My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 559: Blatant Confrontation

Chapter 559: Blatant Confrontation

Those who caused trouble for the Elysion Church in the past week were still the small fries. Even so, the respective factions that backed those people would still be held responsible for the hostility.

Since the Martial Arts Competition was attended by higher-ups from all factions and organizations in the Human Realm, then this event would be the best possible opportunity to announce to the world about the Elysion Chruch’s might, and also the best chance to demand an explanation from the Emperor and the involved factions.

Knowing that, Elysia shared some information and conveyed her instructions to her disciples and the Elysion Church’s representatives as they should cause a scene in the Martial Arts Competition.

"..." Gabriella pondered about it. Her master said that they would greet the Temple of Glory’s God and the Emperor of Stevia, but they skipped the former and went straight to the latter.

As for the reason? Her master spilled about the fact that the God of Glory had a bad temper and was racist, so the meeting wasn’t peaceful when her master visited the Temple of Glory’s branch. Regardless, her master already received the understanding from the Temple of Glory’s God. As one of the major factions, the Temple of Glory acknowledged the Elysion Church and would support them, but that didn’t mean they became allies.

"The higher-ups are in the VIP seats. Myra, please lead the entry on behalf of the Elysion Church to demand an explanation. Test the Temple of Glory’s stance and the Emperor’s solution. Also, you may register those under thirty to participate in the competition to test the water. Disciples, those summoned heroes were blessed by God. Pass the placement classification to the primary competition, and you can test their combat power in the main arena." Elysia pointed to the VIP seats, where the higher-ups and heroes sat.

"Understood." The ten core disciples replied with a knight salute.

They looked at the seven summoned heroes with a determined gaze, knowing their status could be considered the same, the heroes who served a God.

Based on the information their master provided, those summoned heroes came from the otherworld and would embark on a journey to slay the Demon King of Extreme Evil next week. They should test those summoned heroes, and all of them were eager to do it. They also wished to prove themselves before their master that they, the heroes chosen and nurtured by their master were the strongest!

"Your wish is our command." Myra, Daemyx, and the Elysion Church’s representatives bowed respectfully toward Elysia.

"It’s okay to be unreasonable because they attacked us first. Show them who’s boss. We got your back." Vanessa gave a thumbs up.

After a moment of pause, Daemyx looked at the arena with a faint smile. "Please leave the rest for us, Your Grace. We shall make them acknowledge our might."

"Mm." Elysia replied with a subtle nod. Yet, she suddenly remembered that two of her disciples possessed the demon-like power, and it might cause unnecessary hostility as it was an event witnessed by tens of thousands of people. "Wait, Azrael, Jophiel, you’re not allowed to participate."

"Uh-huh? Why, master?" Jophiel’s complexion became pale and her eyes became a bit teary. It was unfair to be excluded suddenly like that.

"If this disciple may ask, do you have other arrangements for us, master?" Azrael clasped his fist, feeling there was a good reason for everything behind his master’s decisions.

"You may incur the wrath of everyone in this arena and become the target of hostility once your true power is known to those orthodox sects. The humans here are not as friendly as in the Terra World." Elysia crossed her arms and shook her head.

"If it’s the reason, then please rest assured, master. I shall seal my true power, only using my martial arts and holy techniques. In case the opponent is capable enough to force me to use my true power, then I shall forfeit the battle." Azrael pleaded with his reasoning. He really wished to exchange some moves with those prodigies, especially the summoned heroes blessed by the local God.

"Alright, you’ve my permission then." Elysia nodded in understanding and then looked at Jophiel.

"I-" Jophiel put her fingers together with a pitiful expression. If she had to seal her true power, then she was no different than a weak mortal girl. Most of her abilities were leaning toward the demoness side, after all.

"Too bad, junior sister. You can’t participate in this event." Azrael smirked. He knew that one day he couldn’t rely on his demonic power, so he also cultivated other techniques.

"Master, hic..." Jophiel sobbed a little as she also wished to impress her master in the arena, but she received no opportunity.

"Hush, hush, come here. You’re a big girl already, so don’t cry. Master does not mean to exclude you. You’re very good at playing with people’s emotions, so help Myra to cause trouble to those hostile factions. Make them realize that the Elysion Chruch and Sacred Sakura shouldn’t be offended or they shall suffer the consequences. Can you do it?" Elysia opened her arms and hugged Jophiel, whispering softly.

"Mm, Jophi will do as master says." Jophiel looked up with a smile. She couldn’t show off in the arena, but she received the exclusive task. With her alluring beauty, she was indeed most suitable for this task.

With a feeling of relief, Jophiel buried her face in her master’s breasts, inhaling her master’s heavenly fragrance. A few seconds later, she bid her farewell with a cheerful smile and went with everyone to make a scene.

Elysia waved her hand. Seeing her people go into the arena with a proper entrance, she took out a table and two chairs, complete with pastries and tea sets. She and Vanessa sat peacefully, watching the event unfold.

As the Martial Arts Competition reached its crescendo, the attention of the crowd suddenly shifted to the grand entrance of the Imperial Arena. A solemn hush fell over the spectators as the enormous metal gates creaked open, revealing a procession of figures clad in immaculate white and gold robes.

They bore the crest of a radiant five-petal flower-like golden sunburst encircled by a pair of interlocking silver rings, with a central cross adorned with intricate celestial engravings. The Elysion Church’s representatives came to visit, led by the Holy Knight Deity and the Demi-God Saint.

The holy knight, a pinnacle figure of the mortal boundary clad in gleaming golden armor that seemed to radiate divine light, strode forward with purpose. Her helmet adorned with golden wings cast a shadow over her stern face.

At her side walked the saint. His presence was equally commanding and overbearing. Clad in flowing white robes embroidered with silver and gold, he exuded a serene yet formidable aura.

Following behind them were ten Sacred Sakura’s core disciples, the Apostles, and ten Elysion Church’s chosen representatives.

The procession moved with an imposing grace, the clatter of their armored boots echoing through the arena like the tolling of a bell. The crowd, sensing the gravity of the moment, watched in stunned silence as the church delegation made their way toward the Emperor’s dais. The tension was palpable, as every eye in the arena was fixed on this unexpected turn of events.

"Halt! State your background and purpose!" An imperial guard intercepted the newly arrived group before they came any closer to the Emperor.

"You have no authority to stop us from our noble purpose." Myra spoke in a low, cold voice. She exerted her 10th Rank pressure for a second to make her intention known to everyone.

"Ack!" The imperial guard was flattened to the ground with several broken bones. He almost thought that he was dead in that second, but a moment later, a gentle light healed him from his injuries.

"Hm." Daemyx deactivated his healing magic and nodded to Myra.

"!!!" Almost everyone held their breath after knowing the newly arrived group was led by a Deity and the Demi-God. They had no idea what this newly arrived group wanted, but this group showed a clear indication that it would not be a peaceful visit.

As the Elysion Church’s group arrived near the Emperor’s dais, Myra stepped forward, her voice ringing out like a clarion call. "Your Imperial Majesty."

"May I ask the purpose of your arrival, esteemed Knight Deity?" The Emperor of Stevia broke in a cold sweat, but he still maintained his calm demeanor. He had no recollection of problems related to any religion, but the unfriendliness was obvious. If he couldn’t handle it well, he knew the unprecedented disaster might come to follow.

"We come not to partake in this celebration, but to seek answers. The recent actions of your people, allies, and their affiliates have caused great disturbance and turmoil within our sacred land. The Elysion Church demands an explanation and restitution for these grievances." Myra replied with a firm and authoritative tone.

The Emperor of Stevia maintained his composure despite the unexpected confrontation. He rose slowly from his throne with a mix of surprise and calm determination. "Esteemed Knight Deity, I assure you, we operate with the utmost integrity. If there have been actions that caused harm or discord, they were not under my command or approval. I will ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to address your concerns."

"Your Majesty, our purpose here is to uphold the balance and harmony. We might be a new faction in this world, but we took possession of the land to build our church legally. Yet, after transforming it into a sacred land, the so-called orthodox sects and human alliances tried their best to destroy us and also branded us as a heretic cult. If today, those who backed up the troublemakers we captured, cannot satisfy us, I’m afraid we will have no choice but to retaliate." Daemyx added with an unsettled and unwavering voice.

"How bold of you! So, you are the bastard heathens who suddenly emerged like rats in our land, and caused, uh?" A particular side elder snapped in annoyance.

Sadly, he couldn’t finish his sentence because he suddenly felt a tingling sensation on his cheek. He checked it only to find that he was bleeding, but he couldn’t even comprehend what just happened.

"An ignorant insect who serves no God. We’re the messengers of the almighty divine being. We shall not tolerate the insult toward our belief, Her divine name and teaching." Gabriella sheathed her sword and glared at the surrounding elders at the VIP seats, taunting everyone with a stern remark.

"Such a young Deity, but why are you bringing people to bully our subjects and cause trouble in our sacred event? My descendant, what have you done to incur their wrath?" An old man in a pure white robe emerged out of thin air, floating between the Emperor of Stevia and the dissatisfied Knight Deity to question the clarity of both parties.

"Reginald Malone Galashiels, greet ancestor." Reginald, the Emperor of Stevia, knelt in respect.

The Imperial Princess and all imperial family members also knelt before their revered ancestor.

"Come down, and we shall talk. Our attitudes and actions will depend on the answer we receive today." Myra pointed her index finger down, asking the opposing Deity to stand on equal ground because she did not want to keep looking up.

"Well, well..." Galashiels, the imperial family’s ancestor, sighed and flew down with the Emperor by his side.

The Imperial Princess, the Generals, and even the summoned heroes entered the arena to confront the Elysion Church, but Galashiels asked them to keep their distance as it might be a confrontation between Deities.

As the exchange between the imperial family and the Elysion Church’s representatives took place, the arena’s atmosphere was filled with thick tension and uncertainty. All eyes were on the arena, waiting to see how this unexpected confrontation would unfold.
