As long as she’s honest and of good character, we’re satisfied. Our family has never tolerated divorces. So, I specially sent you to investigate whether this girl can be relied upon or not.”

“I understand, Dad. I’m leaving now.”

Liang Zhoutian gently nodded, as Liang Yuan quietly exited the room.

After meeting with his parents, Liang Chen formally began preparations for their wedding.

Of course, Liang Chen also called the production crew, halting her current role in “Mothers’ World.” She offered a compensation sum for her termination and personally arranged for another famous actress from TS Entertainment Company to play the role of Jing Haohao, offering her services free of charge as compensation.

As Jing Haohao was pregnant, Nanny Lin and other servants remained in a state of high alert daily, attending to Jing Haohao’s needs with extreme care and precision.

True to Liang Chen’s words, Jing Haohao needed not lift a finger toward the wedding preparations. At most, she could review and select a few styles she liked.

Liang Chen’s mother visited the villa where Liang Chen and Jing Haohao lived every other day, accompanying Jing Haohao for walks, or bringing some wedding items for her to choose from.

Liang Chen instructed Secretary Su to buy some pregnancy-related books from the bookstore. Titles like “Essential Handbook for Expectant Mothers”, “Pregnancy Encyclopedia”, and “Parenting Encyclopedia” became must-reads for both him and Jing Haohao.

Both Liang Chen and Jing Haohao were first-time parents. Despite having several experienced people in the Liang Family Old Mansion advising them, they made sure to jot down important notes from their readings in detail.

Certainly, those notes contained varied information, resulting in occasional disagreements. When this happened, Jing Haohao and Liang Chen would discuss and ultimately discard the confusing advice.

Liang Chen was not an entertainment industry insider. Whilst the wedding arrangements were grand, it was meant as a testament to their relationship for friends and family.

As an individual firmly established in the entertainment circle, Jing Haohao had no intention of using their wedding for publicity. Thus, while Jing Haohao and Liang Chen’s wedding seemed low-key, it was in fact, very extravagant.

Shen Liangnian came to know of Liang Chen and Jing Haohao’s wedding news from Cong Rong.

One day, while Shen Liangnian and Cong Rong were drinking at Golden Era, Cong Rong shared the news. She wasn’t sure how Shen Liangnian would react and seemed somewhat embarrassed after the news slipped out of her mouth.

The moment Shen Liangnian heard the news, his fingers trembled slightly. He then calmly lifted his wine glass, took a slow sip, and responded in a tone that felt strange to his own ears, “Is that so?”

“Yeah,” replied Cong Rong, with her head lowered and silence followed.

After a while, Shen Liangnian asked, “When will it be?”

“On the twenty-first of May, about a week away.”

“That’s soon.”

“Yes, I heard she’s pregnant so they’re having a shotgun wedding.”

Shen Liangnian simply nodded, remained silent, and his demeanor didn’t change significantly.

Except, he started to drink one glass of wine after another.
