Chapter 305 - 305 304 How did you know
?Chapter 305: Chapter 304 How did you know? Chapter 305: Chapter 304 How did you know? Luo Ning watched Su Wei approaching without showing any surprise.
She asked, “What’s the matter?”
Su Wei took a paper package out of his pocket and quickly handed it to Luo Ning.
He pursed his lips and said, “If anything happens later, sprinkle the powder inside this package on your body and rush down the mountain with your people.”
Luo Ning turned and walked behind a large tree, “Come over here and speak.”
The tree was large enough to block the view of others.
Seeing this, Su Wei hesitated for a moment but still followed her.
Then he saw Luo Ning opening the paper package he had given her and sniffing its contents.
After smelling it, she looked at Su Wei and said, “Is this the powder from the Zombie Plant King’s fruit at the top of the mountain?”
Su Wei’s face changed, and his eyes grew darker, “How do you know?”
Seeing Luo Ning’s certain tone and demeanor, he did not argue.
Luo Ning crossed her arms and leaned against the tree, “Although this powder doesn’t have a corrosive or fishy smell, it carries a kind of deathly aura, and it is full of intense energy.”
“So only the powder from the Zombie Plant King could reach this effect.”
She added, “I’m very sensitive to the aura of death, others might not smell it, but I can.”
Su Wei looked at Luo Ning with complex eyes, “You’re really smart.”
“When did you realize something was wrong?” he asked again.
Luo Ning smiled slyly and countered, “Are you asking about when I noticed something off about you and Dr. Luo?”
“Or when I discovered that from the moment you started climbing the mountain, you used the sound wave oscillations from the equipment to affect the surrounding mutant plants?”
“The roads around were blocked, wasn’t that your doing?”
Su Wei’s face changed again, “You realized that so early?”
“Yes!” Luo Ning nodded, then looked at him, “I just didn’t expect that you would want to let me and my team off.”
Regarding this question, Su Wei was quite straightforward, “After all, you once saved my life, and we got along pretty well, so I didn’t want to watch you die.”
Luo Ning raised an eyebrow, “So you want to watch the others die?”
Su Wei pursed his lips again and remained silent, not answering the question.
She said solemnly, “It’s still not too late to stop this.”
Su Wei looked pained and took a deep breath with his head lowered, “It’s too late.”
“What do you mean? Your brother created the Zombie Virus and caused the apocalypse, it’s too late to stop that.”
Luo Ning paused before saying, “Or is it that he cultivated that Zombie Plant King and plans to lure everyone here to provide flesh and blood, and it’s too late to stop that?”
Su Wei suddenly looked up at Luo Ning, “What else do you know?”
Luo Ning snapped her fingers, “Seeing your reaction, it seems my guesses and judgments are all correct.”
Su Wei asked puzzledly, “How did you know that the Zombie Virus was researched by my brother?”
Luo Ning laid out her reasoning.
“First of all, him being the head of the laboratory and yet unable to unlock the smart lock doesn’t make any sense.”
“There’s only one possibility, someone didn’t want him to leave, so they locked him up.”
“Afterwards, I met you and learned that you are Dr. Luo’s younger brother and also the largest shareholder of the laboratory, so I guessed that it was you who purposely locked people in the laboratory.”
“You modified the smart lock’s software to revoke Dr. Luo’s access.”
“At that time, you must have discovered that Dr. Luo had developed and released the Zombie Virus, so you were afraid that he would do something outrageously insane again and locked him in the laboratory.”
“You also disrupted and damaged the laboratory’s surveillance, making it impossible for outsiders to see what was happening inside.”
“The focus was on making sure nobody could see Dr. Luo’s unusual behavior.”
Luo Ning continued, “That day when we went to the laboratory to rescue people, Dr. Luo had a high fever and looked like he would be in critical condition if we were even slightly later.”
“However, I smelled a unique medicinal herb on him, and I knew that just chewing and swallowing this herb could cause a sudden onset of high fever.”
“But it wasn’t a real fever. It could be treated and reduced in a hospital. If not treated, the fever would gradually subside after the effect of the medicine wore off, posing no real threat to life.”
“It was because of this I felt something was off about him.”
“Thinking why he would take such a herb to feign a fever, I could only think of one possibility.”
“To create an illusion that he would die if no one saved him, preventing anyone from suspecting that the Zombie Virus was connected to him.”
“Then that day, I saw a notebook on the table in his resting room.”
“I accidentally saw some formulas written inside. Although I didn’t know what they were for, I recognized that two of them were related to the virus.”
“At that moment, a seed of suspicion was planted in my mind.”
“Back at the base, whenever we went out on missions, we often encountered you.”
“I could smell a scent of death on you, which I knew wasn’t yours but was from the Zombie Plant powder you had sprinkled on yourself.”
“Therefore, even though you were physically weak, you would always return from missions unharmed and alive.”
Luo Ning paused before adding, “Later, I accidentally encountered Dr. Luo twice, and he also had that smell on him, but much stronger.”
“Once, I even found a small amount of gray powder under his fingernails, so I deduced that he was the one who ground it.”
“How could a person who is always in the laboratory come into contact with Zombie Plants?”
“I could only guess one possibility: he was cultivating them himself.”
“The last time we went to the laboratory to rescue people, I noticed that the zombies unconsciously avoided Dr. Luo.”
“That was very suspicious.”
“Moreover, if the Zombie Virus could bring about the apocalypse, how could it possibly be decoded in just over half a month?”
“There’s only one possibility: that he created it and knew very well its formula and components.”
Luo Ning finally said, “Moreover, considering today how he purposely created a ruse about searching for a cure in the plants, deceiving many people here to feed the Zombie Plant King, all these mysteries were instantly solved.”
“The Zombie Plant King at the top of the mountain; he was cultivating it.”
“I guessed initially he was just researching viruses to feed the plants, hoping to make them mutate. Little did he know it would gradually become a virus capable of turning living beings into walking corpses.”
“He himself must have harbored a destructive personality, harboring a grudge against society and humanity, so he released the virus in the city, successfully creating numerous zombies and bringing about the apocalypse.”
Su Wei suddenly laughed, raising his hand to gently clap, “Impressive, you got everything right!”
He sincerely praised, “Your observational skills and deductive reasoning are exceptional.”
“Who else could discover so much from those details and then gradually piece together and deduce the truth?”
Luo Ning shrugged, “Thanks for the compliment.”
He then laughed self-deprecatingly, “I always thought you suspected me.”
