Chapter 241 - 230: Lanci’s Magnum Opus_1
Chapter 241 - 230: Lanci’s Magnum Opus_1
On the eaves of the house, the mottled wood grain remains tenacious despite weathering storms and snow, the dark wood color exuding the fragrance of time. Each time the rain pelts against it, a soft sound would be elicited.
The raindrops slid off the eaves, accompanying the coolness of the air, before falling, hitting the ground, and splashing a tiny circle of water droplets.
"Alright, Hyperion, you best go inside, the wind is picking up."
"Right, see you at school tomorrow!"
They agreed to meet Dean Loren the next day to submit their application and proceed with the procedures.
After bidding Hyperion goodbye.
Lanci opened his umbrella, hoisting it over his shoulder. He squatted down, then, looking at his own shadow without uttering a word, only a smile gracing his lips.
He reached out his hands towards his own shadow.
After waiting for a bit, Boss Cat leaped out of his shadow and climbed into his hands.
"Lanci meow...why did you figure out I was there..."
The Boss Cat nestled in Lanci’s arm, being held by him while asking him somewhat guiltily.
"It’s raining today, don’t hide in my shadow. You’ll catch a cold."
Lanci replied gently.
"Um... sorry meow..."
The cat boss buried its cat head deeper, feeling even more guilty.
It turned out, Lanci had noticed long ago, but didn’t chastise it. Instead, he treated it so kindly.
It resolved to never hide in Lanci’s shadow surreptitiously again.
Lanci, holding the little black cat and shielding them both under the umbrella, walked down the road home, a smile never leaving his face.
In reality, every time he left the Boss Cat Restaurant, he tried to see if Boss Cat was in his shadow.
But it just so happened to rain today, so he gave it a try under the eaves, not expecting to actually catch the cat.
"Why is it that you, Boss Cat, always follow me? Do I possess any unique traits?"
Lanci inquired.
"What do you think of Hyperion and Tata?"
Curious, Boss Cat asked.
These past few days Hyperion had moved into Boss Cat Restaurant and quickly befriended it.
The Boss Cat noticed Hyperion was a good kid, and furthermore, it was only when Hyperion was around that Lanci seemed a bit more normal.
It now had no idea whether to push for Tate and Lanci or Hyperion and Lanci.
What confused it the most was, why could they coexist so harmoniously together...?
Boss Cat was very shocked during this time.
Based on its experience, when a close trio of one guy and two girls were together, there ought to be explosive conflicts every day!
It tossed and turned in its sleep, so it finally chose to continue observing Lanci, or to simply ask him directly.
"Companions and a teacher. "
Lanci replied.
"Nothing else?"
Boss Cat lifted its head, stared closely into Lanci’s green eyes and asked.
"Nothing else."
Lanci responded as if it was only natural.
"But don’t you think they’re both unique women in your life?"
Boss Cat hesitated for a moment, then asked him again in a different way.
It was determined to make sense of Lanci’s attitude towards Tata and Hyperion today.
"Everyone is unique to me."
Lanci responded with a smile, much like someone who loved all of humanity.
"Then who do you like better?"
Boss Cat, having exhausted his patience from futile questioning, raised his voice slightly.
Surely this time you can’t remain impartial?!
"My love for all beings is equal."
"...Meow!"
The cat boss was getting a bit impatient,
"Don’t you have any earthly desires?"
How could he have met such an unhuman-like hero of a love story! The love story he was looking forward to was stuck with Lanci!
"I think I do."
After some thought, Lanci gave a serious answer.
"Huh?"
The cat boss was immediately focused.
Since he still has desires, it means that he is not a person who has no desires. It is possible that he could have a romance route!
"I want to bring peace to the world,"
Lanci said.
"..."
It felt that he was not joking, and was telling the truth.
Based on what it had recently learned about Lanci from overhearing conversations between Tata and Hyperion, he was a rather unconventional character, and things that caught his attention were never going to end well.
Upon hearing Lanci’s desire to bring peace to the world, the cat boss couldn’t help getting goosebumps and dared not say another word for the rest of the journey.
...
Before long, Lanci had returned to his own dorm room, number 101.
Lanci switched on the light, put the cat boss down, hung his coat on the coat rack, and proceeded directly to the Cardmaking Workshop converted from a large storage room.
This card crafting was considerably dangerous. He even spent a large amount on purchasing a high-grade explosion-proof barrier.
The Cardmaking Workshop’s door was opened, and Lanci’s eyes gleamed with a hint of seriousness. The workshop which was originally neat was now covered with various blueprints pinned on the wall.
The workbench was also piled with various materials and remnants of heavy artillery residue, and the Great Love Poet was sitting in front of the workbench making preparations.
The Great Love Poet had been left in the Cardmaking Workshop before he set off in the morning. She had a great passion for card making, and once she was fully engrossed in it, even Lanci couldn’t divert her attention.
As soon as he returned, Lanci noticed that the Great Love Poet had changed her appearance again.
She had deftly coiled up her hair, forming a beautiful bun at the back of her head. Each strain was carefully arranged, making it look both organized and elegant, with a few strands casually hanging on the sides of her cheeks or behind her neck.
The Great Love Poet had now put on a white blouse and a slim-fit black skirt, looking extremely capable. She even wore golden-colored contact lenses.
Lanci jumped when he first noticed the Great Love Poet. At first glance, she looked exactly like the real Talia.
"I asked you to learn card making from Tata to put some pressure on me, but I didn’t expect you to go this far..."
Lanci felt that if the Great Love Poet was found out by Talia in this appearance, it would cause a big problem.
The cat boss, who had followed him to the door of the Cardmaking Workshop, also froze on the spot.
It felt that these two would eventually bring about their own downfall.
Tata was angry enough last time, and now they were looking for even bigger trouble?
"You said card making was very important this time, so I dressed up like this to please you."
The Great Love Poet helplessly spread her hands and sighed, seeming to think that Lanci was demanding.
"Enough said, the more you say, the worse it gets."
Lanci waved his hand and did not want to deal with the Great Love Poet anymore. He headed over to the vault, opened it and took out the two materials stored inside.
In his left hand was a rock with a unique grey texture on the surface. It was actually a heart that hadn’t decayed at all despite the passage of millennia. Just by touching it, one could feel the persistent vitality pulsating from it.
Under the light of the workshop, Lanci could clearly see the flowing glow inside, with the miraculous ancient magic power flickering.
In his right hand, he held a pure red leaf-shaped crystal stone, a Pink Holy Level material obtained after disassembling the suicide spell [Destruction Spark] seized from Phoenix.
The cat boss swung its head violently on the ground in disbelief.
Although it couldn’t quite recognize the grade of these two materials, they were clearly beyond its understanding!
"Lanci, meow! Don’t you know these two materials are totally incompatible!"
"Don’t worry, whether it’s sealing or fire, I’m an expert."
Lanci calmly walked to his workbench, atop which were already his materials for calculating proportions, drafts for making processes, and scrolls filled with Human Magic Text and Demon Magic Text.
"I will become a sealer that brings warmth and peace to everyone."
Lanci stared at the table and murmured to himself.
