?Chapter 290: 290. Has the Daily Life Ended (3)_1 Chapter 290: 290. Has the Daily Life Ended (3)_1 “Sir, you need to rest now,” Qin Bo timely reminded him.

Mr. Jian was still not completely healed from his gunshot wound, so he kept a regular daily schedule.

Mr. Jian nodded, and Qin Bo helped him go upstairs to rest.

“CEO Quan, care to join us for a drink?” Bai Jue broke the silence, a playful glint in his eyes.

Quan Jingwu did not refuse, effectively accepting the offer.

“You guys drink, Luoluo and I will abstain.” Jian Qing pulled Jian Luo aside, clearly indicating that they would not be participating in the drinking session.

“I want to participate too.” Jian Luo raised her hand to announce.

Before Jian Qing could oppose, Black Jack beat her to it. “No, you’re not suited to drink alcohol.”

“Who says so,” Jian Luo retorted with apparent dissatisfaction.

“I say so, and I forbid it.”

“You don’t have the final say.”

“Are you sure?” Black Jack narrowed his blue eyes and asked in a deep voice.

Jian Luo choked on her words but stubbornly turned her head away. “Who wants to drink with you guys anyway?”

Quan Jingwu understood something. His gaze flashed with realization.

“Sister, let’s go play some games.” Jian Luo led Jian Qing away, leaving the three men behind.

Black Jack and Bai Jue casually bypassed the living room and headed for the bar counter.

Bai Jue poured drinks for everyone and lazily leaned on the sofa.

“Quan Jingwu, I’m rather curious. How much do you know about Jian Qing?”

Quan Jingwu’s gaze landed on him. Sounding ambiguous, he answered, “She is my other half.”

There was no further explanation needed. The simple sentence was filled with certainty.

Bai Jue chuckled, “That’s an interesting answer.”

Talking to smart people could really wrack one’s brain!

Black Jack suddenly spoke up, his blue eyes focused on Quan Jingwu. “Jian Qing grew up with us. If you dare hurt her, we will go to any lengths to make you pay.”

Bai Jue glanced at him, apparently sharing the same sentiment as Black Jack.

Quan Jingwu seriously nodded, “Of course.”

With that, Black Jack and Bai Jue let out a small laugh, the atmosphere lightening a bit.

After a few rounds of drinks, the bond between the men seemed to grow stronger.

“Quan Jingwu, let me share a secret with you,” Bai Jue took a glance around before continuing, “Jian Qing despises winters. Every year, as soon as it begins to snow in M Country, she runs off to other countries until winter is over. Only then, she returns.”

“From what Jian Luo said, their mother passed away in winter during a snowfall.” Black Jack added.

Hearing this, Quan Jingwu’s eyes deepened, a hint of pain evident in his heart.

That night, Black Jack and Bai Jue shared many stories about Jian Qing from their childhood, including her likes and dislikes.

When he returned to the room, Jian Qing was already asleep.

After a bath, Quan Jingwu got into the bed, and the person next to him instinctively rolled into his arms, seeking warmth.

A slight softness flashed in his eyes, and he pulled her closer.

Remembering the words shared by Bai Jue and Black Jack earlier, he lowered his head and whispered into her ear, “My darling, I’ll accompany you through every winter from here on.”

In his deep, husky voice, he gently made his promise.

The next day, Jian Qing got up to find the bed beside her empty.

She touched the bedding, feeling the cold.

It seemed he had gotten up early.

She casually glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. She realized it wasn’t that Quan Jingwu had gotten up early, but she had overslept.

It was already past nine in the morning.

She stretched lazily, threw off the covers, got out of bed, and got ready effortlessly.

As she descended the stairs, she could already hear Black Jack’s and the others’ voices coming from the living room.

“Sister, you’re awake.” Jian Luo was sitting in a spot facing the staircase. He looked up to see Jian Qing coming down.

Jian Qing nodded lightly, “Where’s Xiaojing?”

“He’s probably preparing your breakfast.” Jian Luo pointed in the direction of the kitchen.

Although he felt rather annoyed that someone was replacing him by his sister’s side, he had to admit that this future brother-in-law was quite a suitable fit.

On hearing this, Jian Qing headed for the kitchen.

As soon as she stepped into the kitchen, she smelled a faint aroma.

“Xiaojing!” She went up to him, her eyes shining brightly as she stared at the boiling fish congee in the pot.

“It will be ready soon. Drink the milk first.” He handed her the milk that had been prepared on the side.

Jian Qing felt a warmth in her heart. She took the cup and gulped down the milk in one go.

“By the way, I forgot to ask you yesterday. What did you discuss with my grandfather in the study room?” She curiously asked as she put down the cup.

Quan Jingwu raised an eyebrow at her, “Want to know?”

She nodded, “Or else, why would I ask you?”

“A kiss and I’ll tell you.” He leaned towards her, his handsome face approaching her.

Jian Qing glanced at him, gave a peck on his cheek, and said, “Is that enough?”

“It’s not sincere enough.” He shook his head.

“Then what do I have to do to make it sincere enough?” Jian Qing asked, biting her lip.

What a nuisance so early in the morning.

“Obviously, it’s like this.” He leaned forward, grabbing the back of her head and kissed her lips.

A faint taste of milk spread across her lips, Quan Jingwu’s purple eyes gradually deepened.

“Xiaojing, what if somebody comes in later?” Jian Qing was keeping an eye on the outside, afraid that they might be caught.

If it were outsiders, she wouldn’t be scared, but it was terrifying if they were caught by their own family members.

Quan Jingwu let go of her, his breath slightly unstable. His husky voice asked, “My dear, have your periods ended?”

Calculating in his mind, it seemed like it has been seven days already.

Jian Qing blushed, lightly hit his chest and said, “What are you thinking?”

Could he keep it clean during the day?

“Maybe I should verify it myself.” For this gentleman, teasing could be fatal at times.

As his hand reached for her, Jian Qing quickly grabbed his hand and in annoyance said, “They’ve ended, they’ve ended. Are you satisfied now?”

Verify what? He just couldn’t act properly.

Quan Jingwu smiled satisfyingly, with one hand still around her waist, “Of course, I’m satisfied.”

Having not ‘eaten meat’ for almost a week, having such a soft and warm body in his arms every night, the tantalizing feeling was driving him mad.

He didn’t want to take any more cold showers anymore.
