My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 189: Beat Them Up

Chapter 189: Beat Them Up

Many disciples and forest dwellers waited in the outer circle of the seven great mountains around the Sacred Mountain to intercept the intruders.

"Halt, none shall pass beyond here. Please return to wherever you came from."

A disciple gave a warning with mere words. He soared into the air with his fellow disciples.

They held no weapons or anything that could intimidate others, but they were determined to never allow anyone to pass.

"Just a group of kids, and you dare to stop us?"

"The divine light pillar has just descended. A peerless treasure has just appeared in the world. Do you want to grab that treasure by yourself?"

"Do you want to monopolize the treasures? So greedy for a bunch of kids."

"You.. young generation with pretty decent cultivation. Which sect or academy do you come from to have such audacity to confront us?"

"Forget it. You can talk to them, but I and my people need to find the source of the previous pillar of light."

Several experts answered in astonishment, but they didn’t stop their advance. Even a particular group accelerated their flight speed to get past the people blocking them.

"Hehe~ So arrogant for a bunch of bugs."

A female devil’s playful voice resounded from above, and a blood qi shockwave exploded, sending those who accelerated their flight speed into a free fall. However, they immediately stabilized themselves in mid-air before crashing to the ground.

"Goddamn! Demonic blood qi... It’s a blood demon!"

"This is not your territory, devil. I will warn you once. Mind your own business, or you shall pay the price!"

Two 7th Rank experts, who looked like leaders, unsheathed their treasured swords.

"You broke into our backyard without permission. Let’s see who wants to break in after the warning, hmm?" Sylvia’s blood clone put her hand to her cheek and grinned like a villain.

"Stop, stop... Huff-uh... Elder, please, no violence right at the start. We need to talk to them first." One of the disciples caught up with Elder Sylvia’s blood clone breathlessly.

"Hmm, that’s pretty reasonable. If I beat them up, it’ll look like I bullied them. But they act like disgusting insects. Even if they get beaten up, it won’t be a problem, right?" Sylvia’s blood clone tapped her cheek as if considering something.

Someone from the opposing party was about to condemn her. Therefore, she exerted a fragment of her 10th Rank aura, and nobody dared to voice any offensive remark.

One of them, one of the strongest intruders, gulped his saliva. He immediately flew forward and clasped his fist respectfully. "Greetings, esteemed devil. May I know which sect you are affiliated with? Please pardon our rudeness. We may have unintentionally offended you."

"Huh!? Where did your previous arrogance go? You are so arrogant just now, but all of you immediately become like a sycophant when someone stronger confronts you. Can we just beat them up and ask their sect for compensation like the fox sisters incident? It’s an excellent strategy to handle a bunch of arrogant brain-dead." Bai Yuchen’s eyes lit up when a powerful backer was nearby.

He still remembered what Lady Kitsune and Elder Gumiho did at Sumore Forest City. The current incident was similar, where many greedy experts targeted and surrounded them. Thus, they might as well reap some benefit from this.

"What’s with that disgusting smile of yours, stinky boy? Nobody will think you’re mute if you don’t speak. We’re just giving the Devil Deity some face. Don’t push your luck." A burly Grand Master frowned in disgust at that white-haired boy.

*Boom!*

A clash had occurred in the distance. Several groups of intruders did not take the warnings given by the disciples well.

Another clashes occurred in several directions. The intruders were so eager because they thought that a peerless treasure had just appeared to the world.

Reinforcements from the Sacred Mountain, mostly the forest dwellers, soon jumped into action and helped the disciples defeat the intruders.

"Heh~ Looks like your idea isn’t bad either, Bai Boy. They come with malicious intent and thick greed. Beat them up first and talk later!" Sylvia’s blood clone grinned wide like a true villain. She descended like a red comet, and the beatings then began.

Sylvia’s other blood clones also attacked to beat up the intruders from various directions. The disciples and forest dwellers did their job well to ensure no intruders remained untouched. All intruders were then captured.

Amidst the peaceful snowy valley of the seven great mountain formations around the Sacred Mountain, the screams and groans of more than nine hundred people resounded like an eerie melody.

Nearly a thousand people were bruised, badly beaten and bound like hostages. Several disciples and forest dwellers were also injured, but those were only minor injuries.

"Then say that you are from the Sacred Sakura Holy Land, and this mountain region is one of your territories from the start..." The old mage grumbled as he hissed in pain. He was a Saint, a 7th Rank powerhouse... but he got beaten into oblivion and ended up like a swollen pig.

"That’s really bullying. Why is Sacred Sakura’s disciple so unreasonable. They are so vicious..."

"All of us have been captured now. What do we need to do?"

"We need to wait for reinforcements to arrive and redeem us. They may be able to clear up this misunderstanding."

"Hey, we came to investigate the pillar of light! Not to trespass your backyard!"

"Yeah! Who knew this mountainous region was the territory of the Sacred Sakura Holy Land."

Some beaten people couldn’t help but complain. They were all bound like prisoners, and their strength was sealed by the powerful blood devil.

"Hahaha! You get what you fucking deserve, thugs. You never got punished because of your bad deeds, right? Who said you would plunder our treasure?

Who ignored our warning and attacked our people? See what you do? Our disciples and several beast bros are injured because of you. If you don’t provide a clear explanation and proper compensation, don’t blame us if we become unreasonable." Azrael laughed like a villain.

He tied up the last prisoner and threw that person to the other hostage.

"Bully, this is really bullying, you beast! Call Saintess Miko over here! We’ll give you a clear explanation and reasonable compensation! Stop, stop! Don’t beat me anymore..." A burly Grand Master curled up while screaming as several beastkins beat him.

"Don’t try to play a trick under our plain sight. You are stupid to challenge and attack us without considering the consequences." The sea eagle harrumphed and then raised his hand, asking his fellow forest dwellers to spare the offender.

"Why are Sacred Sakura’s people being so vicious? Aren’t they supposed to be the protector of justice overseeing the peace treaty?" A bruised mage lady grumbled while gritting her teeth.

"You can’t blame us either. You came because you wanted to investigate the pillar of light but came at the wrong time. However, some of you wanted to try your luck, thinking it was a treasure or an unexplored secret realm. At least, our people are still reasonable. You only suffered mortal wounds, not loss of life." Evelyn flew over and sighed.

"Your intrusion was at an inopportune time. Our saintess just went through a breakthrough, but she ended up injured. Please be mindful of your words. We still regard you as intruders with malicious intent here." Gabriella came in graciously and explained a bit.

She knew these people still needed to explain why they got beaten up.

"!?" The beaten people gasped in surprise.

They were unlucky enough to enter this area while the Sacred Sakura Holy Land was on high alert because the Saintess Miko was injured.

No wonder Sacred Sakura’s disciples were so fierce towards them. It was also their fault because they ignored the first warning and failed to recognize Sacred Sakura’s disciples. After all, they only knew that Sacred Sakura’s disciples usually wore magnificent cloaks and exquisite combat suits for battle, not casual cultivation robes...

They were currently Sacred Sakura’s hostages, and they could only blame their luck.

Several disciples then recorded all the intruders’ data. It was including name, background, and some miscellaneous details. The intruders gave a clear explanation and had no choice but to provide some compensation for an apology.

After being treated as prisoners for approximately three hours, Sacred Sakura’s people released the intruders with a condition.

"Is it alright to let them go?" Gabriella asked with some concern in mind.

"It’s pretty cheap for them, but so be it." One of Sylvia’s blood clones shrugged her shoulders before heading back to the Sacred Mountain with the other clones.

"That’s probably for the best... We no longer need to keep our whereabouts secret. Their higher-ups will know the root of the incident, and they’ll pay a visit soon." Evelyn grasped her hand with slight relief.

"Why is that? Our master is still injured. What if a Heavenly Demon comes to seek revenge?" Azrael pursed his lips.

"Then, it’s our job to eliminate the threats. Our friends will join us soon, and they are at 8th Rank and above, including some Gods. Even if all the Holy Lands invade us, they will only end up at the losing end." Evelyn replied with a faint smile and flew away.

"Hey, what are you talking about? What about Saintess Miko’s condition? I heard the elders managed to convince Zera to return. What really happened?" Bai Yuchen ran over with some curiosity. They received a fortune from compensation, but he was still unhappy and anxious over the fact Saintess Miko was injured.

"Something unexpected happened in the sacred ground. Goddess Zera is still taking care of Saintess Miko now. For the rest, we must wait for our master to wake up." Gabriella shook her head, still unconvinced about the truth regarding her master and Goddess Elysia.

She then faced everyone and spread her arms. "Listen, Sacred Mountain is on high alert. Our master is injured and is recovering right now. No intruders are permitted to enter Sacred Mountain without permission!"

The command was given, and all disciples and forest dwellers obeyed it without question.

Saintess Miko was injured because of her recent breakthrough in the sacred ground. It was what everyone understood. However, only a few core disciples know the truth.

"..." Bai Yuchen fell silent as all the core disciples flew back to the Sacred Mountain. He then gazed into the distance as he could smell some approaching trouble.

He then scratched his head. "Why do I feel like some powerful entities are approaching? It’s so soon. Are they friend or foe?"
