Chapter 190: The Incoming Visitors
Chapter 190: The Incoming Visitors
"Saintess Mingyue, the Scarlet Sovereign would like you to come to his study chamber." A servant came to report respectfully.
"Huh? Right now?" Mingyue was stunned for a moment.
She put down her sprinkler, feeling a bit tense. It had been almost a month since she had met her father. Whenever he called her, he wanted her to do something for him...
"Yes, the Scarlet Sovereign is waiting for your presence now." The servant nodded in response.
"Give me a minute." Mingyue glanced at her casual pajamas, then drifted to a nearby room to change her clothes. She came out a minute later, already wearing her Blood Moon Saintess outfit.
The servant then escorted Mingyue to the Scarlet Sovereign’s study chamber. The servant opened the door, and then Mingyue went inside.
"Royal father, I have come at your summons." Mingyue greeted her father with the elegant etiquette of royalty.
Her father remained seated in a cross-legged position as if he were meditating. She waited a few seconds before he answered her.
"Put aside the formality. We discovered the Sacred Sakura’s territory, but an accident occurred there. Saintess Miko is injured." The Scarlet Sovereign glanced at his youngest daughter once, then closed his eyes again in meditation.
"Huh!?" Mingyue was surprised but more concerned about her friend’s well-being. "What actually happened? How could Saintess Miko be injured in Sacred Sakura’s territory?"
"Elder Jie and his team are already waiting for you at the palace gate. Get ready to go visit your good friend now. We shall use this opportunity to measure Sacred Sakura’s depth and bottom line." The Scarlet Sovereign gave his order and returned to silence.
"..." Mingyue took a deep breath and heaved a subtle sigh. Her father didn’t answer her questions, only gave orders. His silence indicated he wanted her to carry out his command right away.
"Then, please excuse me. I will immediately depart for Sacred Sakura’s territory with Elder Jie." Mingyue paid her respect, then left her father’s study chamber.
She went straight to the palace gate to meet her uncle as she knew her uncle would answer her questions, unlike her father.
"Lady Mingyue, we have been waiting for you." The nearby General greeted the approaching saintess, but she ignored her and went straight to Elder Jie.
"Uncle Jie, I know you know something just happened in Sacred Sakura’s territory. Please tell me what happened to Saintess Miko." Minyue stood in front of her uncle with a worried expression.
"Please calm yourself down. Saintess Miko is fine. She is injured due to a drawback in her breakthrough. How about we talk on the way?" Feng Jie grasped his hand behind his back and climbed onto the nearby luxurious flying chariot.
Mingyue agreed with that and immediately went up. They then departed from the Blood Moon Central Palace with a royal escort and advanced at a steady speed.
"Saintess Miko went through her tribulation, and she summoned the pillar of divine light from heaven. However, something happened to her, and she received a backlash. However, her accident revealed her hidden holy land’s whereabouts to everyone." Feng Jie sipped his wine calmly.
"How can you say it like that, Uncle Jie? Saintess Miko is injured. However, do you know about the whole story?" Mingyue snorted in dissatisfaction. She knew her sect wished to reap something from this incident, and she didn’t like it.
"Hehe, my bad. Sacred Sakura is now on high alert, and we will visit Saintess Miko in three days to avoid any friendly fire." Feng Jie laughed lightly.
He then told Minyue a bit about what he knew regarding the incident in a particular mountainous region in the Northern Realm.
Many experts investigated the mysterious divine light pillar that suddenly appeared in the Northern Realm. Several hundred young generations then confronted them and warned the intruders to return.
Unfortunately, those people ignored the warning and barged into the Sacred Sakura’s territory.
Sacred Sakura’s people captured about a thousand offenders, and the other approaching experts rushed to escape because they knew of the danger that awaited them. After all, several 10th Rank powerhouses were even standing guard around that mountainous region.
"Pfft, hee, heehee~ It was their fault for ignoring the Sacred Sakura’s early warnings. But three days, huh... Can’t we visit earlier?" Mingyue covered her mouth as she almost couldn’t contain her laughter.
"No. Saintess Miko plays a more important role than we thought. They refused any visitors and asked anyone to wait three days."
"Isn’t that a bit dangerous? After all, there will be a lot of people who will visit Sacred Sakura."
"Sacred Sakura became a major power in just a few months since they meddled in the affairs of the mortal world. Even other holy lands need to respect them."
"That region is probably just Sacred Sakura’s palace fortress to guard their secret realm like us. I would like to visit Sacred Sakura Secret Realm if possible~"
"Please do so, and it will help us measure Sacred Sakura’s real power. Unlike Frozen Cloud’s unguarded realm portal, Sacred Sakura kept its whereabouts very secret until recently. You need to remember... please be mindful of your every word and deed. Saintess Miko is kind and friendly, but we don’t know about other Sacred Sakura’s influential people."
"Alright, I understand, Uncle Jie. Can we visit Ichor City for a bit? I need to prepare souvenirs and some gifts and medicine for my friend. I need to make sure my friend is happy with my arrival."
"Alright, but we have prepared everything, including the friendship gift."
"Oh, royal father is the most excited about this, huh. But I hope Blood Moon Pavilion doesn’t have any ill will towards Sacred Sakura."
Mingyue heaved a subtle sigh as she stared out the window pensively.
They then landed in one of the big cities in the Scarlet Domain Secret Realm because Mingyue needed to buy some things to prepare for her visit to the Sacred Sakura Holy Land.
After that, they exited the Scarlet Domain Secret Realm and flew at a steady speed toward the north as they were in no rush to arrive at Sacred Sakura’s territory.
On that occasion, Mingyue used her talisman to contact her friend, but she couldn’t reach Miko. Thus, she tried to call Meiying, but the other party was out of reach.
"Meiying might be in the Frozen Cloud Secret Realm?" Mingyue gazed at the distant turquoise sky, feeling a bit bored. She was still in the far south while their destination was in the far north.
"Chirp!" Yu’er the little firebird tried to attract her master’s attention.
"Would you like to play Xiangqi, Yu’er? Uncle Jie is impossible to beat, but you are smart enough to provide a challenge." Mingyue played a board game with her little pet to pass the time.
---
While the Blood Moon envoys were going to Sacred Sakura’s territory, Meiying had just received news regarding the divine light pillar and Sacred Sakura’s whereabouts.
"Saintess Miko is injured due to an enemy attack in Sacred Sakura’s territory? This isn’t good... I need to see my master now." Meiying ended her extreme training session, leaving her cultivation chamber immediately.
"Saintess Mei-" Meiying’s servant called out, but Meiying had already left.
*Bam*
Meiying walked into her master’s cultivation chamber. However, her master seemed to have expected her arrival. She then came closer and paid her respect. "Master, something urgent happened. This disciple wanted to request something."
"If it’s related to Sacred Sakura and Saintess Miko, you can decide. You are the chief of human relations between us and them. Do what you think is best. I give you that authority. However, you can only bring a Demi-God elder and several disciples or servants." The Palace Master responded from her icy cultivation spot, then handed her jade plaque to her disciple.
"Huh?" Meiying was stunned for a moment. She hadn’t even requested anything yet, and her master immediately gave her the authority.
"This disciple shall take her leave for the Sacred Sakura’s territory. Is it okay if I go with Elder Lin Mei?"
"Alright. Bring some healing medicines, elixirs, and friendship gifts from the treasury. Use this opportunity to measure Sacred Sakura’s depth as well. If possible, try to enter the Sacred Sakura Secret Realm through Saintess Miko." The Palace Master nodded slightly.
Meiying then excused herself. Because she held her master’s permission, everything went smoothly. No one complicated her departure, thanks to Sacred Sakura’s good influence on Frozen Cloud’s well-being.
---
"Do you know where the Sacred Sakura’s territory we are heading to?" Lin Mei adjusted her silk veil and then covered her mouth with an ice fan with a sigh.
The impatient saintess urged her to join the envoy team to Sacred Sakura immediately. She hadn’t even finished preparing, but Meiying dragged her away. Nevertheless, she couldn’t protest because the matter was also considered urgent.
"I don’t know for sure either, elder. However, we can ask our outside intel. Almost everyone on this continent witnessed that divine light pillar." Meiying glanced at the other disciples, but they were as clueless as her because they were all in their secret realm when that happened.
"Is that so." Lin Mei rolled her eyes. She could understand the urgency and what they could gain from this event, but she couldn’t grasp why Meiying urged them to leave on such short notice.
"Don’t look at me... We can still ask people on the way. Saintess Miko can’t be contacted, but let me try Saintess Mingyue..." Meiying felt a little troubled.
Deep in her heart, she was perturbed about Miko’s safety.
