Chapter 148: Saintess Friends
Chapter 148: Saintess Friends
Ely expressed her gratitude. Jophiel and her other disciples took the dozens of storage pouches away.
As for what they were going to do with those gifts, she would think about that later.
"Hmph! The Tiangong Sect thought they were something but chose the wrong opponent. Since they wanted to destroy our Sacred Sakura, eliminating them is bound to happen. Since you took the trouble to eradicate that place for us, there’s no need to make a move." Sylvia clenched her fist.
She had heard about how Tiangong Sacred Land offended Ely and Co. If Ely wanted it, she would ravage that place herself.
Because that sacred sect’s higher-ups were wiped out on the battlefield last week, it would be easy to destroy that place. However, Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace and Blood Moon Pavilion joined hands to do so.
Apart from fawning over Sacred Sakura, she knew those two holy lands also intended to plunder treasures and profits from the raid. After all, Frozen Cloud and Blood Moon immediately dispatched a large army right after the great war.
"Tiangong Sacred Land is no more, huh. Then, that’s good." Yuuki muttered softly. She felt no sentiment after knowing that the Tiangong Sacred Land had already been destroyed, and even its mountain was razed to the ground.
However, she learned a lesson from it. If some powerful evil sects would destroy Sacred Sakura, the villains would also destroy their Sacred Mountain. Those who resisted were killed, and everything would be plundered. It wasn’t kind, but this was the world of cultivation and magic.
"Pardon me, but can I ask a slightly sensitive question regarding the aftermath?" Ely spoke in a whisper-like voice and put on a curious expression.
"Sure."
"Um, please let us know."
Shui Meiying and Feng Mingyue were also curious about what bothered Saintess Miko.
"Do you think Tiangong Sacred Land has another great ancestor or perhaps a predecessor? They named their sacred sect the Heavenly Palace, but I suspect there are still more powerful backers there." Ely lays out her suspicions.
"Tiangong Sacred Land’s patriarch is the ancestor. The great ancestor was killed by your senior brother on the battlefield last week, and the ancient demon ancestors took his soul essence away. Could there still be an unknown secret backer?"
"I don’t know, but our Blood Moon Pavilion isn’t afraid of it."
Shui Meiying became worried, considering Frozen Cloud didn’t have a backer. After all, even their ancestor couldn’t contact their great ancestor in the upper realm anymore.
On the other hand, Feng Mingyue was not afraid of trouble at all. She actually looked excited because they invited trouble by involving three sacred sects. Three against one, especially Sacred Sakura, was so powerful. She had nothing to worry about.
"Well, we will face it together when the time comes. Please don’t pretend you don’t know us at that time. I’ll be sad if you only throw the trouble at us." Ely smiled slightly, but there was a hint of threat in it.
She wished to bind the Frozen Cloud and Blood Moon to Sacred Sakura’s favor. More friends, then it would be better. They could withstand the trouble for her.
"That goes without saying, Saintess Miko." Feng Mingyue understood the implied meaning of that statement.
"Yes, we will face it together." Shui Meiying nodded in agreement. She could see a glimmer of hope even if the worst situation fell.
"Then, let’s leave the heavy topic for now. I have long wanted to meet the holy saintess. Now we’ve met. How about we have a little stroll around the garden?" Ely got up and invited the two saintesses to go with her.
Shui Meiying and Feng Mingyue glanced at each other and accepted Saintess Miko’s invitation. They were sensitive enough to know that it was time for the elders to talk and that the young girls should go elsewhere.
Ely gave all signals to Jophiel and the other disciples to sort the gifts and make a report for her later.
Jophiel replied with a subtle nod, then went with her juniors into the villa. When it comes to treasures and sorting loot, she was good at taking care of it.
"..." Yuuki looked at Ely and the two saintesses walking away. They chatted happily and walked around the flower garden far from the garden pavilion.
She was always fascinated because it was easy for Ely to make new friends, but she knew not everyone could be Ely’s real friend. Nevertheless, Ely asked her and Sylvia to work on other more complicated matters with the great elders. Ely was acting as a saintess, and these great elders shouldn’t know that Ely was also the leader.
"Phew... it’s good to be young." Sylvia sighed and leaned her cheek against her palm with a gentle smile as she looked at Ely and the girls chatting like carefree young girls. She was also a young girl but had to pretend to be the elder here.
"Please have a seat." Yuuki motioned for the six guests to sit down.
After the great elders sat down, Sylvia immediately opened up a conversation. "You are at the 9th Rank, but why do you look like you are nearing the end of your lifespan? Shouldn’t a 9th Rank expert like you be able to live for more than twelve thousand years? I don’t believe you have lived that long."
"Haha, well said, Elder Sylvi. We’re already stuck in our bottleneck for long. Apart from the heart demon, various techniques and injuries can also drain one’s lifespan." One of the Blood Moon’s great elders responded casually, taking it as a light joke.
"You may only be three thousand years old, but you probably only have less than two thousand years of lifespan. It’s no wonder why people often call high-rank experts old monsters... Why don’t you ladies like to take care of your body forever, young? I believe there is such a technique, and it will not be affected by the lifespan." Sylvia asked in wonder.
"I have cultivated it, but to stay forever young is not that easy." One of the Frozen Cloud’s great elders shook her head.
"Well... Then, you can ask us to concoct the elixir of youth or some nice pills for you. The price isn’t cheap, though. We won’t consider it for anyone else, but Frozen Cloud and Blood Moon are our allies." Sylvia smirked faintly as she ran her through her arm’s fair skin.
The great elders were intrigued by that. The high-level alchemist, craftmaster, and physician were so rare. Even if there was someone who could fulfill their request, it would take many years for them to receive the finished product. They would be significantly helped if Sacred Sakura could help them.
"Then, we will need Sacred Sakura’s help from now on. We no longer need to take the trouble to associate with the Profound Pill Sect or those moody, arrogant bastards anymore." One of the great elders cleared her throat.
She nodded in agreement as she began considering many things related to various exchanges with Sacred Sakura.
As long as they paid Sacred Sakura the right price, Sacred Sakura could fulfill their request. That was what Elder Sylvi wished to convey. Therefore, the other great elders voiced their agreement and willingness.
"Alright then, let’s return to profound matters. Our oracle predicts that we will encounter another Evil God in the near future. The next year will be filled with chaos, and we want you to also prepare for the possible calamity." Sylvia intertwined her fingers and dropped a topic that surprised everyone except Yuuki.
She then elaborated on Ely’s prophecy and the scenario they would go through. They couldn’t see the exact future, but it would help if they would prepare for the worst-case scenario. And more importantly, these sacred sects could help them to withstand the strong wind and take care of various matters for them.
"..." Yuuki just sat silently. She just listened and added a few things that Sylvia had missed. Even though it was hard to admit, Sylvia was the best spokesperson and influencer to incite people...
A few moments later, Ely and the two saintesses have become quite close. It would be fair to call them friends. They became familiar to the point of casually talking without even considering each other’s status.
"Uhm, I was wondering since I first met you in Reustin City, but why is your hair only half red and half peach? As far as I know, all of the Feng Clan have bright red hair." Shui Meiying wondered as she held Feng Mingyue’s hair.
"Mm, I haven’t fully mastered my family inheritance techniques. I may need a few more years, and my hair will be completely red like my siblings." Feng Mingyue ran her finger through her hair.
"You must be a little hard to be the youngest daughter. Everyone will be doted on you, but they will also be overprotective. May I know how many siblings you have?" Ely was curious.
"I know, right! I have three siblings. Two sisters and one brother. However, a clan’s younger is everyone’s sibling, too, right? If I count the entire clan... that’s eight sisters and fourteen brothers." Feng Mingyue counted her siblings with her fingers.
"Fufu, it’s so lively." Ely chuckled lightly.
"But, please be careful with my eldest sister, Blood Empress. She is a carnivore but also fond of bullying younger girls. As long as they are pretty, she will never spare them." Feng Mingyue pouted at the thought. She reminded her new friends as if it was so important.
"That bad?"
"I’m sure she won’t bully just any pretty girls. She’s just conveying her love to her siblings."
Shui Meiying and Ely exchanged astonished looks.
"Hmph! You will know if you meet her in person. She might behave in public, but never go to the private facility with just you and her." Feng Mingyue puffed out her cheeks when her friends took her words for granted.
