Chapter 169: Survive for Five Minutes

"This is truly gruesome and terrible..." Bai Yuchen paled when he saw the battlefield’s cruelty once again. He wielded the God-tier holy spear, but the number of enemies was overwhelming.

Casualties fell, but the enemies were still so many. Within an hour, everyone could only reduce the undead and demon golems to less than a quarter of the demon army.

Not to mention, the blood-red land ahead was filled with a thick, dark demonic aura. Nobody could tell how many people had been slaughtered by the Heavenly Demon. Still, the southeastern coastal region had already collapsed with almost no survivors.

Even though the soil redness wasn’t completely caused by blood, it still made anyone feel depressed as one’s heart was gripped due to heavy casualties.

"Are you afraid? The Heavenly Demon might activate a particular demonic ritual or sacrifice ceremony by forming blood and red liquid." Gabriella landed on a boulder.

"No. I just thought the demons should be exterminated without a trace. They shouldn’t be in the Human Realm. We must stop this Heavenly Demon as soon as possible." Bai Yuchen shook his head and pulled his holy spear from the ground.

"Saintess Miko doesn’t want that. There’s always fairness and balance in the world. There’s the good in evil and the evil in good. You can’t say all demons are evil and all humans are good. But, yes, we have to stop this Heavenly Demon." Gabriella looked east and then squinted her eyes. Some fierce clashes caught her attention, but it was her juniors.

"Roger that." Bai Yuchen then dashed toward the undead and charged at them with a destructive blast.

"Go back to your team and ensure everyone’s safety." Gabriella warned the new recruit firmly. She could see this young hero was so terrible at teamwork during battle.

"Affirmative!" Bai Yuchen ran back to join his team. He had to fight with his team too.

*Rumble!* *Boom!*

Earthquake happened. The massive magma black dragon crushed the gigantic golem into rubble. The last decisive clash turned the surrounding area into a volcanic crater full of lava, like a pool from hell.

Noir tore the mountain-sized golem to pieces like he was looking for something. He pulled out a big core, and the gigantic golem fell like a puppet with severed strings.

Almost everyone was amazed at the battle between colossal, but an intimidating and oppressive aura suddenly exploded in the sky.

Two 10th Rank experts immediately released a top-class technique in the distance.

*Boom!* *Swoosh*

The super cold aura instantly froze the blood-red valley. Then, a destructive technique was released into the air, splitting the sky with blazing black flames.

The sky suddenly turned blackish-red. Two Deities fought against five enemies in the sky. They were Sylvia and Yuuki against the Heavenly Demon’s super minions.

"Your soul... You were a human, but- I see... You’re not just an inheritor. A demonic divine soul took over your body, too, huh." Yuuki observed the terrifying, thorny, bloody woman before her.

"Is that all you have? Those super minions of yours are your relatives, right? I can sense a faint blood relationship between you and them. I already eliminated one, and it will be your turn soon." Sylvia brandished her dark spear.

"God-tier dark spear and Immortal Ice... But, are you my kin, winged demon?" The Heavenly Demon asked in wonder.

"Bah, don’t equate me with you. But is Heavenly Demon a race? So, there are a lot of you there, eh?" Sylvia snorted sarcastically.

"Is that so? Then, you are just a high-level demon. But you two are so promising. Demon and vixen... join me, and we shall conquer this world. Once we arrive in the upper realm, we will revive Heavenly Demon Race and conquer the Heavens!" The Heavenly Demon spread her arms wide as she stared at the red sky with ecstatic eyes.

"You are beyond saving. Only death is your salvation." Yuuki summoned her God-tier ice bow.

"Don’t waste time talking to her. But, hey! Let me test my new demonic arts first. I am your opponent, demon!" Sylvia raised her arm towards Yuuki before shooting at the enemies like a missile.

"!!!" The Heavenly Demon took a safe distance and controlled her super minions to block the opponent’s spear.

Sylvia tried to control the undead’s blood with her new technique, but it strangely failed. Thus, she summoned her blood clones to keep those super undead minions busy.

She darted straight to her primary target with excited laughter. "Hahaha! My blood clones shall handle them. It is you and me now! Show me what you got and entertain me, Heavenly Demon!"

*Rumble!* *Rumble!* *Boom!*

The sky was getting darker. Multiple red, black, and icy blue clashes exploded in the sky behind the black clouds.

The aura of the two 10th Rank experts was clearly visible in the air. It felt a bit suppressing to those fighting on the ground even though the battle took place high up in the sky.

The Heavenly Demon’s side only exuded the aura of nothing more than a 7th Rank expert and a few 8th Rank super undead minions. Yet, these enemies could still withstand two 10th Rank experts’ onslaught.

"So, that’s the power of a Deity with a God-tier weapon... I still have a long way to go." Bai Yuchen looked up at the sky with admiration and respect. He then rushed to another sector with his team to eradicate more undead and demonic golems.

While the Guardian of Dream battled the undead and demonic golems below, Sylvia and Yuuki teamed up to measure the Heavenly Demon Inheritor.

Yuuki was the support, and Sylvia became the main force as she wanted to test her new demonic arts with killing intent.

Surprisingly, she could barely injure the opponent with her demonic arts. She couldn’t even invade the Heavenly Demon with her techniques.

"Is it because of the level difference between her divine soul power and my spiritual power?" Sylvia muttered softly and changed her attack strategy.

*Swoosh* *whoosh*

Several red whips like tentacles shot out, about to cut Sylvia in half. Sylvia evaded it by a hair with relaxed reflexes as she was still playing around with her opponents.

"It’s like blood, but not blood. Your qi and techniques are a bit strange, but it’s not too different from my spell. Although you can occasionally neutralize my moves, you won’t be able to win with just that, little girl. Take this!" Sylvia accumulated many blood qi and imitated her opponent’s technique.

She unleashed several tentacle-like blood whips to catch the nimble Heavenly Demon.

"Hmph!" The Heavenly Demon sprinkled something into the air.

*Splat*

Sylvia’s blood whips went limp, turning into jelly-like noodles. She tried to control her blood whips, but they somehow malfunctioned. Thus, she turned them back into blood qi and shot toward the opponent for close combat. "For a 7th Rank, you are not too bad."

"You still haven’t stated your name and background, blood demon. Where is your ethics in fighting?" The Heavenly Demon sacrificed her super minion to stop the attacker.

She continued to take a safe distance as she would be at a disadvantage if she directly clashed with a 10th Rank powerhouse.

’Don’t listen to whatever she says. Ely is almost here. Do whatever you want to the demon in five minutes, and we’re done testing her. Beat her if you can.’ Yuuki sent telepathy to Sylvia.

"Hmm~ Hehee, do you want to send a curse or something? That’s not going to happen. Five minutes. Survive for five minutes, and I’ll let you go." Sylvia put her hand to her cheek and replied with a faint smirk.

"Is that so? Out of everyone down there, only you and that vixen pose a threat to me. If you let me go, I might slaughter them all and refine them as my undead puppets." The Heavenly Demon felt suspicious.

"Hehe, I don’t really care about those humans." Sylvia shrugged her shoulders.

"I can’t win against you with my current strength, but it’s easy to survive for five minutes. Be prepared, as this might get you hurt. If I can leave a wound on your body, you will be mine, blood demon." The Heavenly Demon smirked and extended her hand to the side. A puddle of blood formed in the air, and she drew out a blue diamond bone-like staff.

"Keep your wishful thinking to yourself. I already belong to someone and will serve only one person." Sylvia thought for a moment. She had to be a bit serious in dealing with her opponent. She exerted more than half of her strength and immediately shot toward the opponent with a blink.

*Bam!*

Sylvia’s dark spear clashed with the Heavenly Demon’s diamond staff, causing a supersonic explosion in the sky.

Terrific destruction occurred on the all-red land because of the battle between humans and demons. The human troops managed to destroy the enemy army formation with the help of Sacred Sakura’s people.

The massive magma black dragon squashed the golem titans like ants and burned the ground into lava hell at every step.

Noir approached the blood-red valley, but he felt a hidden danger there. He thought for a moment and decided to wait for his master.

Thus, he stopped in his tracks and looked up at the sky. His master was exchanging hundreds of moves with the Heavenly Demon.

For such a 7th Rank demon, that girl could withstand his master’s assault.

However, he knew that his master still hadn’t gone all out to beat up that demon. It was also a Demon God Inheritor with many troublesome tricks. Thus, it was not an easy fight.
