?Chapter 410: 396, Hurting the Wrong Person (2)_1 Chapter 410: 396, Hurting the Wrong Person (2)_1 “Perhaps I should help.” Mo Xiao glanced at Quan Jingwu’s hand that was around his daughter’s waist, the sight irking him.
As he spoke, he reached out intending to support her himself.
Quan Jingwu stepped to the side, evading his hand.
His brows furrowed with displeasure, a glint of displeasure flashing in his gaze.
Did this father-in-law not know the meaning of boundaries?
Mo Xiao wasn’t happy either, his handsome face stern.
His darling daughter had acknowledged his position; he now had the upper hand.
The two fathers glared at each other, creating a somewhat delicate atmosphere.
“Dad, I need to handle something. After processing it, we’ll leave,” Jian Qing finally broke the silence at this crucial moment.
Hearing her calling him ‘daddy’ filled Mo Xiao with immense joy, turning his gloomy face radiant.
His smile bloomed wide, portraying clearly his adoring affection towards his daughter, “Okay, I will listen to you.”
Quan Jingwu shot him a look, a glint of distaste flashing across his eyes.
All he did was grin like a fool.
Mo Xiao, being who he was, could see the disdain flashing in Quan Jingwu’s eyes, and it made him silently fume.
But before he could react, Quan Jingwu had already picked up Jian Qing and made his way down the stairs, bypassing him.
“Boss, madam!” Shen Hao greeted them both.
Almost immediately after greeting them, Jian Qing heard some suspicious moaning.
She traced the source of the sound, looking at the slightly ajar door, and instantly understood.
“Is the Peacock in there?”
Yi Kai, ever knowledgeable, quickly responded with a nod.
“Should we ask our people to stop?”
Jian Qing nodded, and understanding her intention, Yi Kai pushed the door open and walked in.
Sensing a hostile gaze on her, Jian Qing turned around just to be faced with Julie’s furious red eyes. She merely glanced at her before shifting her eyes away.
This whole situation was of Peacock’s making. It had nothing to do with her.
Shortly, Yi Kai reemerged, followed by a few bodyguards.
The bodyguards maintained expressionless faces, devoid of any signs that they had just had intercourse, with a hidden look of disdain in their eyes.
Julie charged forward, pushing them aside, and ran into the room.
The room was dark, the air brimming with a heavy post-coital scent.
As Julie turned on the lights, the sight that greeted her caused her to buckle.
On the bed not too far away, all that remained of Lola’s red dress was scattered fragments of fabric on the floor.
Julie weaved unsteadily over, even stumbling once in the process.
She stood by the bed, her gaze descending on the disheveled scene before her.
Lola was covered in bruises; the blood at the corner of her mouth already dried up, her empty eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, looking akin to a broken doll.
Julie had only one daughter. Seeing her daughter violated in such a manner caused her blood to boil.
Those damned beasts.
She sat on the bed, gently lifting Lola up and letting her lean against her.
“Lola, it’s okay. Mumsy’s here, everything will be okay.”
She drew in the covers around Lola, gently soothing her.
Lola stayed silent, her eyes dull and vacant.
“Lola, mumsy will avenge you. You are still mumsy’s little gem.” Tears welled up in Julie’s eyes as she spoke.
After a long while, Lola finally spoke.
“I want to get dressed.”
Her voice was hoarse, and it slightly grated the ears.
Seeing Lola finally willing to talk, Julie hurriedly agreed.
She released Lola, stood up and found a bathrobe in the room, helping her put it on.
Lola bowed her head, a fierce hatred flashing deep within her eyes.
All of it was because of that wretched Jian Qing, she was the one who had caused her such devastation.
She, a princess, had been humiliated by those men, and the command had come from the man she loved most.
She couldn’t swallow this insult, all had to be blamed on Jian Qing.
“Lola, listen to mommy, there are people everywhere outside, you can’t go out there. Mommy knows the hatred in your heart, but we need to learn to be patient, we will settle these scores eventually.” Julie whispered close to her ear.
Lola’s face changed and she forcefully pushed her away.
“When I was being humiliated, none of you came to save me.”
Her accusing gaze and the hatred on her face caused Julie to falter.
She opened her mouth to explain, but Lola cut her off.
“You just care about the benefits of the Durand Family, you don’t care about me at all, you all are so heartless, I hate you all to death.”
Lola was screaming hysterically, and her voice could be heard outside.
Julie’s tears streamed down her face, she shook her head and said, “Lola, it’s not what you think, Mommy didn’t choose not to save you, they stopped your Daddy and me, listen to Mommy explain.”
“I don’t want to hear, I hate you.”
Lola covered her ears and roared.
“Lola…”
Julie wiped away her tears, feeling helpless.
At this point, Lola grabbed the fruit knife on the table and turned to run out. Seeing this, Julie was startled and quickly chased after her.
“Lola, come back.”
As she stepped outside the room, Lola immediately spotted Jian Qing, who was being held in Quan Jingwu’s arms.
Seeing Jian Qing treated with such care by Quan Jingwu and then comparing it to her own bad outcome, a surge of anger burned her reason.
Why was she trampled by so many men while another one experienced nothing like that.
It’s not fair, not fair.
“Jian Qing, you wretch, die!”
She raised the fruit knife, its sharp edge gleaming coldly under the light.
Mo Xiao stepped forward to protect Jian Qing.
His eyes darkened, just about to react when another figure rushed over, blocking his path and colliding with the knife.
The clear sound of knife plunging into flesh could be heard, time seemed to freeze, and silence engulfed the surroundings.
Jian Qing looked at the person who took the stab, surprise flickering in her eyes.
“Julie!”
A voice of agony rang out, and Count Durand rushed over, his eyes filled with rage.
Lola was awakened by his voice, regaining her senses. Looking at the person across from her, a flash of terror crossed her face.
Looking at her blood-stained hand, she let go of the knife as if it was burning her hand.
“I, I didn’t mean it.”
Her lips trembled, and there was a shimmer of tears in her eyes.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Count Durand sprinted over, helped his wife up and glared in Lola’s direction, “Lola, have you gone mad? She is your mother, how could you kill her?”
Yes, it was Julie who took the knife.
“No, I didn’t, the one I wanted to kill wasn’t Mommy.” Lola shook her head frantically, her pale face marked with tear stains.
“I didn’t want to hurt Mommy, she was the one to rush forward.”
Julie held her chest, a steady stream of fresh blood staining her hand.
Her face went pale, she reached out and held Count Durand’s hand, “Lola didn’t mean to hurt me, Reed, stop yelling at her.”
“Julie, hold on, I’m going to bring the doctor now.” Count Durand turned his head, shouting at the maids.
“What are you still waiting for, go get a doctor.”
The maids were startled, clumsily scattering to find a doctor.
