Chapter 171: The Origin of Her Self-Confidence
Chapter 171: The Origin of Her Self-Confidence
"What do you mean, devil girl?" One of Blood Moon’s great elders asked furiously.
"She will crave more prey because she still has hidden trump cards. She survived my assault for five minutes, and it boosted her confidence. She will try to devour everyone here. See the grand array in that blood-red valley? She hides a grand array there, and a monster is about to awaken." Sylvia pointed towards the valley in question.
"That demon is only at the Grand Master or Saint level at most. It’s just you who is incompetent and can only injure her despite your power difference. Are you really a Great Ascension Realm expert?" The grumbling great elder gave a condescending, mocking look.
*Swoosh*
The flashing blade shot out instantly, grazing the grumbling elder’s cheek at an imperceptible speed.
The grumbling great elder then felt a sting sensation on his cheek. He got a cut, and he was bleeding...
"I think... I’m that capable. You got injured even by that fast but mediocre throwing knife. You haven’t even talked about the reason with my dark spear." Sylvia rubbed the dark spear gently.
"You!" The grumbling great elder wiped his blood with his hands, and his wound gradually healed. He had to admit the previous knife was super fast and silent so he couldn’t move in time, but it annoyed him so much.
"Great elder! You are the senior. Don’t bully the junior. She is Elder Sylvi, and she came to report something. Don’t disturb her." Mingyue spread her hands before the grumbling great elder.
"..." Ely glanced at the calm Yuuki.
In terms of seniority, judging by strength, Yuuki and Sylvia were the most senior here. Not to mention, Sylvia had already gone through the half-godhood ascension.
"Let me do the talking." Yuuki pulled Sylvia back, and she stepped forward.
Yuuki elaborated on how Sylvia fought the Heavenly Demon Inheritor. Even though Sylvia didn’t go all out and mostly just tested the opponent’s capabilities, Heavenly Demon Inheritor still survived Sylvia’s new demonic arts with only minor injuries.
They deliberately gave the impression that 10th Rank experts weren’t that capable. That way, the opponent would return to retaliate.
"But that’s a bit strange. She never revealed her true power when fighting you. Still, she survived your assault for five minutes without any God-tier item... Isn’t that unnatural? You even used the spear of darkness." Ely tapped her chin as she felt something was wrong with the Heavenly Demon Inheritor.
"Yep, that’s what I thought. I always run into a super hard barrier every time I injure her. It’s hidden beneath her skin. A defensive-type Heavenly-grade artifact is probably embedded into her body to ensure her safety. Her soul, I mean spiritual power, is also super strong." Sylvia nodded in agreement, then turned around.
"It’s just as you heard. It’s only a 7th Rank Heavenly Demon Inheritor, but she can survive two 10th Rank experts. Can we possibly surround her and overwhelm her with combined forces? We have seven 9th and four 10th Rank experts in total here." Feng Xue crossed her arms with a solemn expression.
"We need to wait for the said demon to reappear as they planned. Those undead and demonic golems are the problem that needs to be resolved immediately. How can a 7th Rank demon raise such a large army in six hours?" Feng Jie stroked his beard with a lot of suspicion.
He felt many things were wrong about the whole situation in that blood-red land.
"That is normal for the undead, as many kinds of high-level demonic arts can raise the dead into undead puppets. She refined them and controlled them. As for the golems... perhaps they are relics from the Heavenly Demon Ancient Legacy." Yuuki speculated as she also felt it was a bit unreasonable for tens of thousands of undead and demonic golems to rise in such a short amount of time.
"The bloody land..." Meiying muttered softly as she glanced at Mingyue.
She had never been to Scarlet Domain Secret Realm, but she heard that place was bloody and scary.
"It isn’t completely composed of blood. The strange red liquid of those undead and golems is the cause. Even my homeland’s soil isn’t that red..." Mingyue observed the situation as if she knew what Meiying was thinking.
"It’s night, but the sky is blood red." Ely looked up to the sky with a heavy heart.
The weird root-like red scratch on Sylvia’s right arm soon got noticed by Ely. She grabbed Sylvia’s arm and performed a purification. The foreign substance and evil energy were pulled out and burned away.
"Uh, thanks." Sylvia rubbed her healed arm with a satisfied expression.
She could eliminate the foreign blood-like substance by herself, but it would take time. It was also difficult to handle the parasitic evil energy that would spread as soon as her seal was lifted.
Therefore, she sealed it while waiting for Ely to arrive. With Ely by her side, she would fear nothing.
*Rumble!*
A hurricane and a tornado formed over the blood-red valley suddenly. Pitch-black clouds spiraling across the odd blood-red sky. Red lightning flashed everywhere, and a black mist billowed from the valley.
The blood-red soil absorbed and centered into the valley, and threads of spiritual flows in the air formed and sucked the surrounding qi. A massive magic circle in the middle of a grand formation formed in the valley, emitting an intimidating blood-red aura.
The undead and demonic golems stopped moving, and everyone was stunned by a gigantic black mist amidst the tornado. It soared high into the sky and enlarged like a giant monster that had just risen from its slumber.
*Boom!*
An earthquake created a huge crack separating the southeast coastal region from the mainland.
At the same time, a supermassive boulder-like floating ancient fortress flew out from the blood-red valley.
"Grr..." Noir was intimidated by that floating fortress as the most colossal creature in the vicinity.
His true form was like a moving mountain, but in front of that massive floating fortress, he became like a pebble compared to a whole boulder.
Dozens of cannons popped from the fortress walls, and hundreds of gigantic tentacle-like mechanic hands moved like writhing worms.
*Bam!*
One cannon suddenly fired without prior notice, releasing a reddish-black destructive beam towards the colossal black dragon.
"Roar!" Noir took an offensive stance and released his condensed fire beam.
The two destructive energy clashed in midair, creating a huge blast that hurled the surrounding creatures within a two-kilometer radius. Smoke billowed, obscuring the view.
"Retreat. Move back now!" Sylvia gave her command sternly.
"!!!" Noir yelled in his mind and immediately transformed his body into a smaller one while flying away from his previous location.
*Boom!*
Dozens of laser beams pierced through the thick smoke and fell on his previous location, creating a massive dome-like explosion that obliterated everything within three kilometers radius.
*Swoosh!*
The little Noir got blown away, but he was safe nonetheless. The blast was terrible, but his skin was hard. Although, he was still thrown very far to the other region like a shooting star.
"An ancient floating fortress city and a huge killing machine. So, it is one of her trump cards and the origin of her self-confidence." Sylvia muttered softly while gazing far into the floating fortress.
"The Heavenly Demon shall rise, and Heaven shall tremble!" A woman’s voice echoed from the floating fortress.
The floating fortress soon moved, emitting a suffocating oppressive aura.
"Oh my God... what is that?" Mingyue covered her mouth in surprise.
"Flying fortress has many tentacle-like hands and hundreds of giant cannons. It’s not the first time I’ve seen a flying fortress city, but isn’t that pretty big and weird?" Yuuki was astonished.
Just as she said, everyone also felt that the floating fortress had a strange shape. Even so, the threat was a real deal.
Ely still kept her composure despite the approaching danger. She just didn’t expect the Heavenly Demon Inheritor would bring out an ancient weapon of mass destruction of that size.
That floating fortress had a rather comical shape in her eyes, to be honest. It reminded her of a sea urchin, but gigantic, and its spines were writhing tentacles.
Regardless, it kept approaching and would bring nothing but disaster.
Ely immediately used her Sacred Vision to find that floating fortress’ weakness.
The Heavenly Demon Inheritor was the brain that controlled everything, and the huge core was the power source. Her primary target was in a command room deep within the floating fortress. The Heavenly Demon Inheritor’s body was half embedded into the huge core. Only her upper half was sticking out.
Ely smiled faintly. Her plan was simple, and her target was only one. She would infiltrate the core room and defeat the Heavenly Demon Inheritor to end everything.
"So, you are there. The danger is approaching, and we have to stop her. Everyone, we need to stop the Heavenly Inheritor and her army." Ely asked everyone for help in a composed tone.
