?Chapter 158: Chapter 153: She is My Daughter-in-Law Chapter 158: Chapter 153: She is My Daughter-in-Law Zheng Yibai found Wei Sisan, asking his disciples to help hold off the men in black.
Suddenly, a surge of killing shouts rang out, leading Wei Sisan to mistakenly think that Xiao Bai’s men had arrived. He asked, “Have Xiao Bai’s people arrived?”
“No, they aren’t here yet. Someone has helped us open a gap on that side, we should leave quickly,” Zheng Yibai replied.
“A helper, how many are there?”
“Only one!”
“What? Only one person?” He found it hard to believe that all this was real.
“Yes, only one person, but his martial arts skills are excellent.” Zheng Yibai knew now was not the time for explanation. They needed to leave quickly. He said, “Sect Leader, we must leave fast. The enemies can close in on us any moment, it will be even harder to break through then.”
“You lead the others away.” The men in black were rushing towards them again.
“Sect Leader, you must consider the bigger picture. Your safety is of the utmost importance. The New City Sect has just been established. It would be a disaster if anything were to happen to you. If you were to fall, the New City Sect will be in chaos. Everything we have built in the last four years would be destroyed. Ling’er is still waiting for you,” Zheng Yibai said, knowing he couldn’t be cautious enough.
Wei Sisan gave him a glance. The morning had brightened significantly, and the fog was still thick, with men in black visible as far as the eye could see.
“Not worth our time, we must leave immediately.” They were evidently no match for the men in black. It would be a pity not to seize this rare opportunity to break free from the encirclement. Calling out to his disciples, Zheng Yibai ordered, “You all stay behind and cover our retreat.”
Zheng Yibai began leading Wei Sisan towards the right side.
Zheng Yibai’s disciples, unafraid of death, soon led a group to contend with the most fierce attackers.
Gua Zhengnie heard the Dragon’s Roar and didn’t know what was happening on the right side. He asked his disciples, “Have Xiao Bai’s people arrived?”
“No, but a martial artist with great abilities has appeared and opened a gap. Gui Lang is hurriedly trying to close this gap,” one of his disciples replied.
Gua Zhengnie looked around, realizing that Wei Sisan had slipped away leaving only a few lower-ranking followers. He said, “Jue Ming, it’s not good. Wei Sisan is trying to escape from the right. You stay here to deal with these people, I’ll go help Gui Lang.” He then led a large group towards the right side.
Ye Chen saw Zheng Yibai leading Wei Sisan towards him and took up the task of distracting the enemies.
Even from a distance, Wei Sisan was desirably drawn by the impressively profound martial arts skill of the young man. At the same time, he was worried that his disciples couldn’t break free from the men in black. However, Zheng Yibai knew it was impossible to lead everyone safely away. To be able to break out with most of their forces while sacrificing only a few was an incredible achievement.
Zheng Yibai continued, “Sect Leader, they’re targeting you, you need to go.”
Zheng Yibai passed by Ye Chen, then said, “Young man, thank you.”
Ye Chen wondered how he was identified as a young man.
Zheng Yibai didn’t have time to ponder over this. Under the heavy protection of his disciples, he led Wei Sisan to the right and out of the encirclement.
Gua Zhengnie, like a hungry wolf, led a group of death-desiring men in black towards them.
Zheng Yibai saw this and, knowing the young man’s martial arts skill was incredibly high, said, “Young man, give us a hand.” He glanced to the other side, signaling his intentions to Ye Chen.
Once again, Zheng Yibai assigned around a dozen of his men to help Ye Chen, leading the rest towards the other side. He assured the Sect Leader, “You leave first, we will soon follow.”
Wei Sisan had finally calmed down. With the help of Jiang Hu’s disciples, he quickly escaped.
The group that had charged them was incredibly fast and soon caught up.
Suddenly, Ye Chen launched himself into the air, unleashing a wave-like palm strike which morphed into multiple dragons, striking against Gua Zhengnie, who responded with enormous energy in an effort to devour Ye Chen’s power. However, Ye Chen’s energy wasn’t something average people could handle.
Boom, boom,, their respective waves of energy collided, knocking Gua Zhengnie backward. He was surprised and wondered how there could be such a formidable fighter in this wasteland that he knew nothing about. He shouted, “Who the hell are you?”
“Why are you all the same? You hide your faces but still ask others who they are. I want to ask the same of you. Will you tell me?” Ye Chen retorted.
Listening to his voice, Gua Zhengnie deduced that Ye Chen was fairly young.
“So you are purposely messing up our plans, huh?” Gua Zhengnie shouted angrily.
“I was just helping those in need,” Ye Chen replied.
“Then let me show you today why it’s best to mind your own business,” Gua Zhengnie threatened.
“Unfortunately, I was born a meddler,” Ye Chen retorted.
Boom, a myriad of swords were flying like a fountain, pressing down towards Ye Chen. He could already feel a strong gust of wind even before the powerful energy reached him.
Ye Chen first took a glance and felt the power of this energy. It was so strong that it threatened to contort his face.
This enormous energy and tens of thousands of sword shadows amalgamated into one, charging straight towards Ye Chen.
“Young man, be careful,” Zheng Yibai cautioned anxiously.
Ye Chen turned back, extended his palm, and unleashed a light wave. It acted like a shield, blocking his front. Innumerable sword shadows were approaching like tidal waves, but they were blocked by Ye Chen’s hemispherical light wave.
Boom, the energy kept releasing, slashing numerous scratches on the light wave.
However, Ye Chen remained extraordinarily calm, which surprised Gua Zhengnie. He wondered who this guy could be and how he could have such profound energy.
Suddenly, Ye Chen released a light wave that absorbed all the pressing energy back into his palm.
How is this possible? How can he absorb the energy he emitted? How strong must his internal power be? Before Gua Zhengnie could figure things out, Ye Chen had already condensed all of the emitted golden light into his hand. Turning around in an instant, he performed the Dodging Technique. In a blink of an eye, he had struck Gua Zhengnie and the black-clothed men, forcing Gua Zhengnie to step back repeatedly while the group of black-clothed men scattered. Some were not able to dodge and were flung out with a shock.
At this time, Jue Ming led a group of men charging over. Facing more and more black-clothed men, Zheng Yibai was worried that he couldn’t resist and shouted: “Let’s go, leave here quickly.” He led the New City Sect’s disciples towards the right.
Red Demonic Spirit said: “Be careful, if everyone else runs away, they will abandon you. They will leave you alone to play here. At that time, play however you want.”
Ye Chen glanced back.
Zheng Yibai on the other side shouted: “Young man, hurry, let’s go.”
Faced with the menacing black-clothed men who were like swarms of leeches, it was nearly impossible to drive them away. Ye Chen projected even greater energy, instantly releasing it with a deafening boom. The black-clothed men scattered in all directions as if they had grown wings.
Zheng Yibai hurriedly let off smoke. Ye Chen seized the chance, issuing four or five Green Dragons amidst the thick smoke while following the fleeing group to a greater distance.
Swiftly following those people, they quickly escaped from the valley.
Wei Sisan looked back. Zheng Yibai and Ye Chen were leading a group of people charging out from inside. Yet, many people were still trapped in the smoke, finding it difficult to escape.
As Zheng Yibai ran over, he said: “Sect Leader, don’t worry. If those disciples manage to escape, they’ll find a place to hide.”
There was no question of going back now. Having barely escaped, if they returned, they would never get out again. Considering the number of black-clothed men, it was pretty good that these people had managed to escape.
Zheng Yibai turned back and said: “Young man, thank you.”
“No need.” Ye Chen beckoned his hand.
The Red Demonic Spirit said: “Tell Wei Sisan quickly, insist on having his daughter promised to marry you.”
“Don’t start trouble here,” Ye Chen murmured.
“I am really grateful to you. Which sect do you belong to?” Zheng Yibai curiously asked.
Ye Chen shook his head, saying: “I’m not from any sect.”
Zheng Yibai was even more astonished, saying: “I thought you were from the Sky Domain Sect, because I’ve seen the martial arts of all other sects except for theirs.”
“No, I’m not from the Sky Domain Sect.”
Zheng Yibai dispatched some gigantic mutant beasts to intercept those emerging from the smoke. He hoped the beasts could help get rid of the black-clothed men lingering behind.
Ye Chen asked perplexedly: “Where shall we go now?”
“Tianle City.” It is the nearest from here. Tianle City belongs to their New City Sect. If they could reach Tianle City, they would be safe once inside. Even if these black-clothed men pursued them, they would get adequate protection in Tianle City, and it would not be easily captured by the black-clothed men.
“Young man, you’ve got good martial arts skills. Please help us to the end and come with us to Tianle City.”
Ye Chen nodded upon hearing this.
Wei Sisan looked at Ye Chen, who was veiled in a kerchief with an embalmed plum blossom. That was the sign of Feng Niang. He asked: “Young man, what’s your relationship with Feng Niang?”
Red Demonic Spirit had heard the conversation between Ye Chen and Feng Niang the previous night and knew what relationship Feng Niang had with Wei Sisan. Before Ye Chen could respond, Red Demonic Spirit interjected: “She is my wife.”
“Feng Niang is your wife?” Wei Sisan looked incredulous.
