Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1205: The calm at home

Chapter 1205: The calm at home

[OP: ]

The announcement was made throughout the academy and the students were informed of the duel guidance that would be happening in a few days.

They were also informed to prepare and the house captains were instructed to gather in their joint house discussion room after the classes today.

The students were going to be in an advantageous position if they played their cards right. Winning would also mean a reward to the entire student body so the students were all excited.

"Don't act all happy just because of the rules." When they went to their homeroom classes for the day, however, their teachers warned them all.

The competition was not going to be as easy as it sounded.

These were guidance duels. The teachers were also given privileges that they could exploit far better than the students.

Just like the students, the teachers were also going to gather and have their own meeting about the competition. And since all the teachers were experts of their own fields, there was going to be an obvious level difference between them and the students.

They were the teachers of the great academy for a reason and if they were going to teach the students, even with their handicap, the outcome might not be as simple as the students anticipated.

Even the student council presidents, their very own classmates, warned them to not take this situation lightly.

The teachers weren't going to be easy to beat even though the system was so simple. To get the required points, they would have to impress the judges with their knowledge and skills.

The better they play the game the easier it would be for them to win against the teachers and the more difficult it would be for the teachers to 'teach' their students.

The points were going to be given to both sides under the same rules.

As long as the judges felt like it, the teachers would be the ones getting more points there.

Still, the teachers would learn from these matches as well. Since the matches were going to be against the whole student body of the thousands of students against the hundreds of teachers, the distribution wasn't equal.

It was also up to the students and the teachers how they dealt with this discrepancy.

The time was limited to that particular day so if they wanted to win, the teachers and students both would have to make sure their sides were not being toyed with by the teachers.

Thankfully though, they had the support of their new presidents as well as all of the house captains and vice captain.

They weren't going to back down in this game. They knew the scores of these guidance sessions were going to affect their house rankings as well, but for the time being, they put it aside.

If they fight amongst themselves here, only their side is going to face the consequences.

So, in the meeting of the house captains, their new presidents, in the presence of their previous presidents, discussed how they were going to do this.

Their presidents would leave the school for good by the time this event comes to an end as well so the two of them did not have much time left in the academy.

Their time here had been wonderful. Especially with their juniors, they expressed their gratitude to the house captains as well as all the students, even making a forum post with how grateful they were for all the wonderful experiences they got.

"Looks like the two of them are going to have a good time for the time being." Away from the island in the capital of Roxanna, Nolan was reading the letter she just received through the mail.

Eon had written to her, telling her about all the things that were going on, about their presidents and how they were planning a party for them, as well as all the things regarding their competition.

The event sounded fun to her, so she smiled while cleaning the dark circles under her eyes with a special lotion.

She had been busy for a while now. And the chat that she had with Eon and Elle the other day showed her how even they were juggling so many things.

She wanted to finish working on regional matters so that she could focus on the happenings around the world. She had a plan in mind, tactics that she was going to follow to get rid of all the nurses that had appeared around her properties.

They were biting into something they wouldn't even be able to chew. They might have bitten their way into her house, but she wasn't a good host when it came to her business.

She was not called the Golden Demoness for nothing. Her ruthlessness was known throughout the land, so even as she sat with the orders to take down her enemies, even though many innocent people would get dragged into this war, even with all the negative views that they might face, she was going to follow through with this plan.

"Mommy~. Are you still working~?" This wasn't just about her or her businesses either.

They weren't attacking her directly. She could see the strange pattern that ultimately pointed at her family and her people, something that those demonic cultists were famous for.

If they got to her people she wasn't going to leave them be even if she had to spill blood. She wouldn't dirty her own hands, of course, but she still wouldn't spare those who were trying to harm her precious people.

"No, Anna dear. Come in~." After visiting Viscount Glory the previous day, through the medic that was trained by Eon himself, they were able to find out how the viscount was indeed poisoned by someone.

However, the fact that this wasn't a physical poison by something related to Mana made matters a little complicated.

If we say the poison usually affects the body and one's mind, this strange poison was affecting the Mana channels directly, making a mage like him weaker with each passing day.

Thankfully, they had already developed a cure for this kind of poison so the viscount was in recovery right now.

"Then we're coming in~!" She got up from her seat, the desk still covered in piles of documents.

It was nighttime already. They would soon have dinner, so this was a good time to take some rest.

Anna was here as well, so Nol greeted her at her door.

"Mommy~!" She picked up the little one, who had gotten taller and stronger recently and kissed her nose.

It wasn't intentional, however, Anna kissed her mom back as well, triggering her special ability that washed away her fatigue in an instant.

"Let's go eat, mamma~!" Behind Anna, her two aunts were staging with a helpless expression.

Today, both of them were teaching her etiquette.

As a young Lady, she needed to know not only arcane techniques and swords, but also basic manners and knowledge of proper conduct as well.

She was old enough to learn different dances as well, so she would have to start learning them soon as well.

As a proper noble, she needed more skills than common ladies her age. It was a little tough, but she had grown up seeing her older siblings go through this process.

Alf did not like interacting with strangers but he still went to social gatherings and to official events. Carla was worse since did not even like learning about etiquette and these common things.

If it weren't for her mom who forcefully shoved all the knowledge and skills she had in her, Carla would not have known how to dress up elegantly either.

Thankfully she had an amazing mom who looked after her and guided her throughout her life. And, while Nol could give her all that, she had left the smaller things to her sisters.

"Did you have fun, little one?" Today had been uneventful, apparently.

Since the Heliox estate did not have their other young masters, since all their husbands including Sir Zahavi had gone out for work, the house was pretty empty.

The ladies were the only ones left with all the other people so it was kind of lonely here. But Anna was still learning well.

She was practicing and she was training every single day. With her dad gone out for the time being, she didn't have anyone to play with either.

So, she focused her energy and attention on training and learning.

She had promised him she would be better by the time he got back, so she had to keep that promise.

However, seeing her mom working all day and night made her a little worried about her.

"Do you know, mommy? We made special desserts for everyone~!"

She wanted to help her mom but she didn't really understand anything that she did. Those things were still complicated for her, so in her free time, Anna was learning about things her mom does as well.

Money, business, finance, the economy. She was studying a little about those things as well. Her grandma was teaching her, actually.

With all these cool teachers, Anna was growing with each day as well.

Every day was tiring but at the same time fun as well.

Her sleep was better lately, and even though she woke up refreshed, every day she got to her bed, she was so tired she immediately fell asleep.

"Oh really? Then we should hurry up, right~?"

The house wasn't as lively as it usually is with all the children, but Anna made them all work with her so it all seemed pretty balanced as well.

The mothers were lonely, but they were happy as well.

These post-holiday times were, as usual, not as unbearable as they were soon going to be…
