Chapter 401: Ruined the Mood
Chapter 401: Ruined the Mood
"Who are you?" The red-haired woman tried her best to look up, staring at the mysterious assassins.
"You reek of vicious fluids and it’s really disgusting." Michael kicked the dead monster bear away, staring intently at the blood-reeking woman.
"This one can do? Since she is led by her evil heart, it’s fine, right?" Jophiel asked her fellow disciples.
They were originally going to observe the survivor’s overall situation, but a bloodthirsty red-haired woman and the monster bear attacked them by chance. Since the enemy possessed evilness, then it would be easier to use her. They could conduct a mind reading to discover the situation in more depth.
"Yeah. It’s absolutely fine. Let me do it." Azrael grabbed the red-haired woman’s head.
"No, no... please don’t kill me. I will do anything." The red-haired woman was terrified by this group of black-robed assassins.
She had no idea which team these people belonged to, but she stood no chance of winning even against one of them.
"The ability to control the vicious beast. You are one of the survivors and have slaughtered dozens of monsters and humans... Let me see what’s going on here." Azrael activated his demonic spiritual power to invade the red-haired woman’s brain.
He peeked at everything that had happened in the last two months from her mind.
After the superplane crashed into the ocean, most of the passengers miraculously survived the fall. More than three hundred people were stranded on this island, and the mysterious voice echoed to everyone about the start of a survival game.
Even though it was called a game, the entire order was so deadly because participants had to kill to get rewards, especially superpower awakening.
Some survivors formed a team to increase their chances of survival, but quite a few chose the depraved path by hunting their fellow humans.
As for this red-haired woman, she was one on the depraved side. She had killed more than a dozen humans, but what happened after she awakened her superpower was something unsightly to behold. She used her mind-controlled beast to satisfy her desire for the unspeakable.
"What in the world..." Azrael stopped his mind reading, feeling a bit nauseous about what he had just seen from the red-haired woman’s mind. He would need holy water for his therapy!
"Are you okay? What did you see?" Uriel handed over an essential oil that could relieve one’s nausea.
"Thanks." Azrael took a deep breath of aromatherapy. Once he felt better, he shared the information with his fellow disciples.
"Eww... if this serial killer craved some bestial warmth, then why don’t we fulfill her wish?" Jophiel made a heart love finger gesture, ready to charm any vicious beast to satisfy the serial killer to death.
"We have no grievance against her. She makes our work easier. Leave her alone. We should report this to our masters. On this island, there may be a Demon God." Gabriella shook her head.
Everyone nodded in agreement. It was probably the fallen Demon God’s soul remnant, looking for a good vessel for one’s to take over. Only God could do such a feat, granting some superpower left and right. And, this deadly survival game was already ridiculous to consider.
"Hmm..." Jophiel sprinkled a little pink powder around the unconscious woman before going with her comrades back to their masters on the north coast.
Her eldest senior sister wanted to leave this red-haired woman alone, but that could also be interpreted as something else. After all, they should not leave the possible evil troublemaker just like that.
Some little beasts and monsters approached from their surroundings and preyed upon the fallen. However, Gabriella’s team had gone far from the area.
---
"A Demon God is hosting a deadly survival game?" Elysia glanced at her sisters as she couldn’t help but recall the deadly game held by Ruvoid God five years ago.
"This is a Demon God’s doing. We should eradicate this evil remnant." Gaia nodded, agreeing with what Elysia was thinking.
"He wanted to revive himself. Well, that ruined our family’s survival game." Elena heaved a subtle sigh, aware of what Elysia was feeling. The situation was truly a mood killer and ruined the fun.
"It’s okay. We can hold another fun game at a later date in another place. Zera, can you slay this Demon God’s soul remnant? Don’t let him escape." Elysia crouched down and tapped her shadow.
"As your wish, master." Zera summoned a super long sword, Celestia. She regained her inner peace and was ready for some action.
"Why don’t you ask for my help, Ely?" Ai offered help, feeling she could do the task better than Zera.
"Zera is enough. She needs to blow off some steam as well." Elysia stroked Ai’s head gently, then looked aside. "Sylvi, please make that mountain erupt in one hour. We will scare the survivors and lead them to the north coast."
"Aye!" Sylvia saluted and then flew away to the rocky mountain in the middle of the island. It wasn’t a volcano, but she could make it one.
"Then, we should make some rafts, and leave some dead ends to lead them north." Elysia put her hands together.
"We’re going to save them all?" Rhea asked in wonder. She thought they would only save only those who were worth saving.
"We’ll just leave a few rafts and two-way radios behind. They can save themselves and call for help. Also, it’s apparently not entirely their fault for falling into depravity." Elysia shook her head and glanced at Fortuna.
"Uhm, my bad. I divined some of them unworthy of our help, unaware of the Demon God’s intervention." Fortuna apologized.
"Haha, Fortuna is indeed unreliable." Darkness laughed happily.
"Darkness, are you willing to scare the survivors and lead them to this northern coast? I will help you to manifest your human form later." Elysia offered an irresistible deal. Fortuna was her Contracted Goddess, and this pitiful bird deserved some compensation.
"Please leave it to me. I enjoy working with you, Goddess Ely." Darkness considered nothing more. She had been bothered with her bird body for years already. Goddess Ely’s help and favor weighed more than anything else, much more generous than Fortuna’s.
Rhea easily made several tens of rafts that could accommodate at least ten people each. Gaia went south, east, and west to create some dead ends in the form of swamps or other troublesome zones that would encourage anyone to choose another path instead of going through.
Once the rafts were placed in their designated places, Evelyn and Vanessa did the finishing touches. Sylvia left a super lava bomb inside the top of the rock mountain and fled from the scene.
Meanwhile, Zera went to the ancient tomb in the heart of the island. It was easy to spot with her divine sense. She dug the tomb and found an entrance to the ruins underground.
"..." Zera checked her surroundings with her divine sense. She felt incredibly calm at that moment, but she slashed anything that blocked her path without a word, going straight to the innermost hall where the Demon God’s soul remnant was located.
"Wait, wait! Who are you, and where do you come from? Why are you messing around on my turf? We have all agreed not to bud into each other’s business!" The demonic ghost emerged from his resting place, greatly surprised by the intruder.
His plan was underway, and all survivors had received a fragment of his power. The winner should not be determined so soon, and even if the winner emerged that soon, his vessel should not develop to the Godly level like this demonic lady of darkness!
"..." Zera slashed the Demon God’s soul remnant. She had no idea about this Demon God’s title or anything. The target needed to be wiped out right away.
"Argh!"
The sword slash split the ghost in half, but Celestia’s dark attribute made the depraved soul fall into agony, unable to recover.
Zera made a grasping hand motion, gripping the remnant and turning it into spiritual powder for her to absorb.
Everything was so easy and smooth, considering the soul remnant was so weak and posed no threat to her. Since the mission was completed, she turned around, about to leave.
However, some sparkling treasures in the coffin above the altar attracted her attention. Some demonic items were lying around without owners, and they could possibly become good treasures after purification.
Zera considered her decision for a moment before looting all the valuable objects from that underground hall.
"Blame your bad luck to encounter us with this kind of ridiculous game." Zera looked back at the empty hall once before stomping her feet on the ground.
*Rumble!*
The ground shook, causing the walls to collapse, burying the ruins. Zera vanished through the void, instantly returning to Elysia’s side.
"Welcome back. It’s less than two minutes. You sure are fast, Zera. What about the Demon God’s soul remnant?" Elysia welcomed Zera while checking the timer.
"He was destroyed under one slash. I took his treasures with me." Zera threw the demonic relics and cursed items out of the void, creating a pile.
"I see. You did well, thank you." Elysia grasped Zera’s hand.
"It’s my honor." Zera felt joy rise in her heart. It was nice to feel loved and appreciated.
"I’m back! The lava bomb has been planted and will explode in an hour." Sylvia waved her hand as she flew over.
"Well done. Then, let’s leave this place." Elena clapped her hands, attracting everyone’s attention.
Xentia drove the space bus to pick everyone up before leaving that island. However, they didn’t leave far because they wanted to see what would happen next.
An hour later, the rocky mountain erupted, spilling tons of lava out. Thick volcanic smoke rose high into the sky, accompanied by an earthquake. Monsters and beasts roared in fear, fleeing in droves from the erupting volcano.
"Earthquake, and volcanic eruption!? Damn, everyone, we need to escape as soon as possible! Quick, quick!" Casey rushed out of the hiding cave and paled when he discovered a natural disaster that would soon wipe out all living things.
"Good Heaven. Has someone managed to clear the game? The others are doomed to die?"
"I don’t want to die. Run, run!"
"Wait for me!"
The other survivors ran away from the erupting volcano. Casey as the leader stood guard at the back, frowning at the volcanic eruption. However, he had no time to think because everyone would die if they failed to get away to a safe distance in time.
