?Chapter 131: 131, Professional Scapegoat (Third Update)_1 Chapter 131: 131, Professional Scapegoat (Third Update)_1 Lifting his head, he grabbed Black Jack’s sleeve, “Black Jack, it’s all Bai Jue’s fault. Bai Jue keeps telling me that your business tactics are so ruthless. I remember that inadvertently, it was him who had brainwashed me.”
Blaming everything on Bai Jue, Jian Luo stated with feeling, feeling a pang of guilt for two seconds.
Sorry, Bai Jue, I’m using you as a cover.
“Bai Jue?” Black Jack looked at him suspiciously, “He said that to you?”
“Yes, yes.” Encouraged, Jian Luo nodded earnestly.
[Bai Jue explodes: Xiaobai, you damn bastard, just you wait.]
Black Jack gave him a sidelong glance, his face noticeably lightened up, “Get back to your seat.”
Hurray, success!
Jian Luo raised a little victory flag in his heart, taking two steps back to his seat.
“Black Jack, is that Quan Jingwu really impressive?”
“What do you think about someone who puts me in a weak position at the negotiating table?” Aside from that cunning fox Jian Qing, this was the first time he had encountered such a difficult person.
Quan Jingwu, truly a formidable and fearsome opponent!
Chewing his fork, Jian Luo frowns, “He’s that impressive, huh. I should have taken a look earlier.”
“You’ve seen him before.” replied Black Jack.
Jian Luo, “Photos in magazines aren’t the same as the real person.”
Black Jack pressed the bell on the table, and the waiter immediately came over.
“You want more?” Jian Luo looked at Black Jack with confusion, he had already ordered a table full of signature dishes, more would be too much.
Ignoring him, Black Jack whispered something in the waiter’s ear. The waiter showed a surprised look.
“Alright, please wait.”
The moment the waiter left, Jian Luo asked curiously, “What did you order?”
Black Jack cracked a smile, “It’s a secret.”
Jian Luo pouted, lowered his head and continued eating.
A little while later, a plate of something black was brought in front of him, and Jian Luo seemed unsettled.
Swallowing, he turned to the other man, “Black Jack, what is this?”
“Grilled chicken hearts.” Black Jack replied calmly, folding his arms.
Jian Luo’s face pulled a confused look, shifting his gaze to the blackened dish, imagining the shape of chicken hearts in his mind.
Just thinking about it made him feel a little sick.
“Why did you order this?”
“Haven’t you always said you’re heartless? Here’s your chance to do some replenishment.” Black Jack said leisurely, “Chicken hearts are hearts too, you’ll just have to make do.”
Jian Luo’s hand trembled, his fork fell on the table, and he had a sudden feeling of shooting himself in the foot.
Could this be his punishment for slandering Bai Jue?
“So, can I not eat it?” Jian Luo murmured softly.
Black Jack shook his head mercilessly, “No, if you don’t eat, it means that you were doing it on purpose just now.”
Jian Luo looked at the plate of chicken hearts, feeling a headache coming on.
He picked up his fork, got a small piece, closed his eyes, clenched his teeth and pushed it towards his mouth.
Well, death be it, at worst he’ll have diarrhea.
Suddenly, he felt his hand being held, and when he opened his eyes, he met Black Jack’s smiling eyes and looked at him confusedly.
“Why are you stopping me?”
“You were really going to eat it?” Black Jack let go of his hand, laughing teasigly.
“But you just said…”
“I was just teasing you, so you’ll remember.”
Jian Luo was stunned and then relieved, not having to eat that terrifying dish.
He pushed away the plate of chicken hearts in disgust, then waved the waiter over to take it away, not satisfied.
With the unappetizing chicken hearts gone, Jian Luo felt the air fresher and he buried his head back in his food.
Black Jack leant back in his chair, propping his head up with one hand and smiling subtly at the sight of the happily eating man across from him.
