Chapter 284 - 284 283 You Two Are Too Cunning
?Chapter 284: Chapter 283 You Two Are Too Cunning Chapter 284: Chapter 283 You Two Are Too Cunning Both teams heard the broadcast and had been curious why the Huaxia Team was able to send out messages over it.
After all, the military at the base now controlled the broadcasts, and sending out a message couldn’t be easy.
Seeing them preparing to leave with military personnel, they had a guess.
It seemed the Huaxia Team had made contact with the military base.
“Captain Bu, wait a moment!”
“Captain Bu, can we talk for a minute?”
The captains of the two teams signaled to Bo Xuan who was in the jeep, one after the other.
Bo Xuan saw them.
Then, he greeted Liao You, got out of the car with others.
Since Luo Ning was the key person for this trip to the arsenal, Liao You and the rest didn’t say anything and instead drove the car to the entrance of the base to wait for them.
The three groups greeted each other on the surface, seemingly friendly.
One of the captains, smiling, probed, “Where are you heading? Those are people from the military base, right?”
Bo Xuan smiled and said, “We’re following the base’s people to do a mission.”
“And you guys? Heading into the base?”
When he didn’t explicitly say what mission they were going to do, the people from the two teams didn’t keep pressing, as they weren’t particularly close to each other anyway.
The captain who had spoken earlier thought of the message in the broadcast.
He leaned in and whispered to Bo Xuan, “Did you find both clues?”
Bo Xuan nodded with a smile, “Yeah, we found them both.”
He then asked, “How about you? Since you’ve made it to the base, you must have found them all, right?”
The captain shook his head, “No, we’ve just found the first clue.”
He asked again, “Have you already found Professor Luo’s lab?”
Bo Xuan replied assuredly, “We have. Otherwise, how could we have gotten the second clue?”
The enquiring captain’s eyes spun, and he asked with a laugh, “Buddy, could you reveal where Professor Luo’s lab is exactly, and how one can get the clue?”
They already had some idea but couldn’t pinpoint the exact location,
which is why they thought of coming to the base to gather information.
Bo Xuan gave him a knowing smile and chuckled, “We are competitors after all, so it’s not convenient to disclose that.”
Seeing the other party’s face change, he quickly switched his tone and continued, “However, we are willing to sell you information about the lab’s location and how to find the clues.”
“Or you can buy the clues directly from us.”
Both teams were stunned, clearly not expecting Bo Xuan to propose that.
“What do you want? Resources?” both captains asked instinctively.
They obviously didn’t want to waste any more time.
They were, in fact, half-believing Bo Xuan’s words. In the global team strength rankings, they were fourth and fifth, higher than the Huaxia Team.
If they hadn’t found the exact location yet and Huaxia Team had, it was a bit hard to believe.
Bo Xuan told them truthfully, “You’ve already obtained the first clue, so you know that our final score will consist of three values, right?”
The captains nodded, “Yes, what does that have to do with it?”
“Of course, there’s a connection. You can use your total scores to buy the information from us.”
Bo Xuan paused and said, “One point can buy information about the clue in the lab, two points to buy the clue itself.”
Both teams: “…” Can it really be done like this? It was quite an eye-opener.
They asked, “How do we buy from you with our total scores?”
Hearing that the price wasn’t high, just one or two points, they were tempted.
Bo Xuan knew right away they wanted to buy.
So he said with a smile, “As long as you agree, just send a short message from the captain’s watch phone to the same number that gave us the clue location, and that’s it.”
“Is that feasible?” doubted the two captains.
Bo Xuan just chuckled: “Whether it’s feasible or not is our concern, it’s up to you to buy or not.”
After a brief consultation, both teams pulled their respective members aside to discuss.
Very soon, after concluding their discussion, one team came over and said, “We’ll spend one point on information about the clue in the lab.”
They didn’t completely trust what Bo Xuan said, preferring to look for the clues themselves—what if they were cheated when buying ready-made clues?
Bo Xuan didn’t persuade them to buy the second option; this was within his expectations.
He took out a pre-written note, “Send the message to the system to transfer one point of your total score to the Huaxia Team, and then I’ll give you the information.”
The captain wasn’t afraid of Bo Xuan playing tricks; if he dared to dupe them, they would knock Huaxia Team out first.
He did as Bo Xuan instructed, “See, it’s done.”
He felt this way of doing business was incredibly unreliable.
Sending a text message to the system—who knew if it could receive messages? Would the organizers even acknowledge it?
He thought it was absurd.
But if the transfer of total score didn’t happen in the end, it wouldn’t be their problem—it was what Bo Xuan had requested, and they would actually prefer that.
Bo Xuan could see what he was thinking but certainly wouldn’t tell him that Luo Ning had already confirmed with the system via message.
Such a secret was best kept within their own team.
He handed the note to the other captain, “Here’s the exact location and coordinates, and the method to find the clue in the lab.”
“Oh, here’s a bit of friendly advice, Dr. Luo’s lab has smart locks, you’ll need to unlock them if you want to get in.”
The captain took the note and looked it over; if the information was true, then it was worth the point.
“Alright, thanks.” He pocketed the note.
Then, after a bit more casual conversation, they turned and left the base.
Now that they knew the exact location, there was no need to waste time entering the base for more information.
After they left, the other small team made the same decision.
When they were all gone, Fan Ye said with a smile, “Captain, you’re really ruthless, their point is going down the drain.”
The box with the clues was deep inside the lab; they couldn’t even open the outermost door, let alone find anything.
Unless one of them excels at cracking smart locks, they could only look on once at the lab.
Bo Xuan chuckled, “This was discussed with Brother Ning; if we were to say we’d sell the clues directly, they’d never believe us.”
“Better to earn extra from them.”
After those guys had made enough fuss and come back for the clues, they’d still have to spend two points.
Fan Ye and the others lit a candle for the other teams in their minds, “You two are too crafty, but we like it.”
With a mutual understanding, everyone smiled and then headed out of the base’s gate, getting back into the car.
After the apocalypse, roads were cut off, zombies roamed every corner of the cities.
Going from the base to the arsenal presented many troubles—killing zombies, moving vehicles, attacks by mutant plants and animals, etc.
A journey that would have taken just over an hour before the apocalypse ended up taking a full day.
By the time they arrived at the arsenal, it was already dark.
