Chapter 245: Death to Witches
Chapter 245: Death to Witches
"..." Amy looked at the nearby bubble camp in astonishment.
"Does that surprise you?" Lifa tidied up the Duel Trial Artifact and deactivated it. Everyone had had their turn and fun playing it, but it was already near their bedtime.
"Yeah, Goddess Elysia is so close and gentle to her people. Sometimes, she doesn’t have the lofty aura typical of a superior being at all, just like a lovely sister next door." Amy rested her cheek into her hand.
"Hmm, sometimes the relationship between master and subordinates can be very rigid on your side. However, our Ely built her family, and we are happy to be by her side." Fortuna replied with a tender smile while Elysia and Rhea were dancing happily. Their experiments had shed a light closer to the solution.
"That’s enough for today. We will rest for the night. Would you like to send a report to your Lord?" Lifa stood up from her seat and meant to tap upwards.
"Yes, I will go out to sea for a moment to send a letter to Heavenly Palace." Amy replied with a nod. She turned into particles of darkness and vanished somewhere.
"She’s left. Ely encountered a little dilemma. Let’s meet her." Nell flew out of the bubble and entered Elysia’s bubble camp.

<| Godly System |>
<| Believers: 200.7K | Fruitful: 160.3K | Unfruitful: 38.6K | Rootless: 1.8K |>
The first interface of Elysia’s Godly System showed several panels, but the primary focus was on her believers.
Because this Godly System originated from the Goddess of Life, the believers were divided into three categories, and it stemmed from the Tree of Life’s parables.
The Fruitful for the devout believers. Those with a high percentage of faith would regard her words as the absolute truth and would carry out her orders regardless of anything. The Unfruitful for the good believers in their mind and heart, but their anxious care and consideration of earthly things remain there.
The Rootless for those with no roots. As the name would suggest, if trees had no roots, there would not be any tree standing. The wind and running water would have pulled the last of them down. The insincere believers, especially when the name accompanied with low faith and was red in color. They absolutely harbored evil ulterior motives and harmful hidden agendas deep in their hearts.
Alicia (Faith: 100%): [O, Almighty God of Magic, please hear my last prayers. Please save us... I don’t care about myself, but please, please save my comrades. After what we did to make the world beautiful for several millennia at your command, this is not the ending we deserve!]
Elysia widened her eyes when the prayer came to her mind again. She could hear the desperation in Alicia’s voice, and it was at the top of the list! She could also faintly feel this believer was burning one’s life essence for this prayer, the last prayer!?
She tried to measure it, and Alicia’s location was super far. If she estimated it, Alicia was not in the Quadtria.
’Is she in Vrelenia or Earth? How can she become my follower, I mean believer? Her faith is so high... Never mind, I have to help her immediately!’ Elysia stretched her hand forward, about to open interdimensional teleportation to the desperate believer’s side.
However, Elena suddenly came out of the Elysian Realm and grasped Elysia’s arm. "Are you going to teleport there?"
"Mm, she is probably in Vrelenia or Earth. Our connection to those worlds was lost. Due to an unknown disturbance, we also couldn’t contact Erina through my soul mark. This is an opportunity. I can track her with this connection. Her faith is also so high." Elysia replied with a nod, continuing to open the teleportation tunnel.
"Okay, I’ll go with you. Ai, Zera, it would be best if you got out now. It’s dangerous if you stay in Ely’s shadow while we teleport to another planet through this tunnel." Elena pulled Ai and Zera out of Elysia’s shadow.
"Huh?" Ai blinked her eyes in surprise.
"Who is Alicia?" Zera looked right and left. She could sense no emergency, but Elysia was anxious about something.
"I don’t know either, but she conveyed her prayer to me by burning her life essence. Do you want to come with me? Let’s check it out. Hold my hands." Elysia spread her arms.
Elena and Rhea each held Elysia’s hand. The other Goddesses joined hands to follow Elysia through the teleportation tunnel.
*Zap*
Everyone disappeared from there, leaving Elysia’s divine avatar and Yuuki behind. They remained in a meditation position in a tent inside the bubble camp.
A few moments later, Amy returned and was surprised because she could see nobody around.
"Huh? Wait, what? Where did everyone go? I was only gone for a few seconds, and everyone left without telling me? So, they were waiting while I was far away. They want to do something secret without me?" Amy checked the surroundings with her divine vision.
Amy tried to find Goddess Elysia’s whereabouts, but she could sense nothing. Not even the trail could be detected. Everyone just disappeared. Unfortunately, she missed the ones inside the tent.
Megami opened her eyes and moved her finger, pulling the restless Amy into the tent. "Stay here. Everyone is visiting another planet on urgent business. They will be back in a few minutes."
"O-oh..." Amy was a bit surprised because she failed to detect Goddess Elysia’s divine avatar in the tent.
Megami then closed her eyes and returned to her meditation on a portable formation.
"..." Amy considered several things in mind. Goddess Elysia’s divine avatar was a bit cold, in contrast to Goddess Elysia or the other avatar. Thus, she decided to wait. She could always ask about the details when everyone returned later.
---
The Imperial Capital of the distant land, the heart of a vast and mighty Empire. A scene of glorious splendor as a grand celebration captured the essence of power and civilisation.
A particular event was being held at the city square, attended by thousands of people. This event was a stunning spectacle that left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to attend.
Dozens of thermal airships with a large screen broadcasted the grand event in the Imperial Capital City. The entire world watched what was happening.
Elysia’s group appeared in the sky, shrouded in invisibility. They looked around in astonishment.
"This isn’t Earth or Vrelenia..." Rhea waved her hand to feel the atmosphere, measuring the unfamiliar nature’s energy.
"We don’t need witches and magic!"
"Kill them!"
"Kill them all!"
"Death to witches!"
The exclamations of the people in the city square immediately attracted Elysia and her Goddess sisters’ attention. They frowned when they discovered the people below were watching an execution event.
Dozens of shabbily dressed women were hanged to death, and several others were beheaded. Such a display was usually shown to the public if it were major criminals being executed for the world’s good.
However, Elysia felt something different. She saw none of the ’criminals’ possessed evil or sinful aura worthy of the death penalty.
"Death to you, mankind." The last SS Rank witch cursed humanity before being executed on the spot.
"We finally arrived at the only remaining 1st generation witches. We took years of great effort to capture all of you." The Human Emperor stepped closer to the crucified witches.
"We’re God’s creation to guide mankind to the right path and help them in their time of need. After several millennia, humans grew, and in the end, you came to fear us." Alicia opened her bleeding eyes, responding with a sad smile.
"With the death of the 1st generation witches, the remaining witches will wither. We shall hunt them until they disappear completely. Humanity shall grow and develop further beyond magic comprehension with our technology. This world’s supreme ruler is humanity, not witches." The Human Emperor pointed his gun at the most dangerous witch’s head.
"Is that so... In the end, I failed. I hope we can still return to his side after our death." Alicia heaved a subtle sigh.
She used her last resort by burning her life essence to ask for help from the Almighty God, the one who created them, the witches, for this world. Unfortunately, it was the end for her and her comrades. The witches would be exterminated from this world by humanity they protected and helped for several millennia.
At the same time, Alicia’s black hair gradually turned white due to her dried life essence. She grew old quickly, but the eternal youth bestowed by God kept her young. Unfortunately, it was interpreted differently by humans.
"What did you just do?" The Human Emperor frowned, surprised at such a sudden change.
"You deserve a gruesome death!" The other 1st generation witch snapped with tears and anger.
She accumulated all hidden magical power within her body to cast a magical spell to escape with the others, but her magic dispersed one second later.
The Human Emperor looked aside. The Magical Photon Inhibitor was still active for the anti-magic zone. All the witches and magic became powerless before technology.
He then stepped closer to the most respected and sacred witch in history and tore her witch dress into pieces. "In the end, a witch without magic is an ordinary, helpless woman. Isn’t that right, the first witch, Alicia?"
"!!!" Alicia widened her eyes in shock.
"How dare you!" Another 1st generation witch cried out in fury. She tried to break free, but she could do nothing.
*Slap*
The Human Emperor slapped Alicia’s face real hard. He then aimed his gun right at her forehead. "Once your kind is expelled by the humans you were supposed to save, we will inherit the world you surrendered."
"..." Alicia remained silent.
Despite the tragedy for the witches, she could do nothing. She just closed her eyes and smiled to welcome her death. "I’m sorry, everyone. I shall follow you to return to our God’s side."
*Bang*
The hot bullet was fired. Alicia’s head snapped back from the impact. The nearby soldiers fired many bullets at the most dangerous witch to ensure she was really dead.
The Human Empress smirked and turned around. "Burn them alive. Let their screams of agony mark the end of the witch era and welcome the change of ownership of this world."
"Aaa..." The other 1st generation witches fell into despair. They had to see their kind executed before them, and their leader’s death tore down the last pillar of support of their resistance.
The red-hot flames immediately enveloped and burned their bodies. However, they could no longer feel the pain because what humans had done to the witches had made them die inside.
"Has God abandoned us ever and ever?" One of the witches looked up at the sky and closed her eyes to welcome her death.
"That’s unfortunate. Those who cannot appreciate magic are not worthy of magic. After the mercy of the world, you still chose to commit such a grave crime... Since humanity condemns magic, then I shall take it away."
A voice from the sky echoed. The clouds turned gold as if the sun was shining so close to the planet’s orbit. Several golden lightning bolts fell onto the land as if expressing God’s wrath.
At the same time, all the witches in the city square disappeared with a poof.
"It’s magic! Another SSS Rank witch ambush! Activate the anti-magic zone to the maximum level to cover the entire city!" The Human Emperor shouted out loud.
The anti-magic zone expanded rapidly.
*Rumble!* *Bang!*
The golden lightning struck the anti-magic force field and shattered it like fragile glass.
The palace and the surrounding buildings were struck by golden lightning, reducing them to ruins.
