?Chapter 248: 248, Let this ruin become his tomb (1)_1 Chapter 248: 248, Let this ruin become his tomb (1)_1 Upon seeing this, Quan Mingxuan rushes forward to stop her, “Jian Qing, what are you trying to do?”

“Find him.” Jian Qing’s gaze lay on the rubble not far away as she gently spoke.

Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue both paused, finally understanding what she meant.

“Jian Qing, don’t rush. There are rescue teams over there, and the area has been cordoned off. You can’t get in.” Quan Mingxuan spoke softly.

If Jingwu were here, the last thing he would want is for Jian Qing to be hurt because of him.

“Move.” Jian Qing lifted her eyes and glanced at him, her gaze frigid.

Quan Mingxuan met her emotionless eyes, opened his mouth, but found himself unable to say anything.

“Axuan, let her go.” Han Yue stepped forward, gripped Quan Mingxuan, and looked at Jian Qing with complex eyes.

Under these circumstances, it might be better for her to find a way to vent her fear and anxiety.

Quan Mingxuan turned to look at him, finally stepping out of the way.

Watching her back, Quan Mingxuan heaved a sigh, “Ayue, maybe we were both wrong.”

Since the beginning, he felt that Jingwu was the one who had given more in the relationship, while Jian Qing had always been the passive recipient. Others may see that Jingwu’s love for Jian Qing was less intense than her love for him. Actually, that was what he thought, too. He even worried that Jingwu might get hurt by Jian Qing.

But today, from the moment he saw Jian Qing, he realized that he was wrong, terribly wrong.

Actually, her love for Jingwu was just as strong as his for her.

Han Yue slightly nodded his head, then walked towards the police officer stationed by the barricade.

“Miss, you can’t come near here, please wait outside the line.” The police officer spotted Jian Qing crossing the line and immediately tried to block her.

“Officer Chen, let her through.”

A deep voice piped in.

The man known as “Officer Chen” looked up to see Han Yue.

“Mr. Han!”

“Let her through.” Han Yue glanced at Jian Qing, then whispered something into Officer Chen’s ear.

Officer Chen had a surprised look on his face, and he looked at Jian Qing with a peculiar expression.

“Understood.”

He nodded and opened up the line, clearing the way for Jian Qing.

The rescue team, dressed uniformly, tirelessly pulled battered victims from the wreckage, and two excavators worked together, carefully moving the collapsed buildings due to the earthquake under the command of the professionals.

Due to the possibility of a collapse, the pace of the excavation was extremely slow. However, there was no other alternative.

As Jian Qing approached, she immediately drew the attention of those around her.

“Who’s that person?”

“I have no clue. Isn’t there a cordon outside? How did she get in?”

Jian Qing looked at the rubble before her, her hand by her side trembling slightly.

She squatted down, her fair hand directly digging into the rocks.

Han Yue and Quan Mingxuan watched her back, exchanged a look, a touch of heartache flashing in their eyes.

There were reporters live broadcasting the scene. A few reporters from Beijing recognized Jian Qing, and the phrase “front-page news” instantly popped into their minds.

“Miss Jian, we heard that Mr. Jing is on the casualty list of this hotel, can you tell us how is he now?”

“Miss Jian, is Mr. Jing truly trapped under this rubble?”

“Miss Jian, you’re personally participating in the rescue, is it because you’re worried about Mr. Jing?”

“Miss Jian, if something really happened to Mr. Jing, what are your plans for today?”

The few reporters from Beijing surrounded Jian Qing, throwing one pointed question after another.

Jian Qing glared coldly at the last reporter who asked the question, dropped the rock in her hand, and suddenly grabbed his collar.

“Ah–”
This act instantly terrified the other reporters, they retreated like birds frightened by a bowstring.

“Jian Qing is hitting someone, Jian Qing is hitting someone…”

The male reporter being grabbed by Jian Qing yelled, drawing everyone’s attention.

Jian Qing casually tossed him, giving him a hard throw onto the rubble.

“Ouch–”
The broken rocks and edges jutted out on the rubble. He was thrown on top of them, feeling the sharpness of the stones piercing into his flesh.

The male reporter shrieked in pain. Just as he tried to stand up, a foot landed on his back, shoving him back down.

“Hiss–”
Jian Qing looked down at the man under her foot, a violent aura radiating off her, “If anyone dares to even suggest that Xiaojing has encountered an accident, I will turn this pile of rubble into his tomb!”

No one, absolutely no one, is allowed to curse him.

Her icy voice sent shivers down everyone around. The onlookers understood the situation simultaneously– it seemed that the reporter’s words had infuriated Jian Qing.

Han Yue and Quan Mingxuan quickly arrived at the scene upon hearing the news. Seeing Jian Qing’s murderous aura, they immediately stepped forward to intervene.

“Jian Qing, don’t be impulsive.”

“Jian Qing, leave this man to us, don’t get agitated.”

Quan Mingxuan stared darkly at the pained face of the male reporter, wishing he could rip his mouth apart. If it weren’t for the current state of affairs, he would prefer journalists like these, who only cared about their personal gains amid a crisis, to be gone for good.

Jian Qing narrowed her eyes, withdrew her foot, and barked, “Get lost!”

Han Yue quickly picked up the male reporter as if he were a small chicken.

Jian Qing turned around and continued to dig through the rocks.

Quan Mingxuan walked over to the few reporters who had just surrounded Jian Qing. Those reporters were clearly still startled by her, their expressions stunned.

“If you don’t have any professional ethics, you might as well quit your jobs as reporters.” Quan Mingxuan glared coldly at them.

The reporters whose gazes intersected with Quan Mingxuan’s all lowered their heads, “Second Master Quan, we understand.”

They just wanted details about Mr. Jing’s situation, they never expected Jian Qing to be so tough and unapproachable.

Quan Mingxuan snorted dismissively and turned away.

As time elapsed, the sky grew darker.

After a long day’s work, the rescue team took turns to grab some food. Volunteers handed out packed meals. Everyone, covered in dust and grime, found an open space to replenish their energy.

“Jian Qing, you should eat something and rest for a while.” Quan Mingxuan, holding a packed meal and a bottle of water, walked up to Jian Qing.

She had not eaten or drank anything all day. She had been here, squatting and shifting rocks all afternoon. Even a robust young man would have found the task exhausting.
