?Chapter 358: 344, She Won’t Take the Blame (2)_1 Chapter 358: 344, She Won’t Take the Blame (2)_1 “Master, it’s a call from Miss Jian Qing.”
Aunty Autumn held out his mobile to him.
Zhou Qi and the others’ expressions suddenly darkened. An Yu, who had been about to leave, stopped in his tracks before retreating.
The grandparents were already biased towards Jian Qing. She couldn’t let Jian Qing impress them further, otherwise her status in the grandparents’ eyes would be even lower.
The old master’s eyes shimmered with an anticipative gleam as he took the mobile. “Little Qing!” he called.
Listening to what Jian Qing said over the phone, his smile broadened and became more joyful. “Your presence is enough, you don’t need to bring anything. I’ve been discharged the hospital and have returned to the mansion. Just come straight here.”
He held on to the mobile, a wide smile spreading across his face.
Jian Qing is coming?
Ning Feng exchanged a glance before unanimously looking in the direction of Mo Xiao.
Mo Xiao glanced up and coolly surveyed them both, his icy stare making them quickly look away.
Oh no! His stare is dangerous.
Even though gossip is important, their lives are paramount:
After hanging up, the smile on old master’s face lingered. “Aqiu, tell the kitchen to prepare a little more food for lunch, and some snacks.”
“Yes,” Aunty Autumn agreed respectfully.
Mo Xiao gave old master a suspicious glance. In his impression, the old master rarely was this solicitous towards someone of a younger generation.
This kind of treatment was seemingly reserved for Jian Qing and no one else from An Yun’s generation shared such privilege.
Zhou Qi and his group felt both uncomfortable and envious as soon as they heard that Jian Qing would be coming today, but they didn’t dare to speak their minds.
They dared to be angry, but not to voice it.
…
At the other side, Jian Qing, who had just finished calling the old master, threw her phone away and climbed back to her cozy bed.
The door swung open and a tall figure stepped over its threshold, the man’s deep gaze focused on the mound formed on the bed by Jian Qing curling herself up under the covers. His thin lips curved into a spoiled smile.
He strolled to the bedside and outstretched his arm to pull the whiled away Jian Qing out from under the covers.
Jian Qing’s hair cascaded in disarray around her shoulders as she blearily looked at the person who stole her covers.
“What’s wrong?”
She growled. The way the question fell in his ears was like a feather grazing his heart, making his eyes deepen instantly.
He lowered his body, his hands supporting him on either side of her. “Don’t you want breakfast?
“I have no energy,” she retorted, her gaze meeting his accusingly.
She had thought he would behave himself last night, but by the time midnight rolled around, she realized she had thought too much.
The man was fundamentally incompatible with the idea of being “obedient”.
The woman before him had dewy eyes filled with irritation, and her pink mouth was opening and closing as though inviting him to have a taste.
No use resisting temptation.
He leaned in, lowering his head slightly to peck her soft lips.
“Hey, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
Jian Qing smacked his chest and indignantly muttered.
Quan Jingwu laughed off her rebuke, his large hand messing up her hair atop her head. “It’s fine, I don’t mind.”
Jian Qing gently huffed, “Carry me to the bathroom.”
She stretched out her hands in order to be carried.
A low chuckle sounded from his lips as he lifted her in his arms, with Jian Qing lazily nestled into his embrace.
Once they arrived at the bathroom, Jian Qing shut him out of the room immediately.
She joked that if she let him in, he probably wouldn’t have left in time to get on with the day.
She was known for being quick at freshening up and was done in barely a moment.
When she came out, the man was still in the room.
“Don’t you need to go to work today?”
“I will drop you off at the An family’s first,” he replied.
Jian Qing gave a smile and walked towards her wardrobe to pick out an outfit.
She began to undo the buttons of her shirt, and as she undid the first one, she noticed something was off.
She looked up, and the man on the couch was watching her with an amusing smirk on his face.
“Why haven’t you left yet?”
She was wearing his shirt, and underneath that, she had nothing on.
Couldn’t he be more considerate and turn away?
“My legs hurt. I can’t move,” he said, his face giving away nothing.
Jian Qing fought back the anger that was brewing. “…”
Fine, she wasn’t going to bicker with him over it.
She would change in the bathroom.
She picked up her clothes then started heading towards the bathroom.
Quan Jingwu anticipated her actions and got up to block her path.
“Didn’t you change in front of me last time? Are you shy this time?” He grabbed her back to him.
“Shy my ass,” Jian Qing stomped onto his foot with disdain.
Unlike him, she couldn’t stroll around the room shirtless.
“Hurry up and let go of me, we’ll be late if we delay any further.”
Quan Jingwu looked at the reddened skin around her collarbone, his eyes darkening and his voice turning husky, “I’ll help you. Alright?”
His deep, magnetic voice was enough to make her heart skip beats, even more so when he slightly lifted the ends of his sentence in question.
Jian Qing shot him a glance before rebuking him, “No.”
With that, she crawled out from his arms and bolted into the bathroom.
And then she shut the door and locked it.
Quan Jingwu look at his now empty arms, a rare moment of self-reflection taking over him.
Did he really go overboard, to the point he scared his darling?
But, this thought only lingered in his mind for one second, before he shook it off.
Impossible, he was under control.
So, there was only one reason left –
His darling needed to work on fitness.
Yes, that’s it. It must be that.
Good thing Jian Qing wasn’t aware of his thoughts. Otherwise, she would’ve strangled him to death. What did he mean by her not being fit? It’s clear that he was being a beast that couldn’t control himself.
She was absolutely not going to bear the responsibility for his actions.
After breakfast, they dawdled around for a bit, and finally set off for the day.
Just when they stepped out, his good mood got dampened.
“Miss Jian, here are your flowers, um… will you sign for them?” The delivery person, feeling the temperature dropping around them, didn’t dare to meet the gaze of the man who’s eyes were as cold as ice.
It’s not even winter yet, yet he can feel a chill running up his spine from his toes to his brain.
Jian Qing looked at the large bouquet of roses. Judging by the number of roses, there were probably ninety-nine of them.
She could sense a burning jealousy coming off of the person next to her. Hurriedly, she reached out and gave his hand a small, soothing squeeze.
Choking back his urge to throw the delivery boy, Quan Jingwu asked him in his low, ice-cold voice, “Who ordered you to deliver these flowers?”
The delivery boy, holding the roses, was starting to break down under the glare that seemed as if it would devour him.
Though he was an ordinary clerk, this level of intimidation was uncalled for.
“I am not sure about that. A gentleman called our shop to order the flowers and told us to send a bouquet of roses to this address every day,” he explained.
Jian Qing looked at the roses in his hand indifferently.”You can take them back. And don’t bother delivering them in the future.”
“But…” The delivery boy looked hesitant.
The customer is always right. After accepting their money, they had to deliver the flowers.
