?Chapter 226: 226, Should we smash it all down? (1)_1 Chapter 226: 226, Should we smash it all down? (1)_1 The lake’s surface was rippling with a fanfare of light, the willows by the shore dangled tenderly, creating a peaceful aura which disconnected itself from the bustle of the city.
“Screech—”
A piercing sound of tyres grinding against the ground and the powerful roar of the sports car’s engine shattered the tranquility near the lake.
Jian Luo opened the car door and got out.
He glanced towards the black sedan that had been tailing them the whole way, a mockery smile played at the corner of his mouth, then he walked over to it.
“Knock, knock–”
He bent his fingers and knocked on the car window.
In a moment, the window was rolled down, and the man inside squinted his beady eyes at Jian Luo, looking slightly nervous.
Without revealing any emotions, the man asked, “Gentleman, how might I help you?”
Jian Luo let out a soft chuckle. With a cold glint in his eyes, he reached through the window, grabbed the man’s collar in one swift move, and pulled with force.
“Hey, what are you doing?”
Caught off guard, and without any defence, the man’s upper body was almost pulled out of the car. He got stuck at the car window, feeling dizzy.
“Have fun tailing us?” Jian Luo took hold of the man’s collar and used his free hand to grab the man’s hair, forcing the other man to look up at him.
“What nonsense are you talking about, I don’t understand.” The man struggled frantically, regretting not making a run when he had the chance.
“No problem if you don’t understand. I will explain later.” Jian Luo released his grip on the man’s hair and shifted his gaze to another man who was sitting in the driver’s seat, looking stunned.
“Get out of the car!”
The man who was behind the wheel shivered as he met the icy look in Jian Luo’s eyes. He stuttered while trying to speak.
“Let go of me or I’m going to call the police.”
Jian Luo scoffed, “Go ahead, call the police.”
The man’s heart skipped a beat. He could tell that Jian Luo was not someone to be messed with.
“Li Feng, just listen to him. Get out of here quickly.” Said the man whom Jian Luo was holding onto, his body leaning out of the car window and his voice filled with urgency.
If he continued to hang like this, he would feel like vomiting.
The man, who was called “Li Feng,” muttered a curse under his breath, made up his mind, opened the car door, and got out.
By this time, Jian Qing had also come over.
Jian Luo let go of the man, turned his attention to Li Feng, remained tight-lipped and punched him in the face.
“Hiss–”
The punch was delivered with full force.
Blood spurted out from the corner of Li Feng’s mouth, his ears started ringing.
Jian Qing, her hands in her pockets, stood by and watched with a faint smile playing at the corner of her mouth.
Well, well, her dear little brother is becoming more and more violent!
“Are you freaking crazy? I’m going to get a medical report and sue you.” Li Feng wiped the blood from his mouth and shouted in a hoarse voice.
“Sue me?” Jian Luo looked at him leisurely, flicked his wrist, “Go ahead and try.”
“What exactly do you two want to do?” The man, who had just been held by Jian Luo, got out of the car, and a trace of fear was evident in his eyes.
Jian Qing kept her expression composed, and said, “Those reports on the internet were written by both of you, weren’t they?”
Upon hearing this, the expressions of the two men, one tall and the other short, changed to a state of panic, but they tried to make themselves look calm.
Li Feng looked at Jian Qing and retorted defiantly, “We have no idea what you’re talking about, what reports?”
“Doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it. Tell Chu Ruohan that if she doesn’t have good character, at least she should not use tactics so clumsily. Try not to capsize in the canal while trying to play tricks.” Jian Qing said coolly after throwing a glance at both of them.
On hearing these words, Li Feng and the other man were taken aback by what Jian Qing said.
“This camera is quite an eyesore.” Jian Luo’s voice rang out, and Li Feng and his companion quickly looked over.
Seeing this, they almost felt like choking.
While they were not paying attention, the camera that was hidden in the car was found by Jian Luo.
“What are you trying to do, give us back the camera.” Li Feng protested angrily. The camera belonged to the company and it was expensive. Whatsmore, the photos in it were priceless.
“Tsk, tsk, your photography skills are terrible. Some of the shots are so blurry.” Jian Luo began to browse through the photos in the camera with a look of scorn.
“Sis, should I smash it?” Jian Luo quickly pulled out the film from the camera, then turned to Jian Qing, and asked.
Unbeknownst to them, his single word “sis” left Li Feng and the other man as if they had been struck by lightning. Their faces turned pale.
They didn’t hear wrong, did they? That man called Jian Qing “sis”?
Both men’s gazes switched between Jian Qing and Jian Luo, and they went silent for a while, looking horribly discomposed.
“Now, even if they don’t want to believe it, the man and Jian Qing’s similar faces were right in front of them. It appears that this time they had put their foot in it, having labelled siblings as lovers. Now, they are probably in deep trouble.”
Remembering that there is the influential Quan Jingwu backing Jian Qing, Li Feng and the other man filled with remorse for agreeing to Chu Ruohan’s request the day before.
Jian Qing looked at him, calmly said, “Do whatever you want with it, whether you want to throw or smash it.”
Jian Luo flashed a playful smile, loosened his grip, and the expensive camera slid down from his hand, smashing heavily onto the ground.
In an instant, cracks spread on the surface of the camera.
Li Feng and the other man sank their shoulders, they stared blankly at the camera that had crashed to the ground, thinking that it was all over.
“Luoluo, let’s go.” Having achieved her goal, Jian Qing turned and left.
Jian Luo, holding the film, followed closely, and sat inside the car.
Seeing the silhouette of the car gradually disappearing from their sight, Li Feng, and the other man, their legs gave way, and they knelt on the ground.
“Ah Feng, what should we do now?” The short man looked worried, clutching his head with both hands.
Li Feng shook his head, he didn’t know what to do either.
They had messed up. They couldn’t make amends with Chu Ruohan and had offended Jian Qing as well. It seemed that there was no place for them in Beijing anymore.
…
The Chu Family
“Where is Ruohan? Have her come to me.”
A powerful and vibrant voice filled the living room, commanding in its tone.
Chu Yan walked into the living room, his face ashen. The servants were all on edge.
Jiang Fan had just returned from shopping outside and she had just sat down when she saw her father-in-law walking in with an angry expression. She had a sense of foreboding.
“Dad, what happened? Did Ruohan upset you?” she asked tentatively, trying to be careful.
“Where’s Ruohan? I heard from the butler that she didn’t go out, have her called in.” Chu Yan, sat down, looked up at Jiang Fan and said sternly.
Seeing the old man’s frowning face, Jiang Fan didn’t dare to ask more. She instructed a servant to go upstairs and call Chu Ruohan down.
She poured a cup of tea and gently placed it in front of Chu Yan, saying, “Dad, have some tea to calm down. Ruohan is still young and might not know any better. If she’s done something to upset you, I’ll give her a good talking-to later. Don’t let it impede your health.”
The old man had always spoiled Ruohan. Why did he look so angry today? Could Ruohan have caused trouble outside?
Chu Yan remained expressionless and did not take the cup of tea. He said, “Just leave it there.”
