The cool wind blew on him, yet he seemed to feel nothing.
Kiera spoke, “Big brother, are you trying to force Mary to do something?”
Ellis faltered: “I’m not.”
Kiera then lowered her gaze: “But by standing here, aren’t you pressuring her or me to let you in?”
Ellis looked at her with hopeful eyes: “So can I come in…”
“No, you can’t.”
Kiera coldly refused.
She went on: “Your presence here is distracting Mary. She just had a miscarriage; she’s weak and needs to rest properly. Are you sure you still want to stay?”
Ellis was taken aback.
Kiera sighed again: “You should at least give her more time to think. It all happened yesterday, and you’re pressing her to forgive you today. Do you think that’s possible?”
