Chapter 219 - 208 Lanci is now very kind-hearted_1

Deep within Ichrite Academy, near the garden of the Magic Engineering College, there stood a grandiose building exhibiting resplendent traces of Gothic Revival architecture. The red brick facade bore evidence of the passing time, with history settling within like dust.

"Lanci, did you hear about it?"

"What?"

Like always, Lanci and Hyperion chit-chatted as they moved into the old literature building of the Magic Engineering College, a building they were quite familiar with.

"You didn’t come to Sage Academy in the last two days, so you don’t know yet. The students are saying that Dean Loren and Knight Juliana are frequently contacting each other these days. It is said that today when Dean Loren was in class, Knight Juliana contacted him again. Apparently, she is planning to visit Ichrite Academy to meet Loren personally. Dean Loren, scared to death, immediately reassured her that he would not permit any accidents to befall the students of the Arolan Royal Academy Academic Visiting Team. Only then did Knight Juliana temporarily cancel her trip to Hutton Kingdom."

"Dean Loren answered a communication magic while teaching, doesn’t that merit a cut in salary?"

"Where exactly are you focusing…"

The two then reached the research workshop of Professor Bolao on the second floor. Surrounded by the faint humming of machinery and artisan’s whispers as they immersed themselves in work, they spotted a familiar figure descending the stairs around a corner.

"Lanci, Hyperion."

Frey, with his half-raised shades, still exuded an unruly aura. He quickly approached them and greeted them.

Ever since they returned from the Shadow World, the three of them had maintained pretty scattered schedules.

Lanci and Hyperion had more important matters to attend to, while Frey was always busy helping the president deal with affairs at the student council.

"Were you just talking about Dean Loren?"

Frey had faintly caught a glimpse of their conversation while ascending the stairs and, hearing them disjointedly, he asked curiously.

"Yes."

Without hesitation, Hyperion relayed their conversation to Frey.

"I see."

Frey nodded after listening to them.

"Frey, don’t spread it around the Knight College."

Hyperion expressed her worries.

"Don’t worry, I am not the type to spread rumors."

Frey very soon bid Lanci and Hyperion goodbye and went to take care of the tasks entrusted to him by the organization.

"Who started the rumor about Dean Loren and Knight Juliana that the president told us last time?"

When Lanci and Hyperion reached the third floor, a deep-colored, carved wooden corridor steeped in history lay ahead of them. Hyperion pondered on this as they walked.

"It wasn’t me."

Lanci remarked with a smile.

"Right."

Hyperion muttered to herself, thinking that Lanci wasn’t the type to spread gossip.

A chandelier hanging from the ceiling shed a soft light on the corridor. Their footfall quietened as they tread on the lush carpet, leading them progressively to a deep red double-door.

The distance of a door felt like a divide between two worlds.

As Lanci pushed open the heavy mahogany door, the classical and fresh spacious space of the student council chamber came into view.

Behind the long table, the president Monasite looked up at the two.

"I just asked Frey to find you, and here you are."

The president revealed a faint smile, his voice resonating deeply.

Lanci and Hyperion exchanged glances, probably because there was something they were needed for.

However, before the president could disclose anything, the two noticed an additional figure in the lounge area of the council chamber, seated on the couch.

A figure with long, deep purple hair sat sobbing on the couch, while Vice President Asina was next to her, continuously wiping her tears and comforting her in hushed tones.

Recognizing the figure, Lanci and Hyperion glanced at each other in surprise.

The Countess Sofia was here?

The president didn’t say a word, he just gestured for the two to join them. Lanci and Hyperion nodded in acknowledgment.

As Lanci and Hyperion situated themselves across Sofia on the couch, she finally noticed them.

Upon seeing Hyperion, Sofia couldn’t control her tear glands any longer and was about to pour her heart out.

But as soon as her gaze shifted to Lanci, who was smiling gently, Sofia’s sobbing face froze instantly.

She was like a frightened child, continually wiping her face, pretending as if she had not been crying.

"Miss Sofia, no matter what trouble you’ve encountered, you can tell us, we will help you."

Lanci spoke in a gentle and caring tone,

"Helping students within the campus to resolve conflicts, psychological, or emotional struggles is my responsibility."

"..."

When Sofia heard this, she slightly looked up at Lanci.

But she quickly avoided his gaze, stuttering and not daring to speak.

Since the last time at the Cardmaker’s Association, she has been afraid of seeing Lanci.

Because she was too embarrassed.

Once she sees him, the boastful words she had previously spoken would echo in her ears like a curse!

It made her wish she could crawl into a crack in the ground.

"Sofia, you can trust Lanci’s work ability, I assure you of this, first tell us what happened."

Hyperion said to Sofia with full concern, she was really worried about Sofia.

"Hyperion..."

Seeing Hyperion’s gentle demeanor, Sofia felt a sting in her eyes again, and finally she could no longer hold back her tears.

"Do you know the genius card maker in the second grade of the Arolan Royal Academy Academic Visiting Team..."

Sofia glanced at the two people sitting on the sofa opposite her and spoke in a weak voice.

"I do, a second year Gold-level, not bad at all."

Hyperion answered.

"..."

Upon hearing this, Sofia was stunned, she felt that Hyperion might be looking down on the second-grade Gold-level card maker.

But on second thought.

Whether it is Hyperion’s father, or the fellow sitting next to Hyperion, both are extraordinarily remarkable.

So, compared to that, in Hyperion’s perception, the second-grade Gold-level Carlen seemed to be nothing special…

"Sofia, did Carlen from Yaloran Kingdom cause any misunderstandings between you and Prince Aynor?"

Lanci, who seemed to have guessed something, asked in a calm tone.

"Wu...."

Hearing this, Sofia’s tears rushed down once again, and she could not speak.

"No worries, take a deep breath, and tell us the story slowly. I promise to help you. Even if you think it is irreparable, I will still find a solution for you."

Every word of Lanci was soft and slow, like the sound of an angel’s harp, bringing peace to the listener.

Sofia looked at Lanci through her sobs. She could hardly imagine that the person who traumatized her at the Cardmaker’s Association could now make her want to trust him.

"Will you really help me...?"

Sofia asked timidly.

She thought that Lanci should hate her. She was clearly full of jealousy towards Lanci last time and never showed him a good face, but he was still being gentle and tolerant.

If she had to describe his magnanimity in one word.

Even though it might not be quite apt, he was indeed as great as a saint.

"Not only will I help you, but if you wish, I can even help you become a queen."

Lanci nodded, confident as a mentor.

As long as Sofia was willing to learn, he was willing to teach.

"!"

Hyperion looked at Lanci right away.

Upon hearing Lanci’s catchphrase, the devil’s whisper, she had a feeling that something was going to go terribly wrong!
