?Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Don’t Move_1 Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Don’t Move_1 Jian Qing, thoroughly satisfied with her breakfast, reached out to clean up the table. However, as soon as she picked up the bag, she was stopped by the person next to her.
“You don’t need to clean up, just leave it be,” Quan Jingwu took the bag from her and set it aside.
“Does your stomach still hurt?”
Jian Qing offered a slight smile, “I’m fine now.”
It was curious; as long as she was full, she felt perfectly healthy, with no trace of stomach ache at all.
Quan Jingwu hummed in response, relieved in his heart.
“Mister Jing, thank you for the breakfast,” Jian Qing looked at him, her smile more genuine.
Quan Jingwu’s eyes darkened and there was a hint of dissatisfaction on his handsome face, “You made another mistake.”
Understanding his implications, Jian Qing’s eyes crinkled, “Isn’t this the second time you said this? Are you really so particular about the way you’re addressed?”
“Yeah.” Quan Jingwu nodded.
Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh aloud. It turns out that even a cold character like Mister Jing had a caring and rather cute side. This was indeed a surprise for her.
“Xiao Jing, thank you for the breakfast.” Jian Qing suppressed her laughter, speaking gently.
Her bright, radiant smile caught Quan Jingwu’s eye. Unexpectedly, he reached out and fondly tousled her hair.
Jian Qing’s smile froze for a moment, startled by his sudden action. Quan Jingwu was a bit irritated with his own impulsiveness, but having made the move, he had no regrets. He returned his hand, calmly stating, “Your hair was a bit messy.”
Her heartbeat skipped, her lips making a small noise of agreement..
The subtle warmth lingered between them. Just as Jian Qing was about to leave, a knock at the door interrupted them.
“Enter.” Quan Jingwu commanded coldly.
The door slowly opened and Shen Hao appeared, followed by two others.
Shen Hao glanced covertly at Quan Jingwu. Seeing he hadn’t disturbed Boss’s pleasant moment, he sighed in relief.
Jian Qing noticed two gazes looking at her. She looked up and realized the two people who’d come in with Shen Hao were staring at her.
She didn’t recall knowing them…
“Boss, Miss Jian.” Shen Hao called deferentially, with Qin Rui and Mingdong following quietly behind.
Upon hearing that Jian Qing was in Quan Jingwu’s office, their curiosity couldn’t be curbed. They were eager to see Jian Qing in person, but they couldn’t all barge into the office together. If they scared their future lady, they’d be facing Boss’s wrath.
Thus, for fairness, they went for the usual method, rock-paper-scissors. The three winners got the opportunity to come to the office, asking resulted in the current scene.
Jian Qing had met Shen Hao several times. But it was her first time meeting Qin Rui and Mingdong. She responded with a courteous nod, the corners of her mouth curving up in her characteristic aloof smile.
Mingdong and Qin Rui exchanged glances, simultaneously sighing in admiration. Indeed, the reality lived up to the hype; such a commanding presence she had.
They swore, she was the only one who could sit beside Boss without being overshadowed by him… a perfect match.
Jian Qing glanced at Shen Hao and the others before turning to Quan Jingwu, “I’ll be going now.”
Quan Jingwu’s cool eyebrows knitted slightly. He glanced at Shen Hao and the others, seemingly dissatisfied with their interruption.
“Mm-hm.”
Upon receiving Quan Jingwu’s disapproving gaze, Shen Hao and the others inwardly thought, “Uh-oh.” They had unintentionally interrupted their Boss’s pleasant time. They were in trouble now.
Just as Jian Qing was about to step out, something occurred to her. She turned towards Quan Jingwu, her gaze falling on the hat by his hand and extended her pale palm towards him.
“My hat.”
Quan Jingwu picked up the hat with his slender fingers and stood up. He bridged the gap between them in a stride, bringing his cold, refreshing scent closer to Jian Qing.
“You…” Jian Qing reflexively stepped back, only to have her arm caught by his hand.
“Don’t move.” Quan Jingwu muttered above her.
Shen Hao and the others widened their eyes, watching the scene unfold between Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing. They were clearly eager to see what happens next, with Mingdong especially excited, propping his chin in his hands and observing enthusiastically.
Alas, their boss was so imposing, shamelessly displaying affection in public… He’d really make a good boyfriend, wouldn’t he?
As Jian Qing tried to utter a word, a shadow loomed over her head.
“All done.” Quan Jingwu let go of her hand and calmly announced.
So he was just going to put on her hat for her. Jian Qing blinked and wondered. Weren’t there rumors that he was ice-cold and unapproachable?
Could the rumors be wrong?
Jian Qing remembered that Yifei was still waiting for her at the photo studio and didn’t think much. To avoid any further unexpected situations, she hurriedly bid Quan Jingwu goodbye and left.
As Jian Qing left, Shen Hao and the others felt their hearts race, knowing they had to pay for watching this drama unfold.
As expected, the very next moment, Quan Jingwu’s cold voice filled the room like a chill wind, “It seems you three have quite a lot of free time, hmm?”
“No, absolutely not.” Shen Hao and the others shook their heads in unity, an unusual display of solidarity.
Quan Jingwu shot them a cold glance, then continued, “Mingdong, clean up the table. Shen Hao, Qin Rui, handle the papers on the office desk.”
Upon hearing his words, the expressions of Shen Hao and the others turned bitter. They mourned.
They knew their Boss couldn’t stand others having fun.
Shen Hao, unwilling to give up, asked grudgingly, “Boss, where are you going later?”
“Photo Studio,” came the three-worded reply. Without turning back, Quan Jingwu left the office, leaving Shen Hao and the others behind.
“What is the world coming to?! Why am I so unlucky?!” Qin Rui collapsed on the sofa, lamenting the meaninglessness of life.
Shen Hao and Mingdong nodded gloomily. They resolved not to watch their Boss’s drama next time. It was too depressing.
