Chapter 381 - 381 367 Candid (1) _1
?Chapter 381: 367, Candid (1) _1 Chapter 381: 367, Candid (1) _1 One silver and one black, two lavish cars drove into Shijin Haoting one after the other.
Mo Xiao watched the silver sports car disappearing from his sight, his thin lips tightly pressed.
Moments later, the car halted.
“Master, we’re here!”
Ning Feng got out of the car, went around to the other side, and opened the car door.
Mo Xiao regained his composure, hid the pain in his eyes, and stepped out of the car.
Ning Feng and Xing Sen followed him into the house. It had been years since their last visit; every corner of the house was covered in dust.
Xing Sen and Ning Feng opened all the windows downstairs to ventilate the house.
Mo Xiao did not care about the mess, went straight upstairs.
“Where’s the master?”
Xing Sen walked out from the kitchen, glancing at the living room only to find Mo Xiao’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
Ning Feng pointed upstairs, and before he could speak a door slamming shut echoed from above.
Xing Sen scratched his head, looking helpless towards him, “What do we do now? Shall we go and comfort the master?”
Ning Feng’s gaze was filled with contempt. “If you want to go, go by yourself, I can’t persuade the master.”
A broken heart is something nobody can repair.
“What should we do?” Xing Sen asked.
Ning Feng shrugged his shoulders, “First, order someone to clean this place, we may have to stay in Beijing for a long time, we probably won’t return to M Country for a while.”
Xing Sen nodded.
“I’ll handle the documents from M Country. Watch over the master,” he continued to say.
At this point, the master looks so desolate that they suspected it would be a long time before he would attend to any matters in M Country. He could only take on the responsibility for the time being.
Xing Sen, “I understand.”
Ning Feng turned to glance upstairs, and let out a sigh.
When would this storm finally end?
…
The sky grew darker, with faint stars scattered across the night sky.
After dinner, Jian Qing remained seated in the living room for a while, with Quan Jingwu silently accompanying her. His muscular arm curled protectively around her, letting her lean on him.
After a while, Jian Qing moved. She picked up her phone, her eyes flashing with determination.
“Have you decided, hmm?” Quan Jingwu lowered his eyes to look at her, his voice deep and low.
She nodded slightly. If this morning’s event hadn’t happened, she might not have been so quick to tell Luoluo everything.
But now, she thought, Luoluo had a right to know too.
She rose and walked towards the courtyard with the phone.
Quan Jingwu did not follow. He sat on the sofa and watched her retreating figure, his eyes filled with a shallow ripple.
In the courtyard, the early winter had started to set in, causing once vibrant flowers to wilt.
The air was chilly and bleak.
Jian Qing leaned against a large pillar and dialed Grandpa Jian’s number.
The phone didn’t even ring twice before being answered.
“Grandpa!” she called softly.
Hearing Jian Qing’s voice, the old man on the other end chuckled warmly, trying to hide the pleasure in his voice, “Little Qingqing, what made you call me at this hour?”
Jian Qing’s eyes sparkled, “Grandpa, is Luoluo home?”
“That boy just returned home yesterday. He’s here playing chess with me,” Grandpa Jian laughed, then he put the phone on speaker.
Jian Luo, hearing this, rolled his eyes indelicately.
Complaining about him in front of everyone, was that really necessary?
“Sister, Grandpa keeps cheating. You should scold him,” he retorted defiantly over the phone.
Grandpa Jian was so annoyed his mustache twitched, “You little brat, what do you know about respecting your elders?”
“…”
If he had no respect, would he have let him undo his moves all morning?
Just because he was patient.
If it was anyone else, they would have flipped the table already.
Jian Qing listened silently, not able to crack a smile.
“Sis, do you have something on your mind?” Jian Luo put the chess pieces back into the box and asked gently.
They couldn’t quite explain it as telepathy but the connection between them as twins was somehow deeper.
After a moment of silence, Jian Qing spoke, “Grandpa, there is something I want to ask.”
Her unusual solemnity made both Grandpa Jian and Jian Luo tense.
“Grandpa, did mom ever mention having a man she loved?”
Mentioning Jian Wei out of the blue left Grandpa Jian dumbstruck, “What, what?”
Loved?
“Grandpa, think carefully, did mom ever mention to you about a man she loved?” she asked patiently.
Without hesitation, Grandpa Jian answered emphatically, “No.”
Knowing his precious daughter, how could there be a man she was interested in that he wouldn’t know about?
Her lips pursed, she said, “Are you sure there wasn’t?”
“Little Qingqing, did you discover something?” Grandpa Jian asked, “There were many people who pursued Weiwei, but none of them pleased her, she never mentioned that she liked anyone…”
He paused, “However, when Weiwei went to hunt down the members of that criminal organization, she mentioned to me that she would give your grandma and me a surprise when she got back.”
Could it be that during that time, some scoundrel had caught her attention?
Jian Qing’s face relaxed, she said slowly, “Grandpa, there’s something I need to tell you both.”
Hearing this, Grandpa Jian and Jian Luo exchanged glances, a heavy feeling sank in their hearts.
The pale moonlight flickered in the courtyard, a cool breeze blew, rustling Jian Qing’s hair.
She calmly recounted the events of the past two days, every single detail. On the other end of the phone, Grandpa Jian and Jian Luo were stone cold.
After a long pause, the voice on the phone stopped, leaving only fragile breathing sounds.
Jian Luo clenched his fists, his warm eyes devoid of any traces of humor, his handsome face was shrouded in a dark cloud.
At this moment, he was feeling quite complex.
He knew that if his sister had said so, then it must be an undeniable fact.
However, he never ever expected that An Zhe would turn out to be their father and more importantly, that there was such a secretive relationship between An Zhe and their mother.
“Sis, did he, really love mom?” His voice was hoarse.
After a moment’s consideration, Jian Qing replied quietly, “In the photograph, mom looks very happy.”
That happiness wasn’t superficial but a smile that came from the bottom of her heart.
Upon hearing this, Jian Luo fell silent.
That man had been so devastated upon hearing the news of their mother’s death that he vomited blood. How deep must his feelings have been for her?
But why did it have to be a man from the An family?
After so much, they were still connected to the An family.
“Little Qingqing, what do you plan to do?” Grandpa Jian took a deep breath and asked gravely.
Even if that man had a past relationship with their beloved Weiwei, so what? The An family was responsible for Weiwei’s death, for their sorrow of having to bury their own child; his wife cried all day and eventually passed away from depression; it caused Little Qingqing and Luoluo to lose their mother at a young age. He, Jian Qing, would get revenge no matter what.
