My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 143: Never Let Her Alone

Chapter 143: Never Let Her Alone

"What’s wrong with those people? Why are they suddenly swarming us like ants to sugar?" Ely asked in wonder.

"It might have something to do with Sacred Sakura’s recent prestige and accomplishments. Our Saint Sakura is considered everyone’s idol, and they are delighted when Sacred Sakura’s holy saintess suddenly appears among them." Jophiel came up with the most plausible reason.

"Hmm, so that’s it. Then, let’s end our stroll here."

"Yes, master."

"Anyway, where did Sylvi take Gab-chan, hmm... Let’s visit them. It’s been a few hours since they left."

"They’re probably in our secret headquarters branch."

After that conversation, Ely and Jophiel walked towards a magnificent five-story building. It was a chamber of commerce, but nobody could tell it was also the Guardian of Dream’s secret headquarters branch.

Meanwhile, news of Sacred Sakura’s holy saintess’ arrival spread like wildfire. Frozen Cloud’s intel and Blood Moon’s secret agent also caught the information.

The higher-ups from the two sacred lands had been waiting for news about the Sacred Sakura Holy Land.

They wished to visit the Sacred Sakura Holy Land to discuss matters related to the Tiangong Sacred Land. However, Sacred Sakura was still so mysterious despite its enormous power.

Because Sacred Sakura’s holy saintess was spotted, Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace and Blood Moon Pavilion immediately sent their respective saintess to the Reustin City.

*Zap*

A beautiful white-haired elf clad in a bluish-white traditional dress with an ice and snow pattern appeared in the Reustin City’s teleportation array. She was Frozen Cloud’s saintess, Shui Meiying. She came to this city to meet and befriend Sacred Sakura’s holy saintess.

She didn’t come alone. Three great elders also came to accompany her on this mission.

*Zap*

Another group came to Reustin City via the teleportation array as well. They were from the Blood Moon Pavilion led by a saintess and three great elders.

Shui Meiying turned around. Her icy-blue eyes stared quietly at the girl in a luxury embroidery red dress.

It was the first time she met Blood Moon’s saintess, but she had already learned about the other party beforehand.

Feng Mingyue, the youngest daughter of the Blood Moon Pavilion’s patriarch. A treasured princess and the saintess from the Scarlet Domain Secret Realm.

Blood Moon’s saintess was an eighteen-year-old girl with an exquisite appearance and a beautiful face that words could hardly describe.

She was blessed with snowy creamy skin, beautiful eyes that billow like scarlet ripples, long peach-coloured hair from the root, and bright scarlet on the half part to the tip. A double crescent of gold hair ornament adorned her hair.

Although she looked delicate, Feng Mingyue was a 5th Rank expert.

As for Shui Meiying, she was also at 5th Rank, but her stage was higher than Feng Mingyue, and she was older too.

Even so, Shui Meiying still felt that she was the senior. Her beauty and talent were not inferior in any aspect.

On the other hand, Feng Mingyue also observed the beautiful white-haired elf. Her scarlet eyes glistened as she realized it. She encountered the Frozen Cloud’s saintess on her first visit to the Human Realm.

"Greetings, Fairy Shui. It’s a pleasure to meet you here." Feng Mingyue greeted me with a sweet smile.

"The pleasure is mine, Saintess Feng Mingyue. Please cut the formality and call me by my name."

"Sure, Saintess Meiying. You can call me Mingyue."

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, Saintess Mingyue."

After getting acquainted, Shui Meiying and Feng Mingyue left the teleportation array. They also used anti-detection magic items to avoid unnecessary attention. Only those above 7th Rank could spot them.

"They get along well."

"That’s a good thing. Your Frozen Cloud has been continuously improving from your decline ever since you became affiliated with Sacred Sakura."

"Yeah, thank you. There’s been a lot of good things and fortune since we resolved our misunderstanding with Elder Celestial Fox."

"Then, everything is good. Sacred Sakura is our ally too."

"We need to meet Sacred Sakura’s higher-ups soon. We can contact them through Sacred Sakura’s saintess."

"We have the same mission. Are you moving with us?"

"Good."

The Frozen Cloud’s and Blood Moon’s great elders exchanged greetings, then followed their respective saintess as the secret protectors. They had a good relationship since the alliance was formed, thanks to Sacred Sakura.

Ely was clueless about the two saintesses looking for her. She had just arrived at the underground training hall, but Sylvia meditated in a closed room. Gabriella was also there, exhausted and injured.

"Lady Sylvi will be out in a few hours. She needs a moment of peace to comprehend her refined demonic arts." Gabriella waved from the patient’s bed. Her juniors and nurses were treating her injuries.

"What happened to you, Gab-chan? Why do you have so many blisters?" Ely rushed over anxiously.

She immediately checked Gabriella’s condition and then used her healing skill. Fortunately, it was only the light injuries.

"Senior Sister Gabriella was dragged to become Lady Sylvia’s sparring partner..." One of the disciples explained.

"That bad devil is too much. She bullied us too much as well. She could always come to Elder Yuuki for that if she wanted a sparring partner. At the very least, Elder Yuuki could kick her ass." Jophiel harrumphed while pointing at the nearby nine-tailed snow fox.

"Well... Who would have thought she would test her new demonic arts on Gabriella. But, at least she was still going easy on you. It’s good for your experience." Yuuki heaved a subtle sigh.

"How do you feel after sparring with a 10th Rank expert?" Ely breathed a sigh of relief after Gabriella was healed.

"Thank you, master. I received some pointers from her, but she is still a bad devil. Your teaching is still the best." Gabriella propelled her body to sit.

As she recalled it, her master’s teaching was invaluable and unrivalled. She could receive many enlightenments and improvements in just one practice session. Unfortunately, it was usually only once a month.

Training with Sylvia was not too bad, but one thing kept ringing in her head when she became Sylvia’s sparring partner a few minutes ago. Sylvia hinted her something essential and revealed some of her master’s secrets.

---

"Hey, Gab-chan." Sylvia checked her surroundings to ensure it was just her and Gabriella in the training hall. She then imitated Ely’s tone when calling Gabriella.

"Wha-what?" Gabriella was still panting heavily.

"Thank you."

"What’s wrong with you... suddenly thanking me? Is it because I’m willing to be your sparring partner?"

"No, that is your benefit to spar with me. But, I want to thank you for Ely."

"Then, it’s not necessary. My master means the world to me."

"Fufu, is that so? Then, did you see her as the almighty one? Someone invincible?"

"..." Gabriella didn’t answer, but she responded with a silent nod.

"Even so, never let her alone, okay? She protects us, but she also needs protection. That is one of our absolute rules. Even though she is so amazing, she also has weaknesses. Even God isn’t perfect, you know?"

"Um, I knew..."

"Then, let’s continue our sparring session~ You might be able to learn something and improve your sword intent to 5th layer soon!"

"Ugh! At least let me prepare!"

"No enemy let you prepare before they attack~"

After that, Gabriella tried her best to defend herself and fend off Sylvia’s attacks.

---

"Ugh..." Gabriella clutched her head as she recalled that experience.

Even so, she comprehended something from a previous conversation. She previously didn’t have time to think about it, but she was enlightened now.

"Are you okay? Your head still hurts? I’ll scold Sylvi later." Ely checked Gabriella’s head to ensure her precious disciple’s health.

"..." Gabriella was silent but smiled warmly when she saw her master’s worried face.

Her master was sometimes as incredible as a miracle. Yet, her master was sometimes seen as a vulnerable yet tender mother. Sylvia wanted her to know to always protect her master, regardless of any reason.

"Heehee~" Gabriella jumped from the patient’s bed and hugged her master.

"Uh-huh? What’s wrong?" Ely was astonished, then patted Gabriella’s back.

"Thank you, master." Gabriella couldn’t say much, just a thank you with countless happy emotions and warm sentiments in her heart.

Ely just smiled in response and rubbed Gabriella’s back. Since her disciple was happy, she was also delighted.

"Let’s go to the top floor. I want to see the city at night before returning. We also need to wait for Sylvi. Let’s leave a notice for her." Ely invited everyone.

"Let me do it." Yuuki wrote something on the paper and slipped it onto her ice bird. She then put it near the room where Sylvia was meditating.

Ely and everyone left the underground training hall and went to the top floor.

They needed to wait for Sylvia to come out, and Ely wished to watch the nighttime bustle of human’s city. Therefore, everyone accompanied Ely and enjoyed their time in peace with a cup of warm tea.
