What could he make? This thought resounded in everyone's mind. On the other hand, one chef took out some flour and started to make it. Fluid and agile. The trio had a clear objective in mind. So what does-
Keith finally made his move; in his hand were lily potatoes. Shing! In an instant, the potato's skins were peeled off! It was such a resounding speed.
"He cut those lily potatoes so easily."
"Those things are quite slippery."
"The way Keith held his knife..." Carolyn and the others blinked. A few adventurers noticed it as well. Assassin. The way Keith held his knife was like a thief or assassin. With the diced lily potatoes, he cracked a few eggs.
A flurry of motion.
Using the eggshell, he easily and swiftly separated the whites from the yolks. Pristine round yolks were in a bowl, none of them punctured.
With a snap of his fingers, he created a wind sphere, where the egg whites were tossed in, whipping them up.
"He's using magic!"
"Magic being incorporated into cooking?" That was unheard of. Most of the time, using magic in cooking would be starting a fire. But using other elements was unheard of.
Slowly, the egg whites fluffed up in the sphere.
An explosive dance. There was a flurry of motions occurring over at Keith's side. With this, no one had an idea of what Keith was cooking in this situation. But they could tell that he was having a difficult time. Despite what they thought,
This is the feeling! The feeling of euphoria. This sensation and this time ticking down made his skin tingle with delight. His focus only increased further. He grabbed some potatoes and sliced them paper thin.
His brain was in overdrive as he continued to think of the following motion before he had finished his action in hand. Once he was done with the thinly sliced potatoes, he started to layer them in a pan and into the oven.
Brain and the other chefs were working at their own pace. Brian then placed the meat on the pan to sear. The aroma slowly wafted from the pan for the audience to smell.
Someone gasped, "That's a variant!
Brian grinned. Today, he would go all out and use something he had never before. Getting a variant was something astronomical! However, it was worth it to beat him!
“And all the ingredients he had with it are rare too.” They were definitely on the same level as Keith’s ingredients. Carolyn and the others realized.
Despite the murmurs that happened on the side, Keith was still focused on his work and didn’t care about it all. He was so absorbed in his cooking to care about the variant in his hand.
“Do you guys know what Keith is making?” Coen then asked Carolyn and the others who lived on his island.
However, they shook their heads, “We didn’t even know his first idea.” That gameplay he had before was thrown out of the window. Keith was just doing things on the fly.
“But I can’t smell what he’s making right now.” Two dishes he had thrown into the oven were still locked in there. Olin scoffed, "That guy is keeping us on the edge of our seats."
The only thing they could do in this situation was to hope.
Finrandir questioned William, "Is he doing the usual?" This guy was his father. He should definitely know what he's doing.
"...No." William frowned while Sophia shook her head. However, he could tell his son was up to something. Excitement.
Garnish now. Once he finished the main components, it was time to work on the smaller ones. These were simple enough. With some beaten egg whites, he used his fire magic to torch the tips. Finally was the sauce.
"He's using a lot of eggs."
“We have more than five minutes left, chefs! It’s time to plate your items!” Lola shouted. Keith, Brian, and his chefs went into overdrive as they started to make their move, which made all of them surprised by how fast they moved! They went up a notch to do so!
“Times up!” Lola called out. The two groups finished with their food.
“Now let’s bring our judges out!” That was something everyone was quite interested in. There were quite a few familiar faces.
“Father?!” Muriel’s eyes widened when she saw it was none other than Virel being a judge, “Mother, what is going on?”
Arolina smiled, “Well, your father was asked by the headmaster to be one of the judges of this contest a few days ago. That’s why I’m here to watch.”
“Dammit! He should have asked us as well!” Julius and the two were screaming as they held their heads at this.
Thalia sighed, “If that was the case, then it wouldn’t have been fair.” Those three would have instantly voted for Keith without a question. Virel at least had the decency to be fair.
“And you think having Erwin and Cadmus up there is allowed?” There was something really wrong with this. Having those two on the panel was asking for trouble.
Cadmus stated, “We’ll be judging you all based on fairness, and you will have my word.” “Me too.”
“And we have the famous chef Baker.” By them was also an old gentleman who had a stern look as he stared at them.
