Chapter 173: Bypassed Every Obstacles
Chapter 173: Bypassed Every Obstacles
"Why are you little ants so annoying!?" The Heavenly Demon gritted her teeth, controlling the floating fortress to strike back.
She thought she had regained some power. By reviving her ancient weapon with those sacrifices, she could trample the mortal world easily. But those humans were annoying.
"It’s all their fault. Why can those intruders penetrate my defense like paper? I don’t know what trick they used, but they will pay for it." The Heavenly Demon grumbled and sent a command toward many demonic golems within the fortress to hunt down the two intruders.
If those intruders hadn’t punched a hole in her force field, those human cultivators wouldn’t have been able to break through her defense. She might have knocked them down before the force field weakened.
However, the force field had already collapsed, and many cannons had been ruined.
Hundreds of tentacle-like hands then shot out like whips, slamming into the human cultivators in the air.
"Defense!" Feng Xue exclaimed. She and her elite squad combined their power to deflect the giant whip attacks.
*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*
The barrier cracked, and it crumbled to pieces right after. However, it gave everyone enough time to safely retreat before those tentacle whips slammed them into oblivion.
"Retreat. Avoid its direct attacks as much as possible. This huge monster’s power has suddenly increased dramatically." One of the elders shouted as he flew away from the floating fortress’ attack zone.
*Screech!*
An ear-splitting scream echoed from the floating fortress. A massive red-eye-like cannon opened at its center, and the surrounding area gradually became darker.
Suddenly, the red sky became so dark. The thick dark clouds entirely blocked the moonlight, and the dark mist enveloped the battlefield.
Only huge red eyes were visible amidst the darkness, but that was the prelude to an unavoidable disaster.
The red eyes shone brightly, gathering dark matter and emitting a bright red glow. The world suddenly seemed to lose its color as the disaster was about to be unleashed.
*Swoosh* *Crackle*
A blue arrow shot out, hitting the floating fortress at its rear, freezing it partially and tilting it a few degrees upwards.
*Rumble!* *Rumble!*
A massive red-black beam shot up like a pillar of doom. Black lightning flashed everywhere, and the sky was hollowed out.
"!!!"
Countless experts widened their eyes and broke into a cold sweat. Fear soon won them over.
That kind of attack could obliterate them instantly. Even a 10th Rank expert couldn’t leave unscratched if one had to clash with that destructive beam.
Fortunately, an ice arrow caused the floating fortress to tilt upward and turn its trajectory to the sky. If not, they’d have been wiped out for sure.
"What in the world is that? Can you survive it if you have to withstand it?" One of the Blood Moon’s great elders asked his comrade.
"I’m not sure. But that kind of demonic beam is above the 10th Rank of destruction level. It could wipe out all living beings in the Human Realm from existence." The 10th Rank great elder swallowed his saliva as it was hard to admit the truth. He would perish if he had to withstand that.
"Then, how can we take down this huge monster? We can’t sneak in like that devil?" Feng Xue clicked her tongue.
"The hole has been patched, and we need to make our own entrance. Look at those demonic golems. We will be mobbed by them and the fortress’ formations." One of the elders pointed at the hidden threats in that floating fortress.
"Don’t try to enter if you can’t purify the demonic energy. Continue to attack from the outside and destroy its cannons. Shackle it to the ground." Yuuki flew over and released several ice arrows, freezing almost half the floating fortress.
*Creak*
The floating fortress lost its balance and fell to the ground.
"We need to restrict that floating city’ movements. Miko and Elder Sylvi are invading its control room to destroy its power source." Mingyue called out with an urgency in her voice.
"Ice Seal! Elders, please help us to seal its movements and destroy its cannons." Meiying also asked her elders for help.
"Okay. Everyone, go with me. Scarlet Binding Technique!" Feng Xue rushed to assist her little sister with her blood-binding technique.
"Ice Judgment!"
"Dancing Snow, Freeze!"
"Fury Coil. Restraint!"
"Moving Mountain. Brilliant Smash!"
The surrounding experts released their respective techniques to keep the massive floating fortress on the ground.
Several red streams of water bound the floating fortress, a mountain split open to clamp it in the middle, dozens of ice-sealing techniques froze it, and hundreds of red chains kept it in position.
The floating fortress tried to fly back into the air, but so many variables held it down.
Its mechanisms took effect and destroyed one shackle, but another ten seal techniques rained it down. Everyone determined to seal the floating fortress remained on the ground.
The floating fortress tried to unleash another dark matter beam, but an ice arrow shot its main cannon and froze it.
Hundreds of tentacle-like hands moved to rip and tear the restraints apart. Thousands of demonic knight golems made their move.
Many human experts rushed to bombard the floating fortress to reduce its combat power.
---
*Rumble!*
The ground shook once again as if an earthquake was happening. Ely hugged Sylvia’s waist tightly because they were blown away while trying to infiltrate the core room.
"It’s pretty crazy. They bombarded this floating fortress fiercely, but it looks like Yuuki managed to do something." Sylvia breathed a sigh of relief. She then pulled her spear from the wall, and it landed smoothly on the floor.
"Hmm..." Ely nodded in agreement. Earthquakes were still there but weren’t as severe as the previous ones.
"..." Sylvia looked down, staring at Ely’s lovely face on her twin mountains. She had to ensure Ely’s safety in her arms when the floating fortress was violently shaken a few minutes ago.
Sylvia looked left and right, then dragged Ely to a blind spot. She whispered via direct telepathy. ’I’ll barge in and get her attention. You take another route and ambush her from behind. Eliminate your aura and presence now.’
Ely remained silent, but she responded with a nod. She took out a white talisman and a cube-like artifact, then freed herself from Sylvia’s arms. She also hid her other artifacts and items to keep their aura hidden.
Shortly after she used the items, she disappeared into invisibility. She was still there, but nobody could sense her presence. She also had no aura, and detecting her now would be close to impossible.
’I will take a detour. Please take the same route as I told you before.’ Ely spoke via telepathy talisman. She then checked her surroundings with her Sacred Vision.
’Okay, you’re still there, right?’ Sylvia reached out her hand, but she groped something springy and soft like a big bun.
’E-uh, huh? What are you doing, Sylvi? You can’t see or sense me, but that doesn’t mean I’m completely invisible...’ Ely took a few steps back and covered her breasts with both hands.
’Eh, hahaha, sorry...’ Sylvia rubbed her head and looked to the side. She then returned to her battle mode and went into action. ’Let’s move now. We don’t have much time. You’re the key to victory. She could go berserk or escape at any time. This floating fortress is only one of her trump cards. We must defeat her here.’
’Okay.’ Ely also rushed to move.
*Bam!*
Sylvia punched a big hole in the wall.
"Intruder." "Intruder." "Intruder."
Several knight golems came into the vicinity, but Sylvia’s blood clones reduced them into a melted paste with almost no effort.
"Hmph! Weak." Sylvia pointed her spear at a particular spot, then thrust it forward.
A vortex of darkness engulfed everything in its path, leaving a passage.
"To think you can infiltrate this far by perforating the walls and floors. The demonic energy and the dark titanium alloy can’t stop you, huh." Someone on the other side greeted me in astonishment, but it sounded like a sigh.
"Hehe, you can’t stop me. You powered up too quickly and alerted too many parties. We detected you early and shall deliver you the death penalty here. Don’t blame me because you will be defeated here." Sylvia chuckled as she walked over.
A woman was half embedded in a huge blue crystal core in the middle of the room ahead. The Heavenly Demon’s arms and legs were inside that huge crystal, only showing her upper half.
Various tools from ancient Godly technology were present in that room. Somehow, Sylvia got the spaceship’s control room vibe from there.
"Death penalty? You are ten thousand years too early to say such arrogant words before me, blood demon."
"You don’t realize what situation you are in right now?"
"Have you never realized why I remain calm despite those ants bombarding me from outside? Do you think I’ve lost because you have the upper hand?"
"I don’t know, but you will be punished. You won’t be able to escape the death penalty even if you are a God. But, you are only a God’s soul in a mortal body. What is a Fake God, or maybe, a newly reincarnated God can do?"
Sylvia shrugged her shoulders in indifferent sarcasm.
"..." The Heavenly Demon remained silent, but she suddenly smirked when the blood demon stepped into the core room.
A red magic circle manifested under Sylvia’s feet, curbing her movements. She got suppressed and ended up kneeling on the floor from the immense pressure.
"Kuh!" Sylvia tried her best to resist the trap, but breaking it would require some time.
"Hahaha! You are still a naive young demon. For a Deity-level demon, you are so reckless to casually charge into the most dangerous zone without proper preparation despite knowing I was once a powerful Heavenly Demon God!" The Heavenly God laughed loudly.
"Is- is that so? Heh~" Sylvia answered without losing her smile.
"That cheeky smile... How sickening. I will give you one more chance, blood demon. Be mine and serve me with your body and soul. I will grant you the highest glory of immortality. You can also rule this world if you desire it. " The Heavenly Demon pursed her lips.
She was about to kill this blood demon, but she felt it would be a waste of talent if she had to kill her distant kin just like that.
"Your stupid glory... I don’t need it. You can barely hold a candle before her. What can a world do compared to the entire universe of the starry sky as one’s playing ground? Like I said... I’m taken and will serve one person only." Sylvia raised her middle finger and replied with an arrogant, mocking expression.
"You have a death wish! Then, I shall grant it. I don’t know who your master is, but I will uncover it after I kill you and refine you into my super undead!" The Heavenly Demon’s veins popped out.
She got angry, and dozens of deadly magic circles surrounded her target, about to give a quick death.
However, she suddenly noticed someone was standing right next to her. She couldn’t detect that person until just now. It was just a human priestess. She could barely sense this human girl’s presence and aura even though the person was beside her.
"Hi~" Ely greeted, then stabbed the Heavenly Demon with sealing daggers.
She sealed her target’s power sources and energy flows without further ado.
