?Chapter 201: 201, Pig-killing Knife (1)_1 Chapter 201: 201, Pig-killing Knife (1)_1 The sky gradually grew darker, with a silver moon hazily visible.

“Why is Han Yue so slow!” Quan Mingxuan, sitting in the car with one hand on the steering wheel, glanced at his wristwatch and frowned.

It had already been nearly half an hour.

In the back seat, Jian Qing squinted her eyes and leaned against Quan Jingwu, playing a game on her cell phone. She had to find something to do to kill the time.

“He’s here!” Quan Mingxuan’s head lifted as he saw the warehouse door in the distance slowly opening. The first one out was Han Yue.

“Damn, that guy is resilient.” Han Yue got into the car after opening the passenger door.

“How’d it go?” Quan Mingxuan waited for him to buckle his seatbelt before starting the car.

“Everything’s settled. We’ll leave the rest to Daniel,” replied Han Yue, leaning back in his seat and speaking with a light tone.

Baxter probably would be bound to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Even worse, he would never be able to be a real man.

Even without Han Yue having to tell him, Quan Mingxuan could guess what he had done to Baxter. Baxter had dared to propose such a gamble, and Jingwu certainly wouldn’t let him off.

“Where to next?” Han Yue asked.

“To grab a bite,” Jian Qing responded. She felt like her stomach was about to turn over.

Quan Mingxuan nodded and drove straight to the restaurant he and Han Yue usually frequented.

“Jian Qing, have you known Zero for a long time?” Han Yue turned his gaze to her through the rearview mirror as he asked on the way.

“Are you close friends?” Han Yue proceeded to ask.

“Yes,” Jian Qing admitted promptly, “we’re old friends.”

“Then do you know why Zero suddenly disappeared from the racing scene these past two years?” This question wasn’t just puzzling Han Yue; Quan Mingxuan was also quite curious.

Hearing this, Jian Qing chuckled softly and replied mysteriously, “Well, he might have been busy wielding a knife.”

“Wielding a knife?” Han Yue was taken aback.

Slaughtering pigs?

“Where do you think we are?” Jian Qing looked at his surprised expression and laughed. “What else do you think people do with knives?”

“Slaughter pigs!” Han Yue blurted out without thinking.

A slew of crows seemed to fly over their heads…

Both Quan Mingxuan and Jian Qing stared at Han Yue with disbelief, as if they were looking at an idiot.

“Han Yue, did you happen to leave your brain in the warehouse?” Quan Mingxuan mocked.

How did he manage to associate the number one racer with slaughtering pigs? What on earth goes on in his mind?

After Han Yue finished speaking, he also realized the ridiculousness of his own words. He laughed awkwardly and said, “Slip of the tongue, a slip of the tongue!”

Jian Qing couldn’t help but laugh, “Han Yue, you sure have a unique thought process. Next time I see Zero, I can try to persuade him to take up slaughtering pigs.”

Han Yue silently winced at her mockery and quickly changed the subject, “So, what do you mean by saying he was busy with a knife?”

Jian Qing smirked mysteriously, “As Buddha says, some secrets are meant to be kept. Ask him yourself next time.”

There are many types of knives, for example, a surgeon’s scalpel. It’s a type of knife too, isn’t it?

In response to her silence, Han Yue reluctantly held his peace. What a bummer!

After the four of them had finished dinner, they headed back. As soon as they entered the villa, they bumped into Ye Tuo.

“Young master Quan, you’ve kept me searching.” Ye Tuo, dressed in a light blue casual suit, looked the very image of a gentleman.

Quan Mingxuan asked, “What’s the matter, General Manager Ye?”

“Well, there’s a separate small western-style house behind our villa, where a dance party is taking place tonight. I wanted to invite you guys over, but I wasn’t lucky enough as all of you were out.” He stated.

Most of the participants in this land tender were of their generation, so a dance party was a good opportunity for them to break the ice.

“A dance party?” Han Yue’s eyes sparkled.

“Yes, the party has already started. Would you like to join in, Mr. Han?” Ye Tuo asked with a smile.

“Of course! I have nothing better to do anyway.” Han Yue casually looped his arm around Quan Mingxuan’s neck and said with a wide grin, “Mingxuan, let’s have some fun.”

Quan Mingxuan didn’t have any objections. He turned his head to look at Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu and asked, “Jian Qing, would you two like to join us?”

“No, you guys go ahead.” Jian Qing shook her head. She was never that interested in parties.

“Let’s go.” Quan Jingwu took Jian Qing’s hand, and they left together.

“Mr. Quan certainly listens to Miss Jian,” Ye Tuo remarked, watching their retreating figures.

Han Yue scoffed, “That’s called pampering one’s wife!”

After his comment, Ye Tuo was taken aback. He then followed Han Yue and Quan Mingxuan to the party.

The party at the small western house seemed quite lively. The pulsating electronic music could still be heard even in the villa’s yard.

Upon returning to her room, Jian Qing sluggishly snuggled up on the couch, lamenting that overeating could indeed be torturous.

“Sweetheart, I’ve prepared your bath,” Quan Jingwu announced, stepping out from the bathroom with his sleeves rolled up.

Jian Qing watched him as he stood in front of the wardrobe riffling through her clothes. She got up and walked over to him, “Jingwu, what are you looking for?” she asked.

“Your nightgown,” he replied.

Jian Qing nodded, but when she saw the gown he took out from the wardrobe the next second, she instantly lost her cool.

“How…how could you bring this here?” she asked.

It was a white silk nightgown, the one Yifei gave her back when they were at the old Quan mansion.

Quan Jingwu casually played with the nightgown, a smirk on his lips, “I just casually brought it along.”

Jian Qing, “…”

Casually?

He happened to bring this gown casually? He had all the things in the world to bring, yet he happened to bring THIS nightgown.

Suddenly, she regretted letting him pack her luggage. She wondered if he had set her up.

“I’m not wearing this,” she declared firmly.

Quan Jingwu smirked around his cigarette, “Then what do you want to wear?”

“Of course my own pajamas.” Short-sleeved top and shorts, couldn’t be more perfect.

As soon as she finished speaking, he looked apologetic, “Sweetheart, I forgot to bring your pajamas. So for tonight, you’ll have to make do with wearing this.”

Thunderstruck, Jian Qing turned pale and gritted her teeth, “Say that again!”

Just say it again, and she guaranteed she won’t kill him!

He forgot to bring her pajamas but remembered to bring the nightgown. Did he think she was that easy to fool?

“Sweetheart, when I was packing your luggage that day, I asked you what to bring and you told me to decide. You remember?” He had a glint of suppressed laughter in his eyes and spoke quite casually.

Jian Qing’s face changed as she suddenly remembered that at that time she had been busy eating cake and had casually replied to him. So was it her fault now?

He continued, “How about this: you wear my shirt?”

Watching him from the corner of her eye as he looked through the hanging shirts in his wardrobe, Jian Qing’s lips twitched. So, she had no choice?

One was the nightgown, two was the shirt?

No, she had other clothes to wear; she didn’t have to wear pajamas necessarily.

With that thought, Jian Qing lifted her red lips into a defiant smirk. Looking at him, she declared, “I choose neither. I’ll wear this.”

Saying so, she reached into the wardrobe and pulled out a casual suit.

Quan Jingwu glanced at the clothes in her hand and asked quietly, “Sweetheart, do you still remember the condition you agreed to before the race?”
