With the Coupling Rites now over, both Dani and Abel promptly went through the relatively quaint reception and feast along with their friends. On his part, Abel was ecstatic to finally have marked his wife after all this time. She still wasn't completely surrendering herself to him though, but that could come later. 

Currently, they were both in their shared room with Dani casually sitting on the bed and him sitting beside her. The air between them was charged. With what, exactly? He didn't know. But for now, he could at least chip away at her defenses again, something that was both fun and frustrating to do with how much she affected him.

"Well then. I guess we're married again," Dani shrugged before she lazily plopped herself down onto the mattress. "I almost thought this day would never end, but at least we can get some proper rest now."

"I'm sure you must be tired by now," he chuckled as he simply gave her a soft smile. "You just got marked, and you're still human, after all."

"My mortal body cannot handle everything all at once, huh," she joked aloud with a deadpan expression. "Maybe in the far future, I'll forsake my humanity so that I can live forever and all that."
