Chapter 359 - 359 359 Restless cant stay calm

?Chapter 359: 359, Restless, can’t stay calm Chapter 359: 359, Restless, can’t stay calm Song Qinghuan was restless, knowing that Zhan Jie had gone to see Shi Yuhuan.

She didn’t know what Zhan Jie might say to Shi Yuhuan, and whether she’d falsely accuse her over that text message, or whether Shi Yuhuan would believe her.

Unable to focus at work, Song Qinghuan had picked up her phone numerous times, intending to call Shi Yuhuan, but she always ended up not hitting the call button in the end.

As her hesitation persisted, she received a notification that the entire company would be working overtime until midnight. The news startled her and made her even more uneasy.

When everyone went to the cafeteria for their overtime meal, she quietly slipped away to the top floor to find Shi Yuhuan.

She stood at his door for quite some time before finally knocking. Upon receiving permission, she entered with a cheerful smile.

At six something in the winter, the sky was entirely black.

All the lights were on inside the spacious office. Shi Yuhuan was sitting on the couch, in a dimly lit corner with his back to the light, giving his countenance an ominous feel.

His posture as he leaned against the back of the couch was relaxed and lazy, with his deep eyes shimmering like snowflakes.

Song Qinghuan could immediately sense that something was wrong.

Without a second thought, she guessed that it probably had something to do with Zhan Jie. She sat across from Shi Yuhuan, biting her lip slightly and her grape-dark eyes staring at him tearfully.

The room was silent, as neither spoke, making the atmosphere frigid.

In terms of composure, Song Qinghuan would never be a match for Shi Yuhuan. She looked at him weakly and asked in a low voice, “Did Zhan Jie say anything to you just now?”

She cut right to the chase and asked him directly.

Shi Yuhuan looked at her, his eyes as cold and indifferent as the snow on the summit of Mount Everest.

Song Qinghuan couldn’t take it anymore, she turned her head away, her gaze seething with anger as she looked toward the night outside the window.

Was he showing that he believed Zhan Jie instead of her?

At this moment, Shi Yuhuan’s voice finally echoed in the room. His tone was the same as usual, devoid of any fluctuations, as he gently speak out her name, “Song Qinghuan.”

Subconsciously, Song Qinghuan shifted her gaze back to him.

“Is it so important to you what Zhan Jie told me?” Shi Yuhuan asked her. His voice was still steady and flat.

Song Qinghuan furrowed her eyebrows: “Of course it’s important!”

This matter implicated both her personal integrity and Shi Yuhuan’s trust in her, so of course it was important.

A cold smirk appeared on Shi Yuhuan’s face, “And what do you think she said to me?”

“I don’t know…” was Song Qinghuan’s intended reply, but she stopped herself, thought for a moment and then said, “Before Zhan Jie came to see you, she came to find me first. It’s about Zhan Cheng, who had suddenly returned from abroad. He came to find me, and told me some nonsense about how I had texted him saying I missed him, which I didn’t do. Then we got into an argument, and when I was angry, I harshly told Zhan Cheng to go to hell, and then… Today, Zhan Jie showed up and accused me of sending text messages to lure Zhan Cheng back home, and then ignoring him and telling him to go to hell.”

Shi Yuhuan’s voice suddenly grew cold: “Why didn’t you tell me when he sought you out? If Zhan Jie hadn’t shown up today, were you planning on keeping this a secret from me forever?”

Subconsciously, Song Qinghuan shook her head, wanting to explain to Shi Yuhuan that it wasn’t like that.
