My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 357: Bless the Earth

Chapter 357: Bless the Earth

The unexpected phenomenon that occurred at the border in Australia was then raised as a topic of conversation.

A deep chasm over fifteen hundred feet wide that stretched over seven hundred miles suddenly appeared amidst the battle between the human’s combined army and the invading monsters.

"Is it a natural phenomenon, or was there someone who caused it?" Someone asked, but no one could answer it because it was still an unsolved mystery.

"We are still investigating it. If it was caused by someone, this person is clearly a mysterious esper with unfathomable power. We will spare no effort to put us in a favorable position. As for now, we need to immediately increase the mining industry and strengthen borders, especially in the middle sphere." The commander closed the discussion.

The global elites then disconnected, and their holograms went out. Simultaneously, the higher-ups and top-ranked espers soon left the conference room.

"I want to go back to Japan soon. When can we go back, Yuna?" A man clad in a combat suit rests his head on his hands.

The girl next to him heaved a subtle sigh and checked the schedule through her superphone. "We just arrived in the USA this afternoon, Mike. The next flight from America to Asia is in three days."

"Haha, you’ve just arrived in the USA and already want to go back to Japan? How about we host you a welcome party? We need to enjoy this moment of peace." The dashing captain stood up and pointed at his face with a beaming smile.

"Sorry to trouble you, Sir Chris. This is my first time in the USA." Mike responded enthusiastically, as the free meal always interested him.

"Worry not. The meeting is over, and the higher-ups will be busy for some time. Let’s enjoy the night until morning comes!" Chris invited his friends and went with several other groups.

"Huff... The gate of hell was just destroyed in Canada, but another one appeared in Indonesia. Is it okay for us to relax like this?" Yuna heaved a subtle sigh once again before leaving to follow her boyfriend.

Her people were also waiting outside, and it was clearly going to be a big welcome party hosted by the local espers.

All espers were invited, but some refused because they had some important business.

About eighteen hundred miles to the northwest, Elysia landed on top of a skyscraper. The night sky was dark, and the weather was relatively cold. She changed her attire to a rather thick and warm jacket.

"Phew, it feels cool here, different from tropical areas where it can get so hot." Elysia breathed a sigh of relief.

’It’s still around the Winter. It’s obviously still cold. It’s already nighttime here. So, what are you going to do?’ Gaia wondered about Elysia’s next plan.

’Yeah, you’re right... In Asia, it’s still afternoon, but here it’s already night. Erina is asleep.’ Elysia peered into a particular room in the hotel building across the street. She then looked up at the sky and realized something. ’But, hey, it’s not night... it’s close to dawn.’

’Yeah... the time difference is like day and night. Would you like to see the sunrise?’ Elena came out from the Elysian Realm and gave Elysia a warm hug from behind.

"Hm-mm~ That sounds good. Accompany me, Ai, and Gaia too." Elysia invited everyone and took out a cozy sofa for the four of them.

Under the soft hues of the dawn sky, four Goddesses found solace and camaraderie as they sat together. The celestial sisterhood, savoring the warmth of hot cocoa. Their divine presence shimmered against the canvas of morning colors as they indulged in the simple joy of watching the beautiful sunrise unfold.

The soft laughter echoed around them as they shared divine tales and cosmic anecdotes. Their laughter resonated with the world’s harmony, a joyous cadence that rippled through the dawn.

The Goddesses directed their mirthful gaze at the horizon, where the first light of dawn painted the sky with hues of pink, orange, and gold. Their eyes, reflecting the cosmic wonders they witnessed, sparkled with delight.

As they enjoyed their hot cocoa, Gaia bestowed benevolent blessings upon the Earth below.

"Phew..." Elysia leaned her head against Elena’s shoulder.

She occasionally thought of avoiding the world’s cruelty, just enjoying the beauty of the world, without needing to know how dark a side could be.

However, the darkness would always follow the light. Since it was inseparable, then she couldn’t avoid it. Even so, she wanted to savor her moment to enjoy the comfort.

"It’s not easy for you, Gaia. History told me that humans are the most perfect creatures ever created." Elysia muttered softly, glancing at the mature green-haired Mother Goddess to Ai’s left.

"Hmm, I’ve always been fair. I don’t know how deep the malice of a human’s heart can be, but I’ve always been fascinated about how beautiful a human’s heart can become." Gaia looked at the bustling city below with a subtle smile.

"Well, you will never be fair if you only favor humanity. The animals, beasts, and the so-called monsters are also creatures. As long as they are not evil, they deserve blessings." Elena rolled her eyes.

"I only bless the Earth..." Gaia was somewhat speechless. Elena would find any opportunity to counter her and ruin the mood.

"You’re starting to confuse Ely with your Mother Earth Divinity." Ai nodded in agreement.

"Hm? Am I?" Elysia looked at her hands. She did feel a bit strange since she used Gaia’s divine power.

Gaia asked her not to use her otherworldly energies and divinities on Earth. So this solution was the most practical one instead of spending time to recharge her power with Earth’s spiritual energy.

"Hm, it’s Gaia’s divine power, after all. It’s not compatible with upper universe divinities. However, you can use this opportunity to train your judgments, Ely. Don’t let them influence you, and subdue them. Make Gaia obedient." Elena put her hand on Elysia’s cheek and spoke softly while looking deeply into Elysia’s mesmerizing purplish-blue eyes.

"Mm, I understand. Thank you, Sister Elena. So, that’s why..." Elysia nodded in understanding.

"My divine power might influence you a little for the fair judgment towards punishment and mercy. But, it’s not my fault..." Gaia grumbled a little, explaining her innocence.

"We never blame you, Gaia. You are an honorable Mother Goddess. Since you joined Elysium, then you are family. We shall resolve the current world matters and organize the damage control for the future apocalypse." Elysia reached out her hand to pat Gaia’s arm.

"Well, the sun is rising, and Erina will wake up soon. How will you meet her? This reunion probably won’t be peaceful." Elena looked up at the morning sun on the eastern horizon.

"I’ve thought about it. I’ll approach and observe her first. Victoria is no longer on Erina’s side, but I also rarely find birds flying high in the sky. Are birds almost extinct?" Elysia looked up and observed the distant sky. She found no birds as far as the eye could see.

"The mass extermination of birds has been happening since the first mutation occurred. The remaining birds don’t dare fly too high. That Demi-God raven is still in England." Gaia transformed into a bracelet and returned to Elysia’s wrist.

"Hmm, so that’s why there are more land and sea beasts. The ocean is humanity’s biggest threat. There is no more sea transportation because of the south, the lower sphere. Eh, wait-" Elena nodded in understanding, but Ai grabbed her hand and dragged her to Elysia’s shadow.

"Hum, well then~" Elysia stood up and stretched a little.

She put the cozy sofa back into her storage pouch before going to visit the hotel across the road.

About two hours later, Elysia started observing Erina from a certain distance, unnoticed by anyone.

Erina was guarded by several bodyguards, but Mio, Erina’s closest person, was not on Erina’s side.

At that time, Erina went to the nearest WUF headquarters to report the results of her mission and grab her rewards.

When her team arrived at their destination, she remained in her car, waiting for someone. A few minutes later, an intelligence officer approached Erina’s car and knocked on the window.

"You brought it?" Erina asked.

"My lady, this is a report from our intel." A bodyguard handed over a document very carefully.

"Alright. You may go." Erina raised her hand.

After the intel left, Erina checked the document and scanned it using her superphone. After sending it to her private intelligence officer, she got out of the car and walked towards WUF headquarters.

Elysia prepared herself mentally and went to meet Erina near the entrance gate as if it were an unexpected encounter.

Elysia, still disguised as Young Master El, raised her hand in greeting, but she hadn’t gotten a chance to speak before someone blocked and confronted her.

Erina was still too busy with her superphone. She ignored the other things and entered the building.

"I’m surprised there is still someone who dares to hold a phone to record Erina-sama’s presence. Please delete it and put your phone away, or we will take firm action." One of the bodyguards issued a firm threat.

"Uh, I never record anything." Elysia raised her hands.

"You dare to deny it while you’re still holding it to point it at Erina-sama?" The nearest bodyguard smacked the phone in the black-robed man’s hand.

The phone fell to the ground, and someone stepped on it, shattering it into smithereens.

"Serve you right, punk. No one is allowed to take pictures of Erina-sama without permission." The annoyed bodyguard scoffed with a rude tone. He glared at the white-faced man and sneered before he quickly followed his team.

"..." Elysia looked at Erina and those bodyguards, then looked down at her shattered phone.

It was the limited edition smartphone, the gift from Erina, but it had been destroyed into scrap.

She hoped Erina would notice it to pique one’s attention. Yet, Erina didn’t even spare a glance and ignored the surroundings.

"Sigh, what’s wrong with them?" Elysia picked up her shattered phone and left the area.
