Chapter 413 - 413 413 Forced to Leave

?Chapter 413: 413, Forced to Leave Chapter 413: 413, Forced to Leave The three of them chattered and ate, completely unaware of Shi Yuhuan’s presence at the other end of the restaurant.

No emotion could be discerned on his face, but the look in his eyes, directed at the three of them, became increasingly cold and stern.

After the trio left, he picked up his phone and made a call to Li Chengyun: “Call Qianze back.”

Li Chengyun’s handsome brow arched slightly, a devilish smile tugged at his lips as he tapped on the table: “You’re no longer protecting him? Weren’t you still asking me to give him a chance, telling me to let him shoot another TV drama? Why have you suddenly agreed?”

His cold aura permeated the room, lips pursed into a straight line. Shi Yuhuan remained silent, hanging up the phone instead.

But the message was apparent, he was no longer shielding Li Qianze. Li Chengyun was to call him back immediately.

After treating Song Qinghuan and Mei Jun to dinner, Li Qianze mentioned that he’d take them someplace fun the next day as an apology.

But the second day was almost over, and neither Song Qinghuan nor Mei Jun had seen nor heard from him.

As they were getting ready to go out for dinner, Song Qinghuan’s phone suddenly rang. The call was from Li Qianze.

Mei Jun urged Song Qinghuan to answer, encouraging her to give Li Qianze a piece of her mind for breaching trust.

Before Song Qinghuan could even utter a syllable, Li Qianze’s apologetic voice came through: “I’m sorry, Qinghuan, I…”

His chiseled face grew chillingly dark, his displeasure palpable as he continued: “I might not be able to accompany you guys.”

Song Qinghuan’s eyebrows furrowed, the reproachful words subconsciously retorting, “What’s happened?”

“I have to go back to Q City. I’ll probably be away for a long time.” Li Qianze squeezed out a laugh as he looked up at the sky, squinting.

As the plane soared across his vision and disappeared into the distance, he murmured, “I really didn’t want to go back but now that I am, I’m feeling quite happy.”

His statement bewildered Song Qinghuan, “What do you mean you didn’t want to go back, but now you’re happy about it? You’re not making sense.”

“Hehe, it’s a good thing. You can’t repeat good things twice.” Li Qianze chuckled genuinely.

Sensing something was off, Song Qinghuan asked, “Don’t tell me that your brother is dragging you back to Q City and arranging some sort of business marriage for you?”

Li Qianze’s smile widened, “Bingo, Ms. Bai! You’ve become as clever as Conan. Okay, I won’t keep you. I have to board now, goodbye.”

After a brief conversation, he hung up.

Soon, he picked up a suitcase at his feet and walked into the VIP passage.

Song Qinghuan had guessed correctly. The moment he went back to Q City, he was to be engaged, and then married— that was an arranged marriage set up by his elders.

He had chosen to stick around in A City to avoid this.

Song Qinghuan will probably never know why he made such a strange statement.

If it wasn’t for Shi Yuhuan, he wouldn’t have been hauled back.

Actually, what he said to Shi Yuhuan that day was a sort of test, a self-sacrificing probe to help him make a decision.

If Shi Yuhuan had called his brother, that would mean Song Qinghuan somehow held a place in his heart. Li Qianze would be genuinely pleased.
