?Chapter 95: 089 Witch-hunting Knight taught me witchcraft Chapter 95: 089 Witch-hunting Knight taught me witchcraft “Is that strange?” Doctor Zhang said smugly, “Not to mention that the enemy often knows the enemy best, let’s just say our Antler Witch-Hunting Knight Order selflessly wants to save those witches, to offer them a new path, we have done enough research on them.”

“It’s not selfless, there’s no need to make it sound so grandiose,” Professor Cao retorted with a cold snort, blunt as ever.

“It’s because of ambition. When other cities, even the whole world’s Witch Hunter Knights, are trying every means to kill witches, we started thinking about incorporating them,” Doctor Zhang said, his tone suggesting a strategy.

“If we truly figure out a way to transform witches into Witch Hunter Knights, we will become the most powerful force beyond dispute. Those witches in the city who know how to hide and not cause trouble, we give them a bit of ambiguous leniency, just so they can become the potential we bank on for our rise to power,” he continued.

Doctor Zhang grinned and raised an eyebrow at Lin An, “Take the Witches’ Assembly for instance, they’ve been purged by our Antler order once before, and now the new generation is just a few unimposing kittens.”

Unimposing?

Is he referring to someone like Chen Xinmi who can suppress the Sorcerer Zombies’ progression, a top-notch figure?

Or perhaps someone like Chen Shuyun, a witch with extraordinary talent who is young but on the verge of becoming a Sorcerer Zombie?

Lin An blinked, looking innocent and said nothing.

“But if you ask me, ambition only brings destruction,” Professor Cao remarked, pressing his lips together and shaking his head, “I think we should abandon the proud stance of the past. Since the reform of the Furnace has failed, there’s no need to stick to the previous generation’s strategies against wizards, but no one listens.”

“Hah~”
“Those who aren’t capable shouldn’t dream too big.”

“Sure enough, first there was the Ghost-Faced Witch who could maintain the order among city’s witches, and then came the Male Witch Cotton Tree, who propped up the Male Witch Organization.”

“They are too numb and arrogant.”

“Luckily, with the appearance of the Eyeball Witch Monster and the Black Cat Wizard, they began to realize that things are starting to spiral beyond their control, and that’s when they started to panic,” Professor Cao commented.

Listening to Professor Cao’s complaint, Doctor Zhang shook his head helplessly, “Leaderless, lacking a backbone, everyone sometimes opposes just for the sake of opposition, ending up in this fragmented state.”

“Everyone is calling for you to come out and lead, but if you really step up, the opposition will probably become more intense,” he observed.

Professor Cao clearly saw through this and shook his head with a hint of regret, “It’s disintegrating, but I am powerless, alas.”

Outstanding Lu Tingyu overshadowed his peers, but when Lu Tingyu was gone, everyone started to become insubordinate to each other; how sad.

Doctor Zhang didn’t want to continue this topic and waved his hand to send Mr. Cao away.

“Even if the Antler Witch-Hunting Knight Order is falling apart, relying on the Lu Jiao passed down and improved upon generation after generation, everyone’s strength is solid; we won’t really mess it up on our watch,” Doctor Zhang said before shooing him off, “Stop moping in front of me, it’s annoying, piss off. You’d be better off spending that time figuring out how to teach Lin An that Breathing Skill properly.”

“I’m going to start teaching him witchcraft first,” he declared.

A Witch-hunting Knight teaching me witchcraft?

Even if Doctor Zhang made sense, Lin An couldn’t help but feel a bit absurd.

After Professor Cao left, Doctor Zhang rubbed his hands together with excitement, ready to teach, “Whether wizards or Witch Hunter Knights, neither strays far from the Seven Emotions and Six Desires.”

“Seven Emotions: joy, anger, sadness, thought, grief, fear, shock.”

Upon hearing this, Lin An was startled; Chen Shuyun had previously mentioned something similar to him, her ‘Five Systems Theory of Happiness, Anger, Worry, Thought, and Fear’ which omitted grief and fear, and combined shock and fear.

“Grief is an extension of sorrow, and fear is an extension of shock,” Doctor Zhang continued.

“As for the Six Desires, they are: sight (desire for beauty and wonders), hearing (desire for pleasant sounds and praise), smell (desire for fragrances), taste (desire for fine foods and flavors), touch (desire for comfort and enjoyment), and intention (desire for appearances, wealth, fame, love),” he explained.

“These might seem simple on their own,” he mused.

“But to really delve deep, there’s a lot to talk about; I’ll explain it to you gradually,” he promised.

“Just remember, if you want to impersonate a wizard, you need to show it through one of the Seven Emotions and Six Desires.”

Lin An was momentarily stunned, then reminded him, “I am a wizard.”

“You’re not a damn wizard, just kidding with you.” Doctor Zhang waved his hand dismissively, “You’ve just inherited a Sorcerer’s Bloodline and then had a ‘Shallow Awakening’ through experimentation. You’re still far from a real wizard.”

“Have you ever had pineapple rice?” he asked out of the blue.

“Ah?” Lin An didn’t understand why he was asking this but nodded anyway, “I have.”

“Ah, then it’ll be easy to understand,” Doctor Zhang said with a gleeful smile, “Pineapple rice is interesting. We first cut open a pineapple, scoop out the inside, fry it with rice, then stuff it back into the pineapple.”

Pointing at Lin An, he said, “You’re the pineapple.”

“The Seven Emotions and Six Desires are the pineapple flesh, and the rice is Spiritual Energy. Mix it up, fry it together, and voila, put it back inside you, the pineapple.”

“Do you think you’re still the same pineapple?” he asked.

Lin An hesitated, then shook his head, “No.”

“Exactly.” Doctor Zhang spoke cheerily, “Your current state, you see, is like a pineapple, not yet the pineapple rice.”

“Got it.” The analogy was peculiar, but Lin An caught on quickly, “I’m lacking Spiritual Energy.”

“Ah~, you got it. The effect of Spiritual Energy corrupting the human heart is not what you feel now,” Doctor Zhang said, clicking his tongue.

“It’s that neurotic feeling, especially in newly awakened witches, they look the strangest,” Doctor Zhang observed with a tut-tut.
