“Are the Ghouls they’re talking about the same kind we’ve encountered before?”
Duanmu Huai and Mary had seen Ghouls a few times before in the American Continent and Fog City – all of them were emaciated, resembling walking spider-shaped humans. It was indeed strange, albeit not much of a threat.
“Hmm… They seem to be somewhat different.”
Mary flipped through another page.
“They also sent a report on the Ghouls along with the letter—here it is.”
“Oh.”
Duanmu Huai reached out, took the report from Mary, and began to peruse it.
According to this investigation report, the Ghouls encountered in the Far East are starkly different from the ones Duanmu Huai and Mary had come across. The report claimed that these Ghouls were almost indistinguishable from humans in their day-to-day lives and didn’t show any obvious signs of being different. They were not sensitive to sunlight or ultraviolet light like vampires. They possessed physical qualities far superior to humans’ and their eyes would turn red – known as Kakugan – when they consumed food or used their abilities.
