Chapter 168: The Clash Between Colossal

Under the glow of the starry twilight sky, the army of undead and demonic golems has taken over the entire southeastern coastal region.

More than three thousand warriors defended the region’s border as they had to ensure the demons and monsters did not spread into their territory.

The demonic golems knew nothing but destroy, and the fierce undead did nothing but slaughter. However, they had something in common. They painted the ground all red and killed anything that blocked their path.

*Boom!*

One of the human-like golem titans smashed the nearby fortification array and a mountain into ruins. One of the defensive walls of the Human Alliance was torn down after several minutes of clashes.

"Protect our land! Destroy the demons!"

"O-oh!"

A Grand Master’s cry echoed in the evening twilight. Thousands of warriors shouted their warcry before clashing with the undead.

The stronger mages and cultivators battled the golem titans. Regardless, the human side was still on the losing side.

Sylvia gazed at that battle from atop a nearby tall mountain with amazement. The mastermind behind this chaos was a newly awakened Heavenly Demon God’s Inheritor. Yet, the threat was already on the level of disaster only about six hours since the reported turbulence was detected here.

"Our target is supposedly only at 6th or 7th Rank at most, but why does she have an army of undead and golems? There are even some at 7th Rank and 8th Rank golem titans." Using magic eyes, Yuuki tried to find the Heavenly Demon Inheritor deep within the red territory.

"What’s going on? It escalated too quickly. Our informants died while scouting the Heavenly Demon’s whereabouts. We can’t contact them..." Rafaela paled after failing to contact the informants.

"Are they one of the Guardians of Dream?" Sylvia asked.

"No. Our informants are secret agents who work under the Guardian of Dream, but not the primary members." Gabriella shook her head.

"Is that so. They have served their purpose and died as heroes. We can only eliminate the Heavenly Demon to avenge them." Sylvia responded nonchalantly. Everything was fine as long as the 144 of Ely’s disciples and the ten Apostles did not fall on this mission.

She then stared at the land several kilometers ahead. The entire region was covered with red, and a smell of blood wafted through the air.

Even though everything looked so red, not everything was pure blood. Caused mainly by the sedimentation of some liquid secreted by the undead and golems.

She was the blood dragon devil, but she had never painted a vast region with blood red like that.

On one side was blood-red land, but on one side was an icy blue sea. The red soil was hot enough to make the falling snow melt. However, there was no snow in the southeastern coastal region.

"Let’s make our move now. I can feel the greater evil hiding and accumulating more power in that reddest area. That blood-red valley is so sus." Sylvia took out her divine dark spear.

"Alright. Ely will arrive in a few minutes. Plan A. Disciple Squad shall reduce the enemies, and Elder Team shall force the final boss to come out. Don’t come into contact with those demonic red liquids." Yuuki gave her instructions to all disciples.

"Affirmative!" The disciples responded in unison. Elder Yuuki was the general of this operation, and Disciple Squad immediately split up into several teams.

A team was led by a leader, and each team had their respective duties as planned. Half the Disciple Squad flew with Elder Yuuki and Sylvia towards the blood-red plains. But, the other half remained in the safe zone, ready to assist and protect their comrades’ backs.

"Hahaha! Why are humans so weak? They only send a bunch of cannon fodders here? Go summon your elders and great elders, or you will be wiped out in minutes!" Sylvia laughed mockingly at the humans struggling against the undead and golems.

*Swoosh!*

A massive magma black dragon flew past the human army and entered an all-red area. Noir flew closer to the ground and turned anything in his surroundings into hot lava with his aura.

"It’s a devil and a super big demonic dragon!"

"Why is a high-rank devil here!?"

"A wild enemy has appeared!"

"Wait, look at the symbol on those cloaked experts’ backs. They are Sacred Sakura’s people!"

"Reinforcements haven’t arrived yet, but the super big ally has arrived. The legendary nine-tailed fox is also here. We are safe!"

"Yeah, the demons shall meet their demise soon! Go with me, my comrades! We shall assist Sacred Sakura to slaughter these undead and demonic golems!"

"O-oh!"

The humans were initially taken aback when a massive magma black dragon flew past them from the sky. Not to mention the 10th Rank devil’s arrival.

However, they soon breathed a sigh of relief and their morale burned like wildfire. They charged at the undead with renewed vigor.

"Noir, let’s color this land red with red fire! Burn those undead and golems into ashes!" Sylvia stretched her hand forward.

"Roar!" Noir roared loudly. He accumulated bursts of fire until his belly swelled up and glowed red.

*Swoosh!*

Noir spouted fiery red flames, turning the battlefield into a sea of fire.

The scene was like a fire tsunami disaster. The red soil covered in dark demonic creatures was swallowed in a sea of red flames. Thousands of undead and demonic golems were swept by the sea of fire and burned to the ashes.

However, some stronger undead and golem titans survived. A particular golem titan jumped high into the sky.

*Bam!*

The titan golem punched the flying black dragon with its fire-covered fist, but Noir counterattacked with a dragon tail whip.

*Boom!*

The golem titan was sent back to the ground. Regardless, another nine demonic golem titans had already leapt into the sky and were about to smash the dragon from various directions.

"It’s our show time. Annihilate them all!" Gabriella jumped off Noir’s back.

She led her team, and the others immediately jumped into battle. They bombarded the battlefield with an overwhelming force. Those in the backline also unleashed long-range attacks to assist them.

Sylvia and Yuuki remained at Noir’s back to monitor the overall situation. However, a mountain-sized thing suddenly rose from underground.

A gigantic golem hand soared up into the sky, about to pull down the flying dragon.

"Fire." Sylvia gave the command, and Noir immediately released another wave of fire breath.

The gigantic hand was burned in the blazing flames and turned red like lava, but the fire didn’t stop it from grabbing the massive dragon.

*Bam!*

The gigantic golem’s hand clashed with the massive dragon’s claws. Yet, dozens of black chains protruded from the golem’s hand and entangled the dragon.

The gigantic golem underground pulled down the massive black dragon. Yet, Noir also pulled the gigantic golem out from its hiding place.

*Boom!*

The massive dragon landed on the ground, and the gigantic golem was pulled to the surface. The clashes between the colossal then ensued, causing continuous earthquakes.

"Will you let him fight that 9th Rank gigantic demonic golem alone? That thing probably has some unknown, terrifying mechanisms stored in its body, including self-destruct." Yuuki squinted her eyes as she tried to measure the gigantic golem’s secrets.

That gigantic golem was like a giant black stone gorilla, but that thing was slightly bigger than the mountain-sized Noir. She could hardly detect its actual danger because each demonic golem had many ancient mechanics and components.

"It’s fine. Let’s color this chaotic land with more colors. The true mastermind isn’t that strong yet, but her ability is obviously troublesome. We need to spot her hideout and force her out first. I want to test my power with killing intent too. I hope she can entertain me~" Sylvia stared into a particular blood-red valley. The conspicuous place with redder soil than other areas.

"Alright then." Yuuki then flew away with Sylvia to find the Heavenly Demon’s whereabouts.

*Boom!*

The gigantic demonic golem grappled with the massive magma black dragon on the ground. They were almost the same size, and their clashes caused the surrounding area to be irreparably destroyed.

Everything around the two giants’ fight was squashed flat and melted into hot lava.

"These undead and golems are pouring out a lot of red liquid, but it’s not blood. Beware of it, and make sure you don’t get stained with that strange liquid." Gabriella reminded her juniors once again while observing the destroyed undead and golems.

"Sector one clear."

"Sector two to five clear."

"Sector seven clear."

"Sector six problem. We are having a hard time destroying the golem titan. Request for reinforcements."

"Sector nine emergency. Golem titans are surrounding us. We’re out of explosives."

"Sector ten detects danger. Ten golem titans and the gigantic golem ganged up on Noir. We need to assist him."

"Affirmative. We’ll be there."

"Move, move! Keep moving and eradicate these disgusting things into ashes!"

Hearing requests for reinforcements from other teams, the ten Apostles immediately rushed to help the troubled sectors. The battlefield was unbalanced, and they would fix that by reducing the number of demons while waiting for their master and reinforcements to arrive.

"Holy... Great earthquakes keep happening because of them."

"The black dragon is so massive, and that demonic golem is like a moving mountain. No, it’s bigger than a mountain..."

The human cultivators and mages gaped at the fight between the colossal in the distance, but the situation was still precarious.

They were on the battlefield and had to hold their ground until reinforcements and main troops arrived, even if it cost them their lives. However, Sacred Sakura’s people came to the rescue and destroyed the enemy’s army.

Hence, everyone advanced into enemy territory. They switched from total defence to all-out assault and followed Sacred Sakura’s people.
