My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 121: Immortal Saintess

Chapter 121: Immortal Saintess

It was a peaceful day, but a calamity occurred and wiped out the entire mountain region.

Surprisingly, the immense destruction vanished as if the catastrophe had never happened before. It was like a dream, but that mountainous region had indeed changed.

The spiritual energy there became so rich. It was like the Heavenly Sacred Ground all of a sudden. The flora, resources, and minerals in the mountainous region also turned into treasure-grade materials.

Despite all that, a few things were unaffected by the sudden tremendous change.

A blue diamond coffin was buried inside the destroyed ancient temple beneath the Sacred Mountain. A young saintess from a particular prominent clan suffered from a mysterious illness eons ago, and her family was forced to send her to the lower realm to avoid conflict in the upper realm.

The sudden destruction was an extraordinary shock to the young saintess’ spirit.

She was awakened from her deep slumber, but that was only her spirit because the coffin kept her body frozen by the influence of time and space.

A few days after the great destruction, the young saintess peeked out of her coffin with worry and fear.

However, what she found was darkness and rubble. She was truly buried somewhere unknown.

She exerted her spiritual strength for the next few days to move her coffin to a more suitable place.

She sprang into action, recuperated, and then tried her best again. It took her years to move her coffin to a more suitable place to recuperate.

She also hoped for her mysterious illness to be cured. She also had to find someone trustworthy with great talent to help her if she didn’t want her body to remain in her deep slumber for eternity.

*Bam*

The blue coffin broke through the walls and ruins. It fell into a hall that was bright and warm.

"Where am I? How many years have it been since my deep slumber?" The young saintess wondered, hoping she would find someone to answer her questions.

Unfortunately, what she found was a large kaleidoscopic spherical crystal. It emitted a sacred aura that made her feel both awe and respect, but she was still worried.

Her spirit kept hiding in her coffin to recuperate before trying anything else.

A few days later, a young girl in a white and red traditional outfit came to that sacred ground.

At that time, the young saintess found an opportunity to ask for help. Yet, she was immediately dumbfounded when she saw an injured six-winged Goddess sealed within the kaleidoscopic spherical crystal.

The holy maiden knelt before that six-winged Goddess to pray and left five minutes later.

"She just disappeared? Was it teleportation?" The young saintess was shocked when the holy maiden could no longer be seen.

There were no entrances or gaps. Even the hole she made to get here has been closed.

Nevertheless, a Goddess also suffered a similar fate as her. She tried to ask a favour, but she received no response.

It was like she was talking to someone and being ignored. She seemed to be stared at by many pairs of eyes, but she couldn’t comprehend what was happening.

She tried to talk to the Goddess several times, but she always got the silent treatment.

On the seventh attempt, she came out of her coffin, which was piled up with rubble. She floated like a ghost and stopped before the kaleidoscopic spherical crystal.

"Gulp..." The young saintess felt nervous. She opened her mouth to speak but somehow felt extremely pressured.

It was just her illusion, perhaps. It was like a child wanting to ask something from an adult, but the latter only stared at the former with a glare.

Nothing happened, and the crystal remained calm. The Goddess didn’t even appear inside the crystal. It was still so blurry and colourful. However, the silence somehow frightened the young saintess.

"..." The young saintess returned to her coffin in a panic.

She didn’t know about the condition of the Goddess who was sealed inside that large crystal. The Goddess probably suffered a worse situation than her. Thus, she could only try her luck on the holy maiden.

It had been thirty days since the holy maiden last visited that sacred ground. The young saintess continued to wait patiently.

She once thought that some misfortune befell the innocent, holy maiden, but she still wished for the Goddess of Luck to bless her. It might be her only chance.

*Zap*

The holy maiden teleported into the sacred ground, and the young saintess was excited.

However, when the Goddess could be seen inside the spherical crystal again, it put mental pressure on the pitiful saintess ghost. She couldn’t move for five minutes.

The moment she could move, she found the holy maiden was about to leave.

She might be temporarily detained because she couldn’t disrupt the holy maiden’s sacred ritual. Nevertheless, she couldn’t let her chance walk away.

*Swoosh*

The young saintess shot up like a flash of air without a sound and hid in the holy maiden’s obi belt. She disguised her presence and ensured it remained unknown until they could get out of that sacred ground.

She was worried the Goddess would detain her again, and she couldn’t bear the pressure to be in front of the Goddess for long.

Unknown to her, her technique caused her spirit to hibernate for a few days. Even so, her disguise and whereabouts were still unknown to anyone.

It had been several days, and she finally woke up. For some reason, she both felt agitated and anxious all of a sudden.

’Let’s greet the holy maiden, and I can ask her for help. If she is good, I can reward her with ultra-powerful techniques from the upper realm.’ The young saintess floated out of the holy maiden’s obi belt.

However, she found that there were many people around. The holy maiden couldn’t even be seen anywhere. Everyone stared at her, and they looked like devils...

’Is it possible the holy maiden encountered an unfortunate fate? What about me then!?’ The young saintess panicked.

"A ghost?"

"Why did it come out of our master’s outfit?"

"This female ghost is a bit different. She has a pleasant and holy aura, not malicious and evil."

"Is that one of our master’s holy artifacts?"

"Hey, why are you so scared, ghost girl?"

Several ’devils’ surrounded the young saintess, frightening the anxious spirit.

"Aaah, where am I!?" The frightened young saintess flew out of the cave.

She felt that she had just passed through an invisible barrier. However, what greeted her when she left that cave was a nightmare.

The sky was like a blazing blue fire. The barren wasteland was burning like hell. Lots of evil spirits, ghosts, demons, and all kinds of terrible monsters were approaching.

*Po-weepp* *Po-weepp*

A strange noise that sounded like a provoking disturbance called any creatures to come closer to a spot about twenty kilometers near the rocky mountain.

"Have I died and been sent to hell!? How is that possible? I am a good saintess. Even if I die, I should arrive in heaven!" The young saintess grasped her head in panic.

She then noticed her spiritual body was contaminated by the evil energy in the air. It started to corrupt her, and she would become an evil spirit at this rate.

Therefore, the young saintess returned to the cave hideout, but she crashed into an invisible barrier. She could go out just fine a few seconds ago but couldn’t get in now.

She also could no longer detect the presence of anyone in the cave. It was as if no one had ever been there, but she knew it was due to a potent disguise formation.

"Please let me in, let me in! I’m a good spirit. I don’t want to be punished in hell and become an evil spirit!" The young saintess begged while hitting the barrier frantically. She didn’t want to be contaminated by the evil energy.

"..." Gabriella dan her juniors were speechless. They had no idea who this ghost was, but they needed to do something to save her first.

"Sigh, what’s with this noisy ghost?" Sylvia rubbed her head and summoned her blood thread. She bound the noisy ghost and then pulled it into the hideout.

"A heavenly devil!?" The young saintess was shocked.

"Noisy." Sylvia bundled the noisy ghost like a cocoon, then threw it into a corner of the cave. She hadn’t finished her recovery meditation yet, and Ely was resting. Nobody was allowed to cause trouble.

"Mu-mhmm, mm!" The young saintess tried to speak, but she could only utter some muffled noise.

The high devil’s blood thread bound her spiritual body like helpless prey. She couldn’t even levitate like how a spirit normally could.

Rafaela used her purification skill to cleanse the ghost girl from evil energy contamination. Unfortunately, she was not strong enough to completely remove the evil energy of hell like what her master could do.

"Please be quiet. When my master wakes up, she will help you. We don’t know anything about you either, so please stay there for a while." Rafaela advised the pitiful ghost girl.

After that, everyone left the pitiful ghost girl in the corner of the cave.

A few hours later, Ely woke up from her sleep.

She found everyone was ready to jump into battle again. Gabriella then informed her about several things.

Countless evil creatures surrounded the fake hideout trap. However, a particular ghost somehow popped out of her outfit. The ghost girl in question was still bound by Sylvia’s blood thread like a cocoon in the corner of the cave.

Ely approached and freed the mysterious ghost, then asked. "Please don’t be afraid. But, may I know who you are?"

That simple question made everyone wary.

The ghost in question popped out of Ely’s outfit, but Ely couldn’t recognize it. So, it wasn’t one of Ely’s holy artifacts but an unknown variable that had to be suspected!
