Chapter 49 - 49 49 what do you think

?Chapter 49: 49, what do you think? Chapter 49: 49, what do you think? Quan Jingwu, with his striking violet eyes, furrowed his brows at the sight of the cheerful pair chatting not far away, a shadow of disapproval flickering in his eyes.

Khan, who was peppered with laughter while he was engaged with Jian Qing, suddenly felt a chill up his spine. He scanned his surroundings but found nothing out of the ordinary. He scratched his head, left wondering if his imagination was playing tricks.

“CEO, would you like to see the photographs taken by Jian Qing?” Quan Yifei approached Quan Jingwu, and noticed his gaze was fixed on Jian Qing. Following his gaze, she noticed the animated conversation between Khan and Jian Qing, which planted a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.

God, was Khan actually interested in Jian Qing?

Could her third brother have gotten wind of this, and specifically came to ward off a love rival?

Quan Jingwu gracefully nodded and moved to sit on a nearby sofa. His gaze fell on the television screen in front of him. An indifferent glance later, his eyes drifted subtly back onto Jian Qing.

The arrival of Quan Jingwu meant that everyone in the Photo Studio held their breath. Everyone worked with unprecedented seriousness, the tension in the atmosphere taut like a drawn bowstring.

Jian Qing, unphased as always, continued with the shoot. Seeing this, Khan stepped aside to observe.

“Miss Ruohan, this is for you,” the assistant handed a cup of coffee to Chu Ruohan, while glancing towards Quan Jingwu for some signal.

Chu Ruohan hesitated for a moment, and then clandestinely admired his stoic features while trying to conceal the resolve in her own eyes. She took the coffee without any further hesitation.

Inhaling deeply to steady herself, Chu Ruohan marched towards Quan Jingwu in her towering heels.

She persuaded herself not to be nervous, and that she can do this.

Quan Jingwu had Jian Qing monopolizing his attention; he didn’t notice Chu Ruohan’s movements. But Quan Yifei did, and chose not to intervene. Her eyes sparkled with suppressed laughter when she saw the coffee in Chu Ruohan’s hand.

Well, it seemed someone was about to put on a desolately unrequited love act. This should be a good show, and it might even throw light on whether Jian Qing maintained any semblance of consideration for her brother.

Quan Yifei, resigned to watching the drama unfold, settled back to watch the shoot.

“Jingwu,” Chu Ruohan softly called out to Quan Jingwu. His stunning profile and his proximity made her heart race.

The already tall Chu Ruohan, with her statement heels, stood almost at a towering 1.8 meters. Her long and slender legs glowed under the light, earning her envious glances from female staff members. Men, too, watched her with unwavering attention. Chu Ruohan was very confident about her appearance and carried herself with the regality of a swan in front of Quan Jingwu.

Quan Jingwu looked at Jian Qing, the only person who could make his heart flutter. In the corner of his sensuous lips, a hint of an indulgent smile played, barely noticeable. Not a shred of attention was given to Chu Ruohan’s arrival.

Quan Yifei, hearing the soft voice calling “Jingwu,” got goosebumps all over. She rubbed her arms to shake off the creepy feeling.

God, that voice was toxic, nauseating her to the core. Was Chu Ruohan out of her mind, trying to charm her brother with just a pair of long legs and a pretty face? If such lowly tactics affected him, how did he get a reputation for being uninterested in women?

Seeing Quan Jingwu unmoved, Chu Ruohan felt like someone poured a bucket of cold water on her, and turned visibly upset.

Her coffee-free hand clenched into a fist, the knuckles turning white under stress. She forced herself to speak again, “Jingwu,” but her voice drowned in bitterness.

Continually interrupted, Quan Jingwu let out a sigh, raised his eye and looked at Chu Ruohan, who was trying hard to appear sweet and charming, oozing innocence.

Quan Jingwu gave Chu Ruohan a frosty look, then parted his sexy, scarlet lips to speak in a frigid voice that could freeze December’s cold winds, “Who are you?”

Three words, just three words were enough to freeze Chu Ruohan to the core. Looking into his violet-tinged eyes, she saw unmistakable annoyance and held back tears that threatened to spill.

Quan Yifei discreetly turned away, unsuccessfully trying to suppress her laughter, her body shaking with mirth. Seeing this, Lin Yun was left perplexed.

“Manager, are you alright?” Lin Yun asked in a hushed voice, “Are you having a seizure?” If not, why would she be shaking like that?

Quan Yifei nearly died laughing at her assistant’s concern, and gave Lin Yun a glare, “What nonsense are you spouting? Do I look like I’m having a seizure?”

She was in perfect health, okay? And she certainly did not need speculative comments.

Under the Manager’s threatening gaze, Lin Yun reluctantly fell silent, thinking to herself that Quan Yifei’s behavior was strangely similar to a seizure. Why could she not call it out?

“Jingwu, are you thirsty? Here, this is for you.” Chu Ruohan, unwilling to give up this rare opportunity to be so close with him, forced a warm smile on her face.

Quan Jingwu glanced at the coffee offered to him, but didn’t reach out to take it, curtly refusing, “I don’t need it.”

Chu Ruohan lost color upon the cold refusal. Her hand trembled slightly while still holding the coffee. Everyone in the studio watched the unfolding drama, sly glances towards Chu Ruohan turning into sympathy.

Quan Yifei noticed Jian Qing’s undivided focus on the shoot- she hadn’t even bothered to spare a glance in their direction. Seeing Chu Ruohan looking crestfallen, Quan Yifei shook her head in resignation.

She decided it was best to let things be as they were. A spectacle of such magnitude might bring her grandfather and Mr. Chu’s unwanted curiosities. The last thing she wanted was her grandfather poking his nose into this affair.

With a sigh, Quan Yifei rose to receive the coffee with a polite smile, “Miss Ruohan, my third brother might not be thirsty right now. You should focus on preparing for the shoot, it will be your turn soon.”

Chu Ruohan glanced at Quan Jingwu, who didn’t offer her any reason to stay, and then reluctantly left. The assistant, who was fueling the flame earlier, seeing the change in situation, decided to stay away from Chu Ruohan.

Jian Qing was oblivious to Chu Ruohan’s actions. The model being shot, An Yu, was distracted for the fifth time when Jian Qing finally put down her camera without any signs of anger. Her eyes darted towards Quan Jingwu who was not too far away.

Indeed, this was an unfortunate triangle…
“Miss An, I think you are not a suitable choice for this jewelry shot.” Jian Qing show a faint smile towards Khan, “What do you think, Khan?”

At these words, everyone in the room was taken aback. An Yu, who was originally distracted, snapped back to reality. She turned pale hearing Jian Qing’s blunt words.
