Chapter 85 - 85 85 Typical Schizophrenia

?Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Typical Schizophrenia Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Typical Schizophrenia Early Saturday morning, Zhu Qianying got up early and went to the kitchen to fix herself breakfast. She brought it out and had it together with her mother.

“Mom, come with me today,” Zhu Qianying proposed while eating her noodles.

Chen Jing hesitated, “Ah, forget about it. You young folks should be the ones taking the wedding photos. I have no business being there.”

Zhu Qianying tried to persuade her a few more times, but Chen Jing remained unmoved. Helplessly, Zhu Qianying packed her bag and went out on her own.

Zhu Qianying leisurely arrived at the gate; it was five minutes to eight. Outside, it was dead silent, not even a fly buzzing around, let alone vehicles.

At this point, Zhu Qianying sincerely hoped that Mr. Yan had forgotten about it or that something unexpected would crop up forcing him to postpone things again like last time.

However, the car that drove up punctually five minutes later shattered her hope.

The driver got out of the car, apparently ready to come around and open the door for her.

Zhu Qianying greeted him with a smile, “Good morning, sir driver,” she bent down and opened the back seat door herself.

Sitting in the backseat, was Mr. Yan, whom she hadn’t seen for a few days. Zhu Qianying still wore a smile on her face, “Good morning, Mr. Yan.”

Mr. Yan gave a slight nod, his gaze travelling from her face down to her feet, “What is your shoe size?”

Zhu Qianying was caught off guard. Regardless of why he was asking such a question, she promptly gave him the answer, “39.”

Once he got his answer, Mr. Yan ignored her and pulled out his phone to make a call, “Her shoe size is 39, have it prepared.”

It was at this point that Zhu Qianying remembered she hadn’t asked him what sort of preparation was needed on her end.

“Mr. Yan, I also have high heels at home. Shall I go back and get them?”

Zhu Qianying usually wore sneakers and didn’t think much about it when she got dressed to go out. She went out dressed as she usually would.

It wasn’t until now that she remembered that the sneakers wouldn’t go well with the wedding dress she was going to wear later.

Mr. Yan responded dismissively, “No need, I’ve already arranged for everything.”

If Zhu Qianying hadn’t mentioned it, Mr. Yan would’ve genuinely believed that her family didn’t own a pair of high heels.

It’s no wonder Mr. Yan thought so. Whenever Zhu Qianying met him, she’d either be in sneakers paired with jeans or flat shoes with ankle pants. The high heels and skirt combo seemed to be a totally foreign concept to her.

The two fell silent, making the atmosphere in the car eerily awkward.

Ordinarily, Zhu Qianying wouldn’t mind. However, considering that he had resumed his normal collaboration with the Xing’s family, she felt not to give him the cold shoulder.

So Zhu Qianying, who had been zoning out while staring out of the window, turned her attention back to him, “Mr. Yan, where are we going to take the wedding photos?”

This question was purely out of lack of anything better to say.

“You’ll know when we get there,” Mr. Yan seemed reluctant to share more, engrossed in his iPad.”

Upon seeing this, Zhu Qianying didn’t say anything more, pulling out her own mobile phone to surf the internet instead.

She noticed that her relationship with Mr. Yan was often a roller coaster, experiencing ups and downs. Just a few days ago, they were getting along better, but currently, it was as if they had regressed to square one.

Perhaps Mr. Yan had realized that her newfound friendliness was merely to gain favors from Xing Bailun and Qi Xiao. That’s why he simply played along with her.

Now that the game was over, wasn’t it only natural for everything to go back to how things used to be?

Once she realized this, Zhu Qianying continued surfing the internet without any burden in her heart until the car stopped at a large lawn. She put away her phone and got out of the car with Mr. Yan.

Upon getting out of the car and looking around, she was genuinely taken aback.

The location they were in was the West Suburban Racecourse, the exact spot where she was supposed to meet Xing Bailun and the others for horse riding.

Couldn’t be, right? What a coincidence.

“Do you know how to ride?” Having walked over to her, Mr. Yan asked his fourth question of the day.

“I do!” Zhu Qianying can ride, and she’s actually quite good at it.

Moreover, she met Xing Bailun because of her horse riding experience.

“I thought as much,” Mr. Yan’s comment didn’t make much sense.

However, Zhu Qianying didn’t bother to delve deeper into his words.

The more she interacted with Mr. Yan, the more she felt he was a typical case of split personality— his character and thoughts fluctuating all the time, making him rather unpredictable.

“We’re taking the wedding photos here today?”

At Zhu Qianying’s age, she didn’t have any experience with friends getting married. But from her general impression, shouldn’t romantic wedding photos be taken at places like the beach? Taking wedding photos at a sweat-inducing horse field, wouldn’t that seem disjointed?

“Indeed,”
Mr. Yan reverted to his reticent nature, answering her curtly and refraining from providing any further explanation.

Zhu Qianying wasn’t sure if she’d unknowingly upset Mr. Yan again, or if his moody behaviour was as cyclical as a woman’s period, occurring monthly, either on schedule or randomly.

No matter the reason, avoiding him seemed to be the best course of action.

The two walked shoulder to shoulder in silence. By now it was around 9 o’clock and the racecourse was slowly getting crowded. If Xing Bailun and the others stuck to their original plans, the chances of running into one another would be around 90%.

Her original intentions were not to hurt anyone, yet inadvertently, she used this most hurtful method to wound them.

“Mr. Yan, over here!”

Zhu Qianying was lost in her thoughts when she heard someone calling from afar. She looked toward the sound and saw several people standing in a small pavilion not far away; they were waving vigorously in her direction.

Mr. Yan quickened his pace. Zhu Qianying, while not being short herself, her strides seemed tiny compared to Mr. Yan’s long legs.

Mr. Yan walked extremely fast, showing no intentions of matching Zhu Qianying’s pace. She had to jog slightly to keep up with him. Fortunately, her regular exercise routine had served her well, allowing her to jog all the way to the pavilion, without breaking a sweat and with a look of nonchalance on her face.

“Mr. Yan, hello! And you must be Miss Zhu?”

Zhu Qianying extended her hand to the man carrying a camera, “Hello, I’m Zhu Qianying!”

“Hello, I’m Ah Jian. I’m your wedding photographer.”

After the introductions, Zhu Qianying was taken inside the RV parked next to the pavilion by the makeup artist to get her makeup done and put on the wedding dress.

Upon entering the RV, Zhu Qianying saw several sets of wedding dresses and suits hanging inside. Among them, two were familiar; they were the ones she had tried on at the Yan family’s dressing room the other day.

“Did Mr. Yan pick out all these wedding dresses?”

The makeup artist and her assistant looked surprised, “Miss Zhu, didn’t you and Mr. Yan choose these together?”

Zhu Qianying had to say, “I remember two of them, but I kind of forgot the rest. Anyway, the styles are quite similar, I can’t remember.”

The makeup artist laughed and acknowledged that it was understandable, “That’s right. You originally had an appointment but then had to reschedule unexpectedly. It’s been quite a few days since then so it’s normal to forget.”

Only then did Zhu Qianying find out that Mr. Yan had actually scheduled the photoshoot the last time but had to change the date due to the ruckus created by her dad and Zhu Junzhao.

Now it all made sense. His foul mood today must be because he was reminded about how her dad and Zhu Junzhao schemed against him?
