My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 115: Inheritance Hall

Chapter 115: Inheritance Hall

Ely’s disciples spent nearly two hours taking sample images for research while descending to the tower’s ground floor.

There was a hidden staircase to the underground floor, but Sylvia blocked Uriel from going there. "I don’t suggest you go there."

"Why?" Uriel stared at Sylvia’s face in confusion.

"There are too many evil spirits and ghosts. We’ve only encountered a few weak ghosts, but going underground is different. This Hell Realm is dangerous, especially in sealed and cursed places." Sylvia shook her head, then went to Ely’s side.

Everyone visited the broken temple to find clues about Sylvia’s demonic arts origin.

Ely cleared the path easily because her abilities were super effective against evil creatures.

"!!!" The surrounding ghosts and evil spirits didn’t know what had happened. They were suddenly obliterated when the floating paper was close enough to them.

"!~" Ely hummed melodiously when she controlled several talismans.

She was clueless about the surrounding ghosts, and evil spirits were frightened when they saw her. They considered her a walking disaster.

"Why are there only weak ghosts and evil spirits around this site? This should be the core area of this realm, right?" Yuuki asked while freezing the path they would take to avoid the lava.

"The stronger ones owned the territory, and this area belonged to the big evil. I don’t even dare to venture too far into this hell. Can you feel the danger in the surrounding area?" Sylvia looked around.

"..." Everyone fell silent, including Ely. They could feel the hidden danger in all directions, occasionally making them want to run instantly.

"???" Sylvia was perplexed when she found her dragon pet wasn’t nearby.

She used her perception to search for Noir, and he just happened to be a few hundred meters away. The little magma black dragon was rolling around in the hot lava river like he was taking a bath.

"You, come here. Although somewhat similar, this is not your playground." Sylvia beckoned her dragon pet to come closer.

"???" Noir was clueless about what was going on. He was already bathed there for an hour, and his master had just noticed it.

*Rumble* *Rumble*

An earthquake occurred. Lava gushed out of the ground and flowed like a tide.

"Quickly go to the temple! A particular massive monster is moving underground." Sylvia immediately flew to the temple.

Ely, Yuuki, and everyone immediately followed. Noir also panicked and flew after his master.

At that moment, Ely and everyone else could see several big demonic beasts around the distant volcanoes. The monsters were running from something.

The ground shook more violently, and then a large amount of lava rose up into the sky. Several massive worm-like monsters devoured the big demonic beasts, then immediately plunged back into the hot lava.

"What, what’s that?" Uriel asked with a slight stutter.

"That’s one of the inhabitants of this hell. The 9th Rank lava worm. There are still many powerful hell creatures. It is quite safe here because this area can be considered sacred ground belonging to the big evil." Sylvia shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"..." Ely was at a loss for words. The full exploration has a relatively small chance of surviving. The dangers hidden within the Artificial Hell Realm were indeed terrifying.

However, they were only there to deal with Sylvia’s demonic arts. Therefore, Ely immediately turned around and entered the temple with everyone.

It was the ruins, and there was nothing in the first hall but rubbles. After walking a few hundred meters, they arrived at a main corridor.

The path was lit by a flame-like blue crystal. There were no traps, lethal formation arrays, or harmful mechanisms because Sylvia had deactivated them years ago.

They went straight to the hall where Sylvia learned the ancient demonic arts.

Amidst the hall’s darkness, a blue flame descended from the ceiling. It then expanded into a big blue fire demon’s head.

"Welcome to the inheritance hall, challengers. I-" The blue fire hadn’t finished talking, but a devil girl suddenly shot up and punched him.

"Keep your mouth shut, bastard! I’m sick of hearing your ramblings. I learned your flawed inheritance, and it’s driving me crazy!" Sylvia pulled out the original blue fire ghost from his big blue fire demon’s head manifestation, then beat him up.

The blue fire ghost tried to run away, but he couldn’t escape the devil girl’s clutches. He tried to counterattack, but his blue fire had no impact.

"Ouch! Aargh! Please, ugh, mercy, milady! I’m just the inheritance hall’s guardian ghost!" The blue fire ghost screamed in pain and begged for mercy. However, Sylvia ignored his plea. But she realized something.

"Oh, so you’re not that big evil?" Sylvia was momentarily stunned.

Upon closer inspection, this blue fire ghost was too weak to compare with the evil energy that Ely annihilated several hours ago. Ely also called that big evil as Evil God’s soul remnant.

Since this weak ghost was just nobody, Sylvia tied the ghost with her blood threads and whipped him several times.

"..." Ely covered her mouth in surprise. Since the previous revenge event, she came to know Sylvia was pretty sadistic.

"I think that’s enough." Yuuki patted Sylvia’s shoulder from behind, then threw an icicle at the pitiful blue fire ghost to freeze half his spiritual body.

"!!!" The blue fire ghost was taken aback. He was a supernatural creature, a ghost and a fire at that. But someone could beat him up and freeze him like a random object...

[Ijen (FV: 120) | 5th Rank Late Stage]

[Talent: 2 Stars | Rare]

Ely checked that beaten blue fire ghost’s status screen. He was just a random talking ghost, not the Evil God of Artificial Hell’s soul remnant.

"He’s just a guardian ghost. Did you meet him when you were here a few years ago?" Ely looked right and left to inspect the entire hall.

Nothing was inside the hall except debris, a few headless stone statues, obelisks, and pillars. Everything has lots of carvings and inscriptions on it, including the walls. The God-tier inheritance that Sylvia learned came from there. The flawed ancient demonic arts...

"The summoning magic and some ancient blood techniques I learned came from there. I want to learn another ancient demonic art, but I must first overcome its drawbacks." Sylvia silenced the blue fire ghost with threads of blood, then ushered Ely to one of the obelisks.

"Let me take a look. Come here. Help me inspect the ancient carving over here." Ely invited her disciples to help her.

Uriel and Azrael came closer. Everyone then followed because they were curious as well.

Even though it was the ancient writings of a previous civilization, someone in the current era could still understand what was written there.

The Tearobis Great Continent had several different languages, but everyone used one common standard language. The carvings and inscriptions over there somehow used the current era’s standard language... not ancient language.

"..." Ely folded her arms and stroked her chin as she inspected the inscriptions. Her Eyes of Truth passive skill did its job to help her comprehend it more deeply.

She could understand that something was wrong with the techniques taught there. The magic techniques had flaws, the methods had fatal errors, and the techniques would install a strange formation to one’s body. It would bring nothing but harm.

No wonder Sylvia could fall into demonic nature. These ancient demonic arts were supposedly given to the vassal. This kind of demonic art would regulate control and influence, just like how one would manage the slave’s life to avoid betrayal.

The Evil God would make Sylvia his vessel, which started with this kind of ancient demonic art. Luckily, she had removed the control from Sylvia’s body and sealed everything that had to do with the evil energy. Thus, the flawed God-tier inheritance could do nothing to Sylvia.

"Err..." Uriel shook her head. She could see it was demonic art, but she didn’t understand it, let alone find the flaws from there. She then looked at Azrael.

"..." Azrael just scratched his head because he could see nothing but the complexity in those demonic arts. He was a simple man, and this technique made him dizzy.

"Although these demonic arts can help a demon progress further with powerful techniques, it carries a fatal risk. This inheritance hall is reserved for the Evil God’s vassals. There is potent subordination. The controls and influences to one’s life." Ely announced something with a solemn tone. She warned Sylvia.

"!!!" Uriel and Azrael immediately moved away from the inscriptions. They erased what they had just read far from their memories.

"What?" Sylvia gasped in surprise.

"I already said it. It would be best if you abolished the flawed demonic arts. What are ancient magic and techniques? You will have countless opportunities when the almighty is unsealed." Yuuki snorted sarcastically.

"It’s okay. We have removed the control. We can overcome the other flaws, especially for you, but don’t learn any more flawed demonic arts from this hall." Ely heaved a subtle sigh.

She still could do something with it as she knew Sylvia didn’t want to abolish the roots of this flawed inheritance even if she asked to.

"Un..." Sylvia nodded several times. She only studied the ancient blood demonic arts and summoning techniques.

"When we arrived, he addressed us as the challengers. So, he will guide anyone who comes to practice the demonic arts in this hall, then maybe send them for the Hell Trial. However, why could you leave after learning the demonic arts here?" Ely stared at the blue fire ghost with some suspicion.

"Hmm... Yeah, I just went straight out of this hell realm." Sylvia also wondered.

"Hmgh! Mff..." The blue fire ghost spoke something incomprehensible as several blood threads still covered his mouth.

He was surprised because the devil young master could discover the inheritance hall’s secret just by observing the inscriptions for a few minutes.
