the aliens barely treat them like people.
Spoiler So what’s the point of getting powers are they fighting the aliens or doing anything if he wants to be a sidekick it means there hero’s and hero’s imply villains so what’s the deal?
Spoilerhumans are so worthless to the aliens they don’t care what they do on Earth, only that they act properly when summoned (which is without warning at any time). So a bunch of “supers” who want to be villainous just act as villains on Earth.
SpoilerTechnically there is a warning. For other non Rabbit classes, it's usually around a day or two, or at least a couple of hours if i remember correctly. It's just that Rabbits have a shitty 45 second pre summoning warning. Chapter 31 even shows how another Rabbit class first got summoned while they were taking a bath and didn't even have time to change into proper clothes. As always, i must declare that my reading comprehension is worse than a 2 year old toddler so correct me if i misunderstood the comment

Now this threat isnt so serious anymore so the new planets are allowed to do whatever they want as long as they are willing to be summoned in emergencies or as employement, (for which they get paid) so it isnt really a slavery but at the same time there are no takebacks

I will just copy review from novelupdates that can majorly describe how I feel about this novel:If I were to sum it up with one sentence, it isn't as bad as it first seems, but it also doesn't work hard to get good.It's basically a Chinese novel written like a Japanese would (but obviously with Chinese flavor, you know, face slapping and the like). It's basically a beta male + harem + fantasy + transmigration.In general, the protagonist is so dense that it's funny. Yes, just funny. At first you get annoyed with him, but if you endure it for 2-3 volumes, you just laugh at the ret*rd. Well, at some point the narration alluded to some past events that made him subconsciously reject all possibilities that someone may like him, etc., but he's still so very dense he should be capable of using black hole attacks. The explanation doesn't fully cover this, so the protagonist isn't really excused all that much.Other than that, the protagonist is okay at first glance, but annoying in the long run. He's a goody-two-shoes, and it's especially annoying when he interacts with some female characters: they're gonna act like a stuck-up b*tch, and he's going to laugh foolishly and let them step all over him or something. There's literally only one chick that's excused for acting like this because she's mental (literally, schizophrenia and more), but the rest is just annoying together with the even more annoying protagonist

At chapter 400, this is a slow burn one that is at very low heat and is set to cook for the next day(week), a really good read, powers and enemies get kinda repetative and easily predicted there is some innovative power usage but when that is done he just uses that Innovation until the next innovative idea. Would recommend if you've got the time to sit through some honestly mind numbing shit but if so go ahead

Is it worth reading? Sure. However, this is just a wishful story or a "fairy tail". This isn't really a cultivation LN. Things happen because they author says they happen not really due to rules of common sense or rules of cultivation and levels of power, they just "are". This is like a bedtime story you tell at bedtime.... It doesn't go very deep into the cultivation nor does i go deep into how the magic works. It has some depth into how magic works, but at the same time it seems to be completely ignored and at times you really wonder if that was even a spell or just the author claiming it's a spell. The MC goes up against monsters and the author never tells you what their power level is. Then the MC goes into a dungeon like place (old hidden ruins) that have all these monsters in there that should probably be powerful, but once again no power levels are ever mentioned, yet the very weak MC kills them without issues....SpoilerIn the old hidden ruins they find out that they were the ruins of a very advanced civilisation that specialized in mind magic, one of the tree magics the MC has a specialty in. All the knowledge of mind magic is horded away by the emperor and his family of mind mages and they don't allow other mind mages to really advance in real mind magic. So the MC decides to destroy EVERYTHING because the ruins old residence did a large amount of their research on unethical ways to use mind magic. The MC did not spend time searching for mind magic teachings and spells and training in the ruins at all.... No one outside of this crappy countries emperor has any real knowledge of mind magic and it's spells and they won't teach anyone that information nor their spells. Lets just destroy all of this FREE knowledge and not learn stuff that even the emperor of this crappy country probably doesn't know.. He doesn't have to use the stuff he finds to be unethical. There is so much more there than this unethical knowledge, but he just goes ahead and destroys it all..... This MC is stupid...
Great story. Before listening to the reviews saying it's bad, at least read the first 30 chapters and then make your decision.
All I can say is that this is a fantastic novel, I wish I had a better word, because the charm of this novel is wonderful, in the final chapter of 'B3' I could only shiver with excitement And anxiety, mark my words, it's going to be one of the soap operas that your mind won't have a choice in if you don't follow it, it may seem silly at first, but the more you go on, the more eager you are to see what the
Initially the storyline is ok....but it become bad, after the story is told in third person point of view it lacks character interaction it is all in narrative and spell formula is lacking, it says inscribed/inscription correct me if I'm wrong, inscribing the core with a spell is the way to breakthrough to become a True mage but what should be inscribed, there is nothing should they just inscribed intentions or inscribed geometric formula of the spell, runes, or letters....nah...it just so lacking . If you want for a pastime reading waiting for updates, then I recommend this novel but for serious Nah....just skip this one

When I wrote this review I was in chapter 44 SpoilerI have to say the author should stop calling these abilities of his spells, because there is no weaving of mana, no spell construct no manipulation of magic in anyway even the first two "spells" its was the same he should just call it an ability or skill matter of fact they should just give the MC a system because the way he is learning his spells is the same way people other novels with system get and level their skills by repeatedly doing the same thing till he gets a system message the only thing that's kind of unique nd is cool is the engraving of the "spell" in their core buts still I'm not happy... for that I'll give it a 2/5
Agreed. These "spells" don't even seem to be spells or magic in the normal sense of magic spells. As you said there never seems to be any weaving of magic or mana. The things that the author does is more like very limit or singular use of LAWS that you get in cultivation LNs. It is very oddly written. Really I really enjoy this novel, it's one of my favorites on the Royal Road and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I'm always on time to read the new chapters. My comment is not a recommendation but I urge you to read this book. The author is a good friend of mine and he does illustrations of each character and they're pretty descriptive. Everyone who says that it sucks try at least to read half of the present chapters

The characters are forced, not smart or intelligent.In the empire that mc is, elemental mages (fire, water, earth and wind) are more valuable, only because they are the majority and have further developed their techniques.Minor spoiler cap 5 where mc awakened / discovered your elements.Elements: SpoilerBlood, Mind and SpaceYeah, after of you know the elements, know that happens? MC is treated like crap and starts the famous bullying ARC. Anyone knows that the elements of mc are strong and have countless possibilities, but still, the author wants to make the ARC of bullying in his story and tries to give unconvincing reasons for mc to be treated like this.I don't know if the novel gets better later on, but I can't get past the beginning of it.
Wdym forced and unconvincing?There are plenty or reasons why Mc gets shunned and bullied and people don't think his elements are good. To start the elements he uses are employed by enemies of the empire and the earth, wind, fire, and water clans actively make it so that other elements are shunned and those with strong bloodlines of other elements are killed so they don't form their own great clans. Wdym " Anyone knows that the elements of Mc are strong and have countless possibilities"? No, not everyone in the setting knows that. You and I might know that his elements are strong with our modern day knowledge and knowledge of other novels and the fact that Mc is going to become strong in the future but in the setting the people don't know for very obvious reasons. Not just that but having a tri or dual affinity is usually a bad thing in the setting, and in the setting they haven't perfected knowledge of magic.All of his elements have limiting factors. One is strictly controlled by the royal faction and barely anything is taught about it, another is used by an enemy empire and spells aren't taught for it in the empire and it is also shunned because it is used by the enemies who are at war with the empire (his teacher at the acadmy literally treats it like a curse to have the element), and the other is expensive and not strong at lower levels as its easily counterable. Not just that but he is a commoner, with a tri affinity which is also looked down on, and only has elements that are looked down on. They all seem rather convincing reasons for the bulling and fit the setting of the story.

It's impossible for the enemy empire not have others elements and only Blood, like earth, wind, fire and water are basic elements. Other point, if it's your enemy main element, you need study and understand all yours skills or abilities to win wars, and not ostracize all peoples in your empire who has this element.- Element space no good? Congratulations friend! You have succefully ignored one of the first plot points used by the author!Yes, the discrimination based on cores is cliche as hell, true. But the author makes a whole construction of the why, how it came to be, and the merits and disadvantageof the structure based on the 4 elements.And the two main reasons for the bulling were quite simple too:First, he is a commoner-born. Second, he uses a 'secondary' element as main (Blood) and one used by one of their enemy nationsSpoilerMain Advantages of the 4 'Main/Primary' Elements:-More spells created-Easy to find resources (element/energy stones are created naturaly in a respective environment. Ocean/Lake produces water stone and such)-More definined personalities (it was latter theorised and almost confirmed to influence the attribute of the core)-Existent structure (the main elemental families of the Empire already have their respective places in their nation. Army, intelligence, defence, and more, making easier for people to find their path)Main Disadvantage:-Limited fighting style due to the existent structure and heritage-Too used in dealing with their fellow 4 elements, causing a glaring hole in the training of future soldiers/powerhouses (except for the elements used by the nations currently/formerly in war, like the Light/Darkness/Blood elements)-Lack of actual development in many fields unrelated to war due to the fixation with what they already have (funnily enough, this blocks them from improving their military as many things made for/by civilians may as well spark a whole change in technology)While the plot point is VERY cliche, I ended up quite impressioned with how well the author developed it as the world expanded.
