My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 419: The Reincarnated Old Friend

Chapter 419: The Reincarnated Old Friend

The manager explained the situation, and the angry customer immediately bowed to apologize for his impulse. He then received his purchase.

’Ely, isn’t he strangely familiar? I’m sure we’ve met him before.’ Elena tried to recall it, but she couldn’t remember the insignificant thing so clearly.

’Mm, he is Amano Sora, the same guy who wanted to snatch my purchase five years ago. He is an SS-level esper. But, why isn’t he listed on the ranked esper list?’ Elysia informed Xentia regarding this matter for confirmation.

Xentia checked various information using her super system and then shared the results of her investigation. ’You are right, master. Amano Sora is most likely hiding his true identity as an esper. Earth has many hidden experts who are not affiliated with the World Unity Force and the Esper Association.’

’Since his name is not listed anywhere despite being an SS-level esper, then he is most likely a secret agent. What are we going to do?’ Elena came up with a conclusion.

’There’s nothing to do. We need to leave him alone.’ Elysia shook her head and turned around.

"..." Elena looked back at that young man’s beaming expression after finally getting his purchase in hand.

Unlike the other men, that guy was unfazed even when faced with three ethereal beauties. However, she just remembered that they were covered by an energy veil to disguise their heavenly charm and aura from the mortals.

"E-eh?" Elysia was just about to get out of the store, but Lifa and Rhea came to pick her up.

’Rhea told me about something, and I felt the presence of a familiar divine-like aura coming from around here. Ely, can you please scan everyone’s soul in this store. Did you find anything odd?’ Lifa looked right and left as if she was looking for something.

’Mm, I’ll try it. Cover me.’ Elysia held Elena’s hand and activated her Sacred Vision, checking the true identity of the souls of everyone in the shop.

She didn’t find anything strange from the employees and other visitors. Their souls were filled with awe expressions and pure appreciation when they looked at her group, but they found something unusual about the collector guy.

<| Lv. 81 | Amano Sora | Male (32) |>

<| Talent: 5 Stars | UR |>

Elysia saw the same status screen as the one she encountered a few minutes ago, but that guy possessed a divine soul under the name Sorush, the God of Sky.

The name was oddly familiar to one of the God’s soul remnants they had encountered in Vrelenia. The one that bestowed Evelyn with a divine legacy known as Impeccable Storm.

Elysia immediately shared the results of her observations with Lifa and Rhea.

"Sure enough. His aura is oddly familiar. He is the same stalker that day, master. I failed to identify him five years ago, but the truth is coming to light now." Rhea clenched her fist.

Lifa nodded in reply and walked towards the mentioned guy.

The employees and other visitors were once again amazed by the presence of another breathtaking beauty. They felt blessed to meet many top-tier ladies today.

Amano Sora was oblivious to the situation until Lifa released her subtle divine aura.

"!!!" Amano Sora gasped in surprise and took a few steps back, shocked by the sudden threat. He then looked at the source of that oppressive aura and widened his eyes wide. "You!"

"Hmm, long time no see, old friend. This is not the time for us to talk. How about we go somewhere else?" Lifa pointed her thumb backward with a faint smile on her face.

Amano Sora broke in a cold sweat and tried his best to calm himself down. He then looked aside and prepared to run away. "Haha, what are you talking about, ma’am? You got the wrong person. I’m just an otaku, mech lover with zero acquaintance with anyone of the opposite sex. Please excuse me."

Amano Sora went past Lifa, but Lifa wouldn’t just let him go. She grabbed his shoulder and emphasized her words as an irrefutable command. "We didn’t make any mistakes. Follow us, Sorush."

"Ahahah, that’s useless, huh... I can hide nothing in front of you, ma’am." Sorush laughed awkwardly. He was finally dragged away by the group of beauties.

"Damn, I’m so jealous."

"Is that green-haired mesmerizing mommy his step-mom? He was caught red-handed when he wasted money on expensive toys."

"Who knows, but he got dragged by that group full of beauties. Are they supermodels or something?"

"I want to be dragged too. I want to be stepped on also. Ah, I haven’t taken a picture of them yet."

"I held my breath as they came closer. They were the most beautiful women I had ever met."

Various kinds of conversations soon broke out in the shop after the beauties were no longer there.

---

"Name."

"Amano Sora."

"Your divine title."

"The God of Sky..."

"Your country of origin, background, occupation, and residence address."

"Hey, isn’t this a bit excessive? Can you leave me alone?"

"Then tell us how you could be reincarnated on Earth when your soul remnant tried its best to find some inheritors and ways to revive himself?"

Lifa tapped her finger onto the interrogation table, making Sorush break out in a cold sweat.

Sorush was surrounded by a group of scary beauties. Their glares seemed to pierce him from the outside in, giving him nothing but pure uneasiness.

He looked around, finding several familiar faces. Besides the intimidating Goddess of Life, he could see the Goddess of Blessings and the Goddess of Nature were there as well.

Then, he looked at the nearby lovely Young Goddess, the only gentle-looking one, and the one whom everyone referred to as Ely. She was the girl he stalked five years ago because she possessed an otherworldly aura that was strangely familiar to Vrelenia, and sure enough, she was from there!

"How could I know? I died that day. But, my soul remnant... May I know about his situation?" Sorush grasped his hand and looked down slightly with complicated feelings.

He previously stalked Ely for some clarity, but he failed to meet her again five years ago. He even traveled to several cities to catch up with her, but she could vanish and go who knows where.

Since he could no longer find any hint about Vrelenia, he decided to focus on Earth, his new life. This world was pretty good too.

Even though Earth had become chaotic lately, he persisted and occasionally moved in the shadows to protect his daily life. However, who would have thought that his old friends would come to Earth again, putting him in a dilemma.

"That one... more or less fine. We gave him a special place in our Sky Library, a place where talents from all over the world gather to study. His well-being is preserved there with no risk of soul dissipation." Lifa sighed.

"I see..." Sorush smiled faintly and also sighed.

"We’re going to Vrelenia soon. Do you want to come with us?" Lifa offered, even though she felt the other party no longer had the heart for Vrelenia.

"I need to think about it again. This world is like a new home for me. My reincarnation... I also have a little family here. After I reach divine ascension, I will travel between planets again and visit Vrelenia." Sorush stared out the window with a complicated yet nostalgic look.

"Well then, we can’t force you. We’ll convey your words to your soul remnant." Lifa nodded in understanding and asked Xentia to stop the bus.

Sorush understood the gesture. Therefore, he got up from his seat and walked away. The moment he passed by a blonde-haired, princess-looking girl, he sensed a heart-throbbing sense of deja vu from her.

He looked aside, staring into her emerald eyes with surprise and wonder.

"We will leave tomorrow. Earth will undergo a cataclysm in a hundred years. You can reconsider your decision." Evelyn grasped her hand and spoke with a polite attitude.

"Who are you?" Sorush frowned, feeling like this girl was like a part of him.

"She is Evelyn Mitchell, the first inheritor who holds the God of Sky’s divine legacy, and also the possessor of Impeccable Storm, the core power you left behind. Eve, please properly pay your respect to the ancestor." Elysia explained with a smile.

"I, Evelyn Mitchell, pay her respect to Ancestor Sorush." Evelyn stood up and showed her respect like a royal princess.

"Hush, don’t keep calling me by my true name..." Sorush felt a bit worried. He then breathed a sigh of relief and patted Evelyn’s shoulder. "Cultivate well, my heir. I can see you have a similar passion as me. I’ll visit Vrelenia on my own accord in the future. May the grace of the world and the universe remain with you."

"Aren’t you curious about Vrelenia’s situation? Anything related to Ruvoid?" Evelyn asked in wonder at this carefree God’s attitude.

"Well, since you look good, then the Ruvoid case is more or less resolved. The one that escaped to Earth has also been eradicated. Now it’s just a matter of the otherworld merge and the Underworld Realm collapse. I’ve been enlightened. Until we meet again, ladies." Sorush raised his hand in farewell.

His relieved expression immediately returned to a casual one after the bus was no longer in his sight.

"There are still a lot of things I need to do here. How could I just leave them and everything like that? But, a hundred years, huh..." Sorush muttered while looking up at the sky.
