My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 376: Not About Self-Sacrifice

Chapter 376: Not About Self-Sacrifice

"I don’t know what to do with you. Your wish to protect the Quadtria, I will fulfil it." Elysia looked at her surroundings as she knew Nirvana was there, merging with the entire space boundary.

"Thank you." Nirvana replied with relief and satisfaction.

Elysia checked the previously cracked dimension once again before her divine sense left the space boundary.

Since she couldn’t change Nirvana’s decision, then she couldn’t do anything to impose her will. As a divinity who had protected the Heavens for so long, she had to honour Nirvana’s last wishes.

Although, it left a bit of a bad taste in her heart, knowing Nirvana didn’t deserve such an ending after such a heavy sacrifice.

’But, what can I do? If it’s just a wisp of will, the best I can do is refine her into a spirit weapon. However, what do I need to do with her legacies? Why did she transfer it to me so eagerly? This is a bit suspicious.’ Elysia returned to her divine avatar, separated the heavenly legacies that Nirvana transferred to her mind, and sealed them.

’Mama, a God King-level demon is the one who wants to harm us. He is only at the 15th Rank, but an evil forbidden technique pushes him to the 17th Rank. Even He-Dao is injured.’ Megami immediately reported the situation.

’Thank you, Megami. He-Dao made the best decision to destroy the attack rather than stop it.’ Elysia looked at the glass crystal ball in her hand.

Nirvana Air Time cracked a bit because she forced it to separate the last recording related to Nirvana’s last words from the primary recording.

"What’s the situation?" He-Dao expressed his concern.

Elysia took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She controlled her breathing and the fluctuations within her divine avatar’s body.

"Everything is under control. Let me see your hand." Elysia grabbed He-Dao’s injured hand.

It was just a scratch, but the element of chaos and heavenly curse slowed down He-Dao’s instant recovery. Therefore, she burned the malevolent energy with purgatory fire and then let He-Dao’s recovery do its job of healing the wound.

"..." He-Dao widened his eyes because a strange fluttering feeling suddenly stirred within his heart.

Even though it was only for a moment, he saw the shadow of another person from Goddess Ely because of this attitude and gesture, someone he had known for a long time.

"It’s all good. Thank you for protecting me." Elysia looked up and expressed her gratitude.

He-Dao was a head taller than her, but he kept staring at her without responding in any way. Thus, she tapped his wound, sending a subtle pain to the stunned person.

"!?" He-Dao retracted his hand by reflex.

After that, Elysia flew away from the Nirvana Seal, leaving the stunned He-Dao behind. Zi Xuan and Katie informed her about several things, and she immediately checked on the injured ones, especially the Heavenly Agents.

"My lady, we are fine. Just suffering from a minor backlash." Yuna tried to reassure Goddess Ely regarding her and her fellow sisters’ situation.

"Hum." Elysia used her advanced perception to check everyone’s situation.

Amy was the one with the worst injuries because Agent Dark was reckless enough to try to stop the arrow with chaos elements bare hand. Luckily, Amy didn’t try to stop the attack with a whole body and became a doughnut. Regardless, Amy’s reflex action deserved an appreciation.

Elysia helped Amy to recover one’s lost hand, but she chose not to do anything else to the others because they had already stabilized their spiritual energy and could heal themselves from the minor backlash in a few minutes.

The ambush from the 17th Rank heavenly demon was also imbued by the element of chaos to penetrate anything in its path. Rather than blocking the attack, destroying it was the best course of action.

She was happy with He-Dao’s quick action to destroy that arrow of chaos rather than block it.

As for the assassin, He-Dao killed the offender and extracted the dead’s soul for further interrogation.

However, that would be Heavenly Palace’s matter. As for her business, she was almost done there. "Can we continue with the heavenly conference? I brought some information about the corrupted monsters in Nirvana Realm."

Since the Supreme Goddess had spoken, then He-Dao immediately dematerialized the Nirvana Seal gateway, and everyone returned to the heavenly hall.

What Elysia saw behind the space boundary was replayed by Nirvana Air Time for everyone to watch.

The corrupted terrains, the eerie glow within the malevolent thick fog, the terrifying monsters, and the countless threats from the Nirvana Abyssal Demons.

The weakest monsters were at the 11th Rank, and the stronger ones usually had a green glint in their eyes. The biggest danger lurked around the core domain, the region where the highest-level threats resided.

As for the strongest threat, the terrifying giant monster suddenly shot into the sky as if to pounce on the recording. The jumpscare made everyone gasp in surprise.

"He is the 18th Rank abyssal demon of corruption, the Sovereign of the Abyss. Do you know anything about him?" Elysia tried to ask the most knowledgeable divinity in Quadtria.

She was aware that the monster was most likely He-Dao’s corrupted old friend, but she wanted to know some details from He-Dao directly.

"He is the one I must destroy." He-Dao responded in a cold tone.

He clenched his hands into fists, emitting a faint aura of wrath, indicating long-buried anger, ready to explode into unimaginable heavenly destruction.

Elysia understood why He-Dao wanted to kill the Sovereign of Abyss, Helfheim. However, she then wondered about how the Gods and Immortals in the Heavenly Palace could be free from the heavenly curse.

He-Dao and the Heavenly Agents did not have any remnants of the heavenly curse, even though they had certainly fought against the Nirvana Abyssal Monsters eons ago.

’They may have a technique to resolve it, but it requires sacrifice?’ Elysia tried to guess it and no longer thought about it.

He-Dao suppressed his anger before his aura spread and harmed the others. He then looked to the side, wondering about why the recording became damaged after the Sovereign of Abyss tried to break free. "My lady, were you able to find anything else after that?"

"Yes, but we need to talk in private." Elysia considered Nirvana’s last words, then revised her plan regarding the future battle to protect the Heavens from those corrupted demons.

They would need to hold an internal meeting attended only by the trusted core combatants.

"Alright." He-Dao received the hint from the change in Goddess Ely’s expression and gaze. He felt something more complicated had happened, and she couldn’t say it in front of everyone.

The heavenly discussion then continued, discussing their future strategies and plans in the battle against the Nirvana Abyssal Demons.

A few minutes later, the conclusion was drawn by He-Dao, and the event ended.

Everyone also had to do their preparations. Those who needed to look for materials to receive advanced treatment from the Supreme Goddess immediately excused themselves as they had to find all the items on the list as soon as possible for their recovery.

However, the frontline combatants remained in the heavenly hall. He-Dao asked them to wait a moment as he had to hold an internal meeting.

"Please wait a moment, my lady." Moon Sovereign hurried to catch up, feeling displeased to be left out when He-Dao was about to take the Supreme Goddess away for a private matter.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Moon Sovereign?" Elysia stopped in her tracks and turned around, wondering if she missed something when dealing with the curse from this Immortal Lord before.

"May I know how grave the situation is for the future battle? How confident are you in your abilities in front of those monsters? Is that necessary to hold a private meeting?" Moon Sovereign expressed his concern as he also wanted to tag along.

"Hm, how should I say it? I can’t say for sure because it’ll become everyone’s battle. I’ll try my best to handle the curse and minimize casualties. We need to discuss this for a moment to clear up some confusion. We’ll be back soon to explain my role and plan in the future battle. Can you wait for us for a few minutes?" Elysia grasped her arm with a polite gesture, choosing the right words to convince the other party.

"What’s bothering you, Moon Palace Master? Come and tell me about your recent battle against the heavenly demons." The Primordial Sea Dragon waved its hand in invitation.

"..." Moon Sovereign stared dagger at He-Dao before turning around and returning to his seat.

"???" He-Dao asked in wonder. He had disliked the Moon Sovereign’s attitude for a long time, but he currently felt the Moon Sovereign harboured an idea for the Supreme Goddess.

---

The core combatants waited in the heavenly hall, but He-Dao and the Heavenly Agents went to a private meeting chamber for an internal meeting held at Elysia’s request.

"I need to return Nirvana Air Time to you. I separated the other recording. Don’t open it now. You can see it when you are mentally ready." Elysia handed over the glass crystal ball divine artefact to He-Dao’s hand.

"Is it related to that monster?" He-Dao pursed his lips, feeling the gravity of the situation suddenly become heavy.

"Helfheim? Yes, maybe... Also, it’s about her last words..." Elysia laced her fingers together and looked to the side.

"!!!" He-Dao gasped in surprise and trembled as he could guess who Goddess Ely was referring to. "You, you... did you meet her? Tell me, can you please tell me... what’s her situation? Can she still be saved? If it’s you, it’s not impossible, right? Can you save her with your supreme power? I will pay whatever it is, even if it will cost me my life."

"..." The Heavenly Agents could feel the profound pain from their Lord’s gaze. However, it also made them sad.

"Sorry. Only her will remain." Elysia shook her head.

"I see..." He-Dao looked down, sighing in disappointment. After a few minutes, he opened his mouth. "I’m not mentally ready for your last words... but I still remember your dreams and wishes. I shall destroy those monsters and bring back our beautiful world. After that, I can follow you without regret."

"My Lord!" Yuna exclaimed in tears.

"He-Dao, you are not in your clear mind now. Don’t tell me you want to sacrifice yourself to bring the entire Nirvana Abyssal Demons with you to hell. Can hell contain them?" Elysia crossed her arms.

"You’re right. Hell can’t contain them. I can’t let my emotions control me. So, what are your plans, my lady?" He-Dao regained his composure and looked up.

"Do you remember the painting I gifted you?" Elysia gave a subtle signal to the sad Heavenly Agents to control their emotions. This was not a discussion about self-sacrifice, after all.

"That painting of the twelve-winged multi-eyed monster?" He-Dao recalled about it. He got goosebumps just to remember that painting. Luckily, he sealed it somewhere safe.

"The painting contained the divine manifestation to summon the counterfeit heavenly being. The artificial space within it also contained a supermassive anti-matter explosion. You can use it to injure or even kill Helfheim." Elysia spilled the secret feature of that painting.

"Is that so..." He-Dao smirked as he guessed it right. That painting was a dangerous item.

"My role is to help you win the war and protect Heavens. And this is my plan." Elysia then projected her combat plans and strategies to everyone as she needed some advice from them before the plan would be announced to all involved parties.
