Chapter 589: Elysion Church’s History
Chapter 589: Elysion Church’s History
Morfina and Yae shared the story of their initial journey in more detail. Broadly speaking, they initially traveled with Ella. Still, since Ella built a new religion and managed to recruit many believers, they had to do something to back up this newly formed faction.
They played their role as a mysterious merchant from the Terra World. However, it was like they walked on a piece of thin ice that could crumble at any time as they were constantly at the risk of being swallowed by the bigger force once their weakness was known.
Initially, the El-Fai Merchant Fleet was formed to act as financial support for the Elysion Church. However, the Elysion Church’s development was too quick. Finally, the Elysion Chuch could back itself up after Ella converted several big churches and temples to the Elysion religion.
"Then, how did you recruit many elves and fairies as your personnel? Is it similar to what Luna did?" Elysia looked at the fox mommy next to her.
"Hm-mm~" Luna felt proud when Elysia mentioned it. It was known to Elysium members that she literally ’bought’ the Blue Soul Fox Fleet, including her personnel’s loyalty. Profit and benefits came with a huge impact, and those subordinates were even willing to sacrifice their lives for her sake because she played her cards right.
She was far stronger than them, and it was natural for the weaker ones to follow the powerful. Still, she selected her subordinates carefully as she only recruited those she deemed worthy to follow her as her subordinates.
"After securing our initial capital, we began to gather personnel gradually. Initially, we purchased every worthy slave in existence that entered the market with elves and fairies in priority. Once we grew more powerful as a faction, we began to take those who belonged to other masters and save the others from monster dens like goblins and other demons. We gathered them together as one merchant fleet and used them to conquer the world. Mwahaha!" Yae laughed like a villain.
But she then cleared her throat and added with a solemn expression. "As the El-Fai Merchant Fleet may look like a faction consisting of former slaves, there is a deeper meaning behind the slavery in the Caelum World, master."
"And what is that?" Elysia felt a little surprised, but she took it for granted because Morfina and Yae had their own reason.
"It’s about the mysterious organization called the Silver Heretic. They’re adept in framing anyone they disliked into slavery." Morfina clasped her hands and bowed slightly.
"..." Ella and Yae soon fell silent as they gave Morfina time to explain about the mentioned heretic organization.
Unlike the Terra World or the Chthonic World, the Caelum World’s laws would never tolerate anyone raiding any settlements or forcing anyone into slavery. In that world, once someone broke the forbidden laws, they would lose their rights as a person and they would fall into slavery for life.
The punishment could never be avoided even for a Deity. Once they broke the rules, they would fall with no doubt as a slave. The sky punishment was feared by almost everyone, and it was how that world operated.
Even the child of a slave would remain as a slave, and this condition became one of the factors how the Elysion Church and the El-Fai Merchant Fleet could rise in power so quickly. They had a way to remove the slave seal, but to put everyone under control, only the faithful followers worthy of redemption would be released from the slave seal under the Supreme Goddess’ blessing.
As for the Silver Heretic, this mysterious organization was so fond of framing prominent figures they disliked, ensuring their targets fell into slavery with no rights as a person. The true reason why they did it remains unknown to this date. Even the Elysion Church who opposed the Silver Heretic so actively was still unable to gain any useful information regarding those heretics.
"Those were difficult days. You truly did your best. We will remember your feats." Elysia was amazed by Morfina, Yae, and Ella’s achievements. Ariel also received the credit as Ella’s bodyguard. Sadly, Ariel wasn’t here at the moment.
Ella was still a girl in the early twenties backed up by only 6th Rank power, but Ella managed to gather the followers left and right, forming a major faction in the Caelum World in just five years.
"It’s both my duty and honor, master." Ella was flattered and felt very proud to be praised and recognized by her Goddess.
"Isn’t that world a bit twisted? The world laws strip our rights as a person and brand us as slaves just because we can break the rule? Forbidden rules, the tabbos, huh..." Luna tapped her chin.
With that kind of world law, she could become like the Silver Heretic to frame people as she pleased. Unfortunately, she didn’t go to that world, or she might already do it.
"They used the profit obtained from selling the slaves to cover the loss, pay the hunters, and enrich themselves, eh? Alright... then let’s talk about the forbidden laws, shall we?" Luna cleared her throat, afraid that her previous intention was known to her master.
"Hmm, there are quite a lot of forbidden rules." Morfina took out a paper and wrote down a list.
"Failing to pay the debt under the sacred oath, summoning a spirit of Netherworld, forming a contract with a demon of Hell, conducting an inhumane experiment on the living person..." Elysia read the list one by one as Morfina wrote it down.
They were conditions that would cause someone to lose one’s right as a person and fall into a slavery. The newly branded slaves would receive a slave seal, and they would be captured by the hunters and sold in the Slave Market.
"Mm, thank you for letting us know. We shall visit that world soon to dig deeper into this matter. If you wish to take part, feel free to join the fun. We will work together with Holy Saintess Bhaenera." Elysia concluded the information gathering. She rolled the list and read it once more.
"Understood. I will inform Saintess Bhae about this personally." Ella nodded in understanding. Her Goddess already said it, and she obviously would follow to join the fun.
"How about you?" Luna faintly smiled. Anyone was free to join, but it was still her exclusive day, her personal time with Elysia.
Morfina and Yae looked at each other and nodded.
"We’ll go with Ella."
"Please let us know your further arrangements, master."
"Alright. Wait for us at the Elysion Church’s headquarters in the Caelum World. We’ll inform you about our plan soon. Hmm, you should go via the world teleportation array. Let ’them’ know about your arrival." Elysia waved her hands and bid farewell to everyone by leaving a chat on the Elysium Channel.
"Understood." Ella, Morfina, and Yae replied in unison.
Elysia nodded and then grabbed Luna and Yusagi’s hands before warping to the Caelum World with a poof.
"We should go now." Ella reminded Morfina and Yae. They went to the Elysion Church’s headquarters in the Terra World and used the teleportation array to visit the Caelum World, following their master’s arrangement.
---
Although people called the Caelum World a piece of Heaven, it wasn’t actually a beautiful world filled with divine paradise. The ugliness of the world also existed there.
The demon, demi-human, and beast races were minorities, and humanity reigned supreme in this world. Unlike the other major forces, the Elysion Church held no prejudice against differences in race, tribe, ethnicity, or background. As long as they were the Supreme Goddess’ faithful followers, everyone would be the people worthy of glory and honor.
The Elysion Church was formed five years ago and consisted of various small factions that eventually united into a hegemonic force that was feared even by the other major factions, but it was actually far weaker than what the outside world perceived.
It was only known to the higher-ups. For such a major faction, the Elysion Church was backed up only by two Deities, Holy Knight Myra and a crippled sage, and six Demi-Gods, including Saint Daemyx and Saintess Bhaenera. They served as the Elysion Church’s ultimate force with unwavering faith as they were in line with the Elysion religion that the Divine Prophet brought. As for the rest, it was still a shaky foundation for the class of a major force.
In the past five years, Ella as the high priestess spread her religion to everyone under the name of the Supreme Goddess’ blessing to gain more followers and also prevent others from touching the Elysion Church. Her holy magic and divine weapon truly made everything very convincing. At that time, the risk that Ella took was incredibly great because the Goddess they served was still sealed.
However, things would be completely different now. Their Supreme Goddess already returned. Although the other major forces would unite to raid the Elysion Church by bringing their ancient ancestors, the Elysion Church would be the final victor.
"I did it..." Ella clenched her fist, putting it closer to her chest. She was filled with joy, pride, and enthusiasm.
She was rejected by the Goddess she previously served. Goddess Nell, the Goddess of Blessings, ignored her faith and simply asked her to serve Goddess Elysia instead, but Goddess Nell already joined Elysium Pantheon, tamed by the Goddess she served.
Regardless, the Goddess she wholeheartedly served truly knew her value and appreciated it. She felt useful, happy, and loved by the divine one she put her faith and everything into.
"Welcome back, High Priestess Ella. I’ve received your notice, but the current situation is unfavorable for us." Bhae, the Holy Saintess, greeted Ella right outside the crossing world teleportation array.
"Mm, who is trying to oppose us this time?" Ella put on an aloof expression, deserving her title as the Divine Prophet and High Priestess.
"It’s the Silver Heretic. They carried out a huge despicable scheme two days ago. The Wind Tower and Earth Tower already fell, and all of the magic experts in those towers got captured as slaves." Bhae felt embarrassed because it happened under her watchful eyes, but the enemy was just too cunning and hard to deal with.
"You’ve done your best, Saintess Bhae. Our Goddess has arrived in this world, and those heretics’ days are numbered. This wretched false righteousness law will soon encounter the absolute truth and divine justice." Ella patted Bhae’s shoulder.
"!!!" Bhae widened her eyes in shock. She was feeling embarrassed because of that incident, but the matters were clearly more complicated than she expected. Their Supreme Goddess went to take action directly!
