Chapter 400 - 380: The Encounter of Hyperion and Sigrid_1

North of the Protoss Royal Magic Academy.

Moonlight seeped through the heavy cloud layer, shedding a dim light on the detached mansion of Gloria by the roadside. The mansion occupied the whole area, surrounded by a meticulously planned courtyard. In the moonlight, the vegetation in the courtyard presented a lush deep green, and the water in the fountain pool made a subtle murmuring sound under the raindrops.

The windows on the first floor of the mansion were obscured by curtains, only the faint glow leaking from the cracks could indicate that the people inside had not gone to bed.

"You’ve had a hard time on the journey."

Under an umbrella, Lanci led Hyperion along the late-night school path. Straight ahead laid the Gloria’s mansion.

After sending Michela back to Count Milford’s residence, which he had reserved at the Protoss Royal Magic Academy, Lanci and Hyperion continued northward, reaching near Gloria’s residence in a few minutes.

"It’s alright, everything went smoothly."

Hyperion shook her head. She didn’t want Lanci to know about the danger she encountered in the Hezishan Province. She was afraid that Lanci would retaliate against the Nirvana Branch on her behalf.

Thinking back carefully, whenever she was bullied at Ichrite, Lanci would help her get back at them. She didn’t know whether Lanci did it intentionally or unintentionally, but his motives always seemed noble, glorious and right.

Even though Lanci now holds a high position in the Protoss Empire, a position she couldn’t accept, she was well aware of the terrifying power of the Bishop of Nirvana, an overwhelmingly strong existence that even Teacher Bingxue Witch would struggle to fight against.

Lanci nodded with a smile, as if he believed her words. With one hand, he pushed open the gate of the courtyard, held the umbrella over Hyperion’s head, and they went in together.

The wet cobblestone path in the courtyard gleamed more brightly under the moonlight, and the light rain pelted down, almost drowning out their soft footsteps.

Hyperion kept quiet and stayed beside Lanci.

She didn’t know why Lanci wanted to come here as soon as he returned to school, but there must be something important for him.

About Herram Prison, it seemed like she still had to ask him later when they were alone in a safer location.

Under the absurd law, the Rebirth Church became the official church in the Protoss Empire, while it was the Church of the Goddess of Destiny that was labeled as a heresy.

However, Hyperion was sure that Lanci, as a high-ranking official in the empire, would agree to help the Church of the Goddess of Destiny for the greater good.

Although she wasn’t certain about how much help Lanci was willing to offer her and Bingxue Witch had warned her repeatedly not to trust any important figures in the Protoss Empire, Hyperion had no worry that Lanci would betray her.

She simply couldn’t envisage a scenario where Lanci would secretly bring her to the Rebirth Church’s base and put her on trial amongst the Heretics.

The two approached the door of Gloria’s home.

"Gloria, it’s me."

Lanci tapped on the door lightly and said.

Soon, someone opened the door without the sound of footsteps.

Apparently, Gloria had been waiting behind the door since she noticed the movement in the courtyard.

"You are back."

Gloria finally began to tilt her head towards Lanci with respect and said.

"..."

Lanci seemed slightly uncomfortable with her formality.

Gloria’s tone didn’t reflect the respect of a student towards a principal or a subordinate towards a supervisor. Instead, there was a sense of obedience towards a stepfather, as if she was starting to accept the relationship between her stepfather and her mother.

Within the silence, Gloria took a quick glance at Hyperion, realizing that she was a girl of a similar age. This calmed her initial suspicion.

The Holy Son seemed only to be attracted to women around their thirties. A young girl like Hyperion, with all her teenage innocence, was not a threat to Mr. Bishop.

In the school, he had kept a mournful distance from all the young female students. The only one who could have an irreplaceable closeness with the Holy Son was the Bishop. This clearly demonstrated the Bishop’s psychological age and preferences.

"Let’s go in first."

Lanci closed the umbrella and handed it to Gloria. Then he said to Hyperion.

"Hmm."

Hyperion seemed to notice that something was slightly out of place, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

She could roughly tell that this student named Gloria was not the real owner of this place

Lanci was going to introduce her to someone else.

With the closing of the door behind them, the world seemed to quiet down. Even the sound of the rain was isolated. The mansion was probably equipped with a soundproofing magic device.

The three walked the corridor leading to the lounge. Lanci led Hyperion forward, with Gloria following respectfully behind.

The soft light in the room illuminated the clean corridor. The air was thick with a blend of jasmine, cedar, and distilled wine. The overall aroma was like a melody whispering softly. It made the environment feel both focused and refreshing, bringing tranquility and balance. It immediately put everyone at ease.

Perhaps feeling this tranquility, the shadow of Lanci finally moved, and a small, timid shadow emerged - the Cat boss.

"Cat boss..."

Hyperion crouched down to pick up the little black cat, stroking its head, and took a brief look around. The place really felt like a woman’s home.

Although she didn’t know why Lanci had brought her to someone else’s home.

However, any place the Cat boss was willing to come out clearly represented safety.

"Meow..."

The Cat boss dared not meet eyes with Hyperion.

It couldn’t imagine how much Hyperion had been startled just now.

"..."

At first, Hyperion wanted to ask the Cat boss why Lanci had changed in this way.

But when she saw that it was just a cat, and then looked at Lanci, she decided to let it be.

The lesser the abilities, the lesser are the responsibilities. Cat boss, is only capable of performing simple life activities.

As they walked into a spacious area, the three of them arrived at the guest room of the mansion.

On the couch, Sigrid sat with her arms encircling her knees.

"You came back late today."

Said Sigrid, with a slightly gentle and sleepy look in her purple eyes.

It seemed like she had been waiting for Lanci for a long time, but there was no hint of blame in her words. She was merely expressing her hope that he could come back earlier next time, otherwise, she might get worried.

Hearing this, Hyperion looked somewhat confused at this shallow-haired woman, who exuded a unique aura. She looked quite dominant and yet, there was gentleness present.

It was not only Hyperion’s surprise at Lanci getting to know such a charming woman, but it was also the implication of Sigrid’s words that shocked her.

Could it be that Lanci has been living with this woman all this while?

Hyperion couldn’t figure out how just after two months of not seeing him, Lanci had become so comfortable around a woman.

When in Ichrite, Lanci had always been indifferent to women. The person closest to Lanci wasn’t her, Hyperion, but Frey!
