My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 456: Allocated Grievances

Chapter 456: Allocated Grievances

"Will that be okay?" Evelyn was concerned about the potential scheme that would harm the Reinhard Family again.

"It’s fine. Those amulets will protect them. They know what they should do." Elysia took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, adjusting her mood and mind.

"If you say so..." Evelyn nodded in understanding. She then went toward Erina as she wished to seek some guidance from the experienced noble. "Erina-sama~"

"W-what?" Erina flinched in surprise, but it was Evelyn.

"I need to seek some guidance from you."

"Yeah, sure. What do you want to know?"

Evelyn and Erina then talked about several things. Evelyn was worried because her family might make things difficult for her, and Erina as an experienced independent strong lady was happy to help the troubled Evelyn.

However, Erina didn’t do it for free. Evelyn was the easiest to leak secrets, including those related to Elysia, and Erina took advantage of it to inquire several things that she might not have known about Elysia from Evelyn.

Evelyn felt somewhat relieved after getting some enlightenment about her future stance towards her family. She was probably just overthinking it.

Evelyn expressed her gratitude to Erina. "Yeah, thanks for your advice. So, I just need to stay close to Ely and no one dares to mess with me, hum-mm~"

"Yes, it’s the easiest thing if you find it difficult to refuse or answer their request. So, now it’s my turn. I want to know more about Ellie. Maybe, from when she was still a student." Erina put her hands together.

"I don’t dare share this with outsiders, but since you are part of us, then I think it’s okay. Did you know? Ely never lied once." Evelyn glanced left and right before answering in a whisper while covering her mouth.

"Yeah, I know. Ellie’s dao is the path of truth and honesty, right?" Erina nodded several times.

"Unlike Ely in her serious mode, at certain times, Ely will play around with her answers. Let me ask. What will you answer if other people ask where you are from?" Evelyn raised her finger as if it was a serious conversation.

"I guess, Earth or Japan might be a plausible answer." Erina tapped her chin.

"Hehe, but Ely will answer ’I’m from home’. If someone else tries to probe further, Ely will play around with her words until the other party feels tired. Even the most amiable gentleman in the academy couldn’t handle her." Evelyn crossed her arms and laughed lightly.

"Oh, woah! I think I want to chat with Ellie about some trivial matters now. Her responses will definitely be entertaining~" Erina covered her mouth and looked at Elysia in the commander’s seat.

"!?" He-Dao accidentally eavesdroped on Erina and Evelyn’s conversation. He took a note regarding Elysia’s dao of truth and honesty.

"..." Elysia put her hand to her forehead. She had no idea how to handle Evelyn’s big mouth, but it was still okay because they were fellow sisters, exchanging some trivial matters.

’Ely, please let me out of here. I can’t stay around Fortuna for long.’ Darkness voiced out her request.

’Did something happen? Did Fortuna bully you?’ Elysia blinked her eyes in wonder, but she opened the Nature Realm’s portal for Darkness to come out.

"Phew." Darkness hopped out of the Nature Realm. "You said I’m not beneath her, and I’m not her subordinate. I dislike that btch, no matter what she does. I don’t want to linger around her."

"I see, but don’t hate her, okay? We’ll compensate you for what she owes. She will also need to do her share of things." Elysia handed over some tasty snacks to Darkness.

She fully understood what Fortuna did to Darkness wasn’t commendable.

In the past, Fortuna offered a deal to Darkness, and Darkness agreed to work for Fortuna. However, some situations put Darkness as Fortuna’s subordinate for many tasks and jobs.

After that, Darkness literally had to do all of Fortuna’s duties, but the God King assigned Fortuna to follow and monitor Elysia’s group. That was the beginning of how Fortuna joined Elysium.

However, what happened to Darkness afterward was painful and sad. Darkness lost her home because the Darkness Secret Realm collapsed along with the Underworld, and when the chaos of the world merge occurred, Darkness died at the hands of the otherworld’s Gods.

After being reincarnated, Darkness experienced a difficult life. Apart from starting over, her species changed from bat to bird because Fortuna’s fate divinity affected Darkness’ reincarnation.

It was fine to recruit a Goddess as a subordinate, but Fortuna mistreated Darkness. When Darkness came to collect the debt, Fortuna played it easily and treated it as something trivial. More importantly, Fortuna laughed at Darkness’ misfortune.

That was what made Darkness’ hatred towards Fortuna peak.

As the Goddess of Fate, Fortuna was relatively weak, but Fortuna held the power of fate and fortune. As someone who could foresee the future, Fortuna could predict many possibilities and used Elysium as a super safe sanctuary. Fortuna fled Earth alone to take refuge under Elysium’s auspice, and that assumption also made Darkness dissatisfied.

"Thanks. I can’t get along with her. You don’t need to compensate me anything. Your goodwill is already too much for me, Ely." Darkness sighed and sat near Elysia’s legs, eating her snack.

She literally became Elysia’s group member, but her new life under Elysia’s care was much better than what she could have hoped for. Unlike Fortuna, Elysia was so attentive and caring as a leader, treating everyone in Elysium as family.

"I that so? We will visit Eve’s homeland soon. Do you want to join us?" Elysia stroked Darkness’ long hair.

One thing Darkness didn’t know was Fortuna had to sell one’s divine soul to Elysia, and that was how Fortuna joined Elysium’s Goddess sisterhood. They shared all of their power with Elysia, and that was how they managed to kill the Ruvoid Gods in the past. However, Sera’s assistance was still required to deal the finishing blow so the cosmic monster couldn’t revive continuously.

Regardless, no matter what scheme the cunning fate twister could hold, Elysia would always stand on the greater ground over anything.

However, she already foresees Fortuna’s nature. Some things between Fortuna and Darkness happened due to negligence and coincidence. Fortuna’s true nature was actually good, albeit pretty selfish. Even so, Darkness’ grievances were real, and she had to do something for this matter.

Therefore, she privately held a secret discussion with Elena and Ai in her mind.

"I wish to join this trip." Darkness somehow gained peace of mind under Elysia’s caress.

She finally understood how that hateful btch could behave so well like an obedient girl. Elysia tamed Fortuna for sure.

Considering the other Goddesses were still busy in the Nature Realm, making preparations and countermeasures to face the Polluted Sea God, then Fortuna was unlikely to bother her if she remained by Elysia’s side. It was her turn to play it dirty and took cover behind Elysia.

"Heehee~" Darkness began to plot several plans to make Fortuna suffer a bit.

While Xentia brought everyone to Evelyn’s homeland, Vanessa and Sylvia were a bit occupied with things in the Helven Realm.

"We’ll hold a world boss raid event soon. Our target is the ruler of the seas, the Sea God. Only those who finish their military training are allowed to participate. Come on, show us your determination!" Sylvia smacked the slacking beasts with a whip. "You there. Do you call that a push-up? Why use your stomach? That’s a back-up."

"Don’t be unreasonable, girl! I’m a whale with fins, no hands!" Wales voiced his protest.

He followed the monster military training with his fellow brothers and sisters under twentyfold gravity, but the demoness instructor asked him to push up even though she knew he was a whale, albeit in his small form.

"Then use those fins of yours. You need to pull your own weight during the world boss raid or you cannot participate." Sylvia smacked the disobedient beast.

"Damn, demoness!" Wales grumbled, but he still did his push-ups.

"Ah, well, that’s me, the demoness." Sylvia smiled proudly and went to discipline the other beasts.

Those who didn’t have legs and arms like the serpent or some invertebrates received some beating. That was pretty unreasonable, but since it was a push-up session, then even a worm had to do it right without using their stomach.

"What should I do?" Vanessa nibbled her fingernails as she was agitated. Sylvia supposedly helped her with the military training after her uncle and aunt got appointed as the monster army’s officers. However, she became Sylvia’s assistant in the monster military training instead.

"Good. Those of you who have successfully completed five hundred push-ups can leave the gravity field and rest. For those who have not yet reached five hundred, a weight weighing one ton will be placed on your back in five minutes. You better finish your session as soon as possible~" Sylvia hummed melodiously, praising those who successfully completed their push-ups, and giving punishment to those who were slow.

"Demoness!" Hydragon exclaimed in annoyance. He struggled to complete his push-ups in his small form, but the instructor was truly cruel.

"Oh my, that’s me. You don’t need to call out my title loudly. Even though our master will ensure your safety in the world boss raid, you will be battered half to death if you underestimate the enemy. Stop complaining, and quickly finish the push-ups, or you need to do it with a ballast." Sylvia smacked the protester on the back.

After that, she returned to Vanessa’s side. More than ten beasts managed to complete the training session perfectly. Gio and Cherub became the two most superior to the others.

"I guess, Ely and the others have finished with matters at the Reinhard Family, right? I knew it! I’m actually innocent." Sylvia couldn’t help but complain.

"Mm, but the truth is still not revealed yet. Our master left the rest of the problem for the Reinhard Family to solve." Vanessa nodded in agreement.

"I’m also a victim, actually. Ugh, don’t let me find the true mastermind behind that evil scheme. I’m afraid I’ll tear them apart into smithereens." Sylvia gritted her teeth in anger.

If she recalled the past, she was guilty because she literally killed her master with her own hand. However, the recent discovery regarding the alleged true mastermind who orchestrated the tragedy to weaken the Reinhard Family made her very uncomfortable.

She was treated as a pawn and executioner, taking all the blame. If she thought about it, she truly wanted to ask for Elysia’s permission to hunt down those vermins and pests, eradicating all of them.
