My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 568: This Egg Deserve to Live

Chapter 568: This Egg Deserve to Live

"What are we going to do with this egg?"

"This one contains a super dangerous monster, right? That Demon Queen said she created it to take over the world."

"But, it hasn’t hatched yet. Does this one possess the power to rival a God?"

"I don’t think so because the Demon Queen’s experiment hasn’t achieved the results she wanted yet. The embryo inside it isn’t even alive..."

"You’re right. This artificial egg is literally dead."

"With that being said, should we just destroy this egg and give it a proper burial?"

The girls deliberated on what they were going to do with the egg that Zera had confiscated from Demon Queen Azril’s secret lab.

"No, you can’t! This egg deserves to be hatched." Xentia pushed the girls aside and spread her arms, protecting the egg.

"Xen, this egg will never hatch. The embryo inside is dead. The most Demon Queen Azril can do is grow it up into an undead monster." Ella tried to explain it as this demonic egg would bring nothing but calamity.

"Master must have a way. She can revive the dead back to life. This monster egg will hatch and become a new addition to master’s calamity monster army." Xentia tried to reason. She looked at her master as she had to obtain permission for it. Once Elysia said it, the decision would be made and nobody would argue about it.

"..." Elysia was silent for a moment.

This situation reminded her of what she did on Earth last month. She revived a dead egg with her divine power. Althea Phylum, her half daughter hatched from the multiform jelly queen’s dead egg.

At that time Ophelia Phylum begged the Gods and Deities with various desperate yet sincere prayers. No local Gods answered, but she came as a savior and hope, granting Ophelia’s wish. That was the beginning of her getting a multiform jelly queen, one of the otherworldly monster overlords on Earth, as her faithful follower.

Since Xentia’s desire was clear, of course, she would grant it. Even though it was an egg from a monster that could destroy the world, it didn’t matter because she already created the place for such an extremely dangerous monster in her monster army.

"Xen, I shall take a small fragment of your soul to revive it. Are you willing?" Elysia approached the egg and stroked it.

"Obey." Xentia knew her master loved her. She wished to hatch the egg and her master granted her wish. Even though the price wasn’t cheap, she could always heal her soul wound later.

Elysia pressed her finger on Xentia’s forehead and began the ritual. She transplanted a small fragment of Xentia’s soul and put it in the dead embryo within the egg. After that, she used Lifa’s divinity to bring it to life.

*Thump* *Thump* *Thump*

The pulse of life beat from the large egg. Xentia could feel it as if a spiritual connection had just been established between her and the egg. After her master released her forehead, she held her master’s hand with a sincere sense of gratitude. "Thank you, master!"

"Mm, but this one needs many nutrients now." Elysia nodded and tapped the egg.

"I shall ensure this one will hatch into a powerful calamity beast, master. Allow me to take this baby to ES Nirvana." Xentia nodded in understanding. It would be her first experience to ’produce’ a living creature in her lab, not the usual mechs, robots, and dolls.

After receiving permission from Elysia, Xentia took the large egg from Zera’s hand. She also invited Lyla, Luna, and Lynn specifically as she needed their help.

Luna and Lynn couldn’t refuse Xentia’s request, and therefore, Yusagi volunteered to come along since she didn’t want to be separated from Luna.

"Two of the thirteen Demon Kings are on our side now. What are we going to do about the other eleven?" Erina asked in wonder as she still couldn’t guess Elysia’s final plan.

"The Elysion Church will do the rest for us as those two will cooperate with Daemyx’s plan." Ella smiled in reply.

"Then, let’s watch the Martial Arts Competition. I also wish to see the summoned heroes and their cheat abilities." Evelyn rubbed her hands together as she could barely contain her curiosity.

"Hum, it’s just a bunch of boys and girls blessed by the Earth’s system and also the Glorious God. They still can’t hold a candle compared to our family’s apostles." Vanessa rolled her eyes.

"Huh? They got blessed in their original world, and they also received the additional blessing upon the summoning? So, double the power?" Morfina was intrigued.

"Yeah, and one of them has a contract with a Great Demon King of Hell, proly backed by a Demon God as well. Let’s say, the fake hero experienced three awakenings." Vanessa nodded several times.

"Do you know who the fake hero is?" Yae asked in curiosity.

"Hum-mm, please elaborate." Erina nodded as she also wanted to know more.

"This..." Vanessa was troubled. She had yet to hear anything from her master about the further details.

"You girls... let’s go there first. We can talk further in the Imperial Arena." Elysia smiled in amusement.

She manifested a magic circle and brought everyone to leave the scene. They teleported to the Imperial Arena’s secluded spot under the shade of the outermost wall.

The Imperial Arena was still not crowded as the event would start in an hour, but Elysia soon noticed the erratic fluctuations from one of her disciples.

"Miko, please find Jophi. She is being targeted by the fake hero." Elysia manifested her plushie avatar to the outside world.

Miko, the plushie avatar, transformed into a graceful sacred shrine priestess in white-red robes. "Alright, mama. Someone wants to mess around with Jophi-chan, huh. Let’s see what he has up his sleeve."

Miko squinted her gaze in a particular direction and vanished from the scene to carry out her task.

---

"Hey, where have you been, Liu Kang? We’ve been waiting for you for an important discussion before the tournament begins." Richard Rees raised his hand, muttering somewhat disgruntledly.

"Yeah, yeah... I encountered Priestess Jovee, and greeted her briefly." Liu Kang rubbed his head with an awkward smile.

"What, for real? Damn, I tried to hit her up yesterday, but she went who knows where. Where is she now?" Richard Rees stood up, feeling somewhat envious.

"She is taking a stroll around the garden, and now she’s probably already returned." Liu Kang shrugged his shoulders and sat down casually.

"Alright. Let’s catch up with what we have now. Liu Kang, since you just arrived, then please adjust accordingly." Yuusha Mashiro tapped the table and began the discussion. He mainly discussed today’s tournament and also about the Elysion Church’s representatives.

Meanwhile, Jophiel walked through the corridor with an unsettled and restless heart. She managed to discover the fake hero’s identity, but her identity as a demoness was exposed.

She tried to respond to his failed mind control with an offensive move, but she got overpowered. What he said also disturbed her because it might be detrimental to her master’s plan.

"You’ve nowhere to run." Jophiel bound the fake hero with a silk artifact.

Sadly, the fake hero tore the silk like it was nothing. He vanished into a shadow and smirked. "So, you’re a demon, my kindred. It was really surprising to find my kind in the church’s circle."

"Do you think I’ll let you escape after what you’ve done?" Jophiel used her charm magic to subdue her opponent. Yet, the fake hero remained in the shadow, unaffected by her charm magic.

"You should behave and cooperate with me. Unless you wish to be hunted down by all hidden experts in the capital. I don’t care what your goal is, but you have no choice but to cooperate with me, my beautiful little demoness. Give me your answer this afternoon, or you won’t know what will happen to you afterward, ha ha ha!" The fake hero laughed and vanished into the surrounding shadows.

Recalling the scene, Jophiel bit her lower lips, feeling annoyed and frustrated.

"Jophi-chan~" Miko raised her hand and walked over with a charming smile.

"What is he really planning? Uhm, why did I suddenly hear mama’s voice?" Jophiel looked left and right in wonder.

She looked back and her master was really there, waving at her. She knew it was no trick or enemy illusion, but really her master as their bond spoke the truth.

"Master Mama, you’re here~" Jophiel ran over, throwing away all the problems that were bothering her mind.

"Mm, are you okay?" Miko rubbed Jophiel’s cheek with a worried gaze. Yet, her expression soon changed to a stern, worried mother. "Did you forget that we forbid anyone from going anywhere alone? Look, you were bullied and almost became a slave to a lower demon."

"A-ah~ yesh! I mean, it’s just taking a look. Uhm, no excuse. Jophi deserves to be punished..." Jophiel got spanked once. Her master dragged her away, but she didn’t resist at all because she noticed her master was really worried.

Once they arrived at the Elysion Church’s gathering place, Jophiel had to sit in a seiza position with some concrete bricks on her thighs.

"Hic..." Jophiel couldn’t feel her legs and her lower half was completely numb.

"..." The nine disciples had nothing to say. It was Jophiel’s fault, and fortunately, nothing had gone wrong. It would be really disaster if Jophiel was successfully controlled by the enemy.

"The fake hero’s matter requires more attention. I feel, he received more than three power awakenings. The Great Demon King he contracted is Demon King of Pride, the 2nd strongest Great Demon King of Hell. Let me know your opinion." Miko tapped the table, looking at everyone.
