Chapter 246: Your Duty is Over

Many nature spirits were roaming around the Imperial Capital City. They were looking restless. Some of them wanted to save the witches, but they couldn’t do it.

One of them forced its way into the city square, but it was soon reduced to particles and disappeared.

"Cease your futile attempt. Come here and tell us what happened." Rhea used her authority over nature to summon the surrounding nature spirits.

"!!!" The nature spirits were shocked but soon cheered happily as they knew the super powerful entity that could rule over nature and magic arrived.

More than a hundred spirits immediately flew into the sky to answer the powerful being’s call, unknown to humans because mankind could never see them.

After passing through a certain invisible barrier, they discovered the presence of several divine beings. All nature spirits immediately paid homage to the almighty ones.

Rhea stretched out her hand, asking a representative to report the situation.

The nature spirits looked at each other, and then they chose the sky spirit because it had the highest power among them.

The sky spirit immediately reported everything concisely to the almighty.

"Humans in this world are bad. The witches are God’s creation to guide and save humanity, but humans hunt the witches to rule this world as the supreme ruler.

They can’t use magic, but they have advanced technology, and they no longer need witches but please save the witches. That’s what they said." Rhea reported the summary to everyone.

Other nature spirits approved sky spirit’s reports. Everything would be fine now as the Gods would intervene.

"I see... Humanity is like an ocean. If a few ocean drops are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. However, the spirits have said it with full sincerity. The humans have also voiced it. They don’t need magic and are not worthy of magic." Elysia could hear the nature spirits’ plea. She also came here to answer someone’s prayer.

Elysia used her eye ability to briefly scan everyone’s status screen to find the person she was looking for.

Alicia was one of the witches who was about to be executed. One of the 1st generation witches and the most dangerous one based on what the Human Emperor said.

Alicia’s long black hair immediately turned white, and the Human Emperor tore her dress, showing her bare body for everyone to see. He then fired a shot at Alicia’s head from zero distance.

Alicia was knocked back, but the bullet shattered into dust, unnoticed by those humans. Elysia did the magic, bypassing the anti-magic zone as it wasn’t strong enough to dispel her divine magic. She then asked her Goddess sisters to secure those witches.

"That’s unfortunate. Those who cannot appreciate magic are not worthy of magic. After the mercy of the world, you still chose to commit such a grave crime... Since humanity condemns magic, then I shall take it away."

Elysia voiced her lofty declaration, echoing hundreds of miles away. She raised her hand, creating several golden lightning bolts and emitting a divine golden aura, illuminating the world in the glare and heat of the divine sun.

All the witches disappeared from the city square. Elysia dropped several golden lightning bolts to destroy the palace and the surrounding buildings.

The humans’ attention was diverted, and Nell rushed to grab one of the anti-magic devices. Such a large Magical Photon Inhibitor suddenly vanished with a poof.

Among the panicked city dwellers, a particular invisible fairy-like human Goddess swiftly flew away from the scene, afraid of being struck by Elysia’s golden lightning.

"We have secured all the witches." Lifa returned to Elysia’s side.

"Mm..." Ai nodded to Elysia.

"Haah... Phew, I almost got struck by lightning. Luckily, I’ve learned invisible magic, or those humans would have gone crazy and chased me after I kidnapped their precious anti-magic device." Nell breathed a sigh of relief.

"Such a tiny one and you kidnap that large generator instantly. Your speed has increased impressively." Elena gave a nod of approval to the little fairy.

"We might need it for Ely’s experiments on anti-magic." Nell crossed her arms and puffed out her chest.

"What are you going to do to them?" Fortuna just returned after handling the satellite and aircraft. However, Elysia was still holding several gold lightning bolts, and she was worried that Elysia would eradicate the humans down there.

"This is an extermination." Zera summoned Celestia, ready for the massacre.

"Let’s leave. We need to save the witches and revive the newly dead ones. We also need to survey this world." Elysia clenched her fist, and the golden lightning bolts vanished.

"Are you really going to drain the magical energy from this world? It can recover our magical energy reserve immensely, but no more magic to this world." Elena’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Yes, but we need to confirm a few things first. As they asked, this is the end of the era of witches and magic."

Elysia glanced at the humans in Imperial Capital City. The ambitious, black-hearted Human Emperor had already accumulated much bad karma. "Stop thinking about violence all the day. We’re leaving." Elena dragged Zera into the teleportation portal.

"..." The Human Emperor looked up at the sky with a frown. He opened his smartphone to see a report of the situation that had just occurred.

Elysia and her Goddess sisters gathered somewhere far from human civilization and surveillance. The remaining witches were still amazed at what had just happened.

One of the witches suddenly spoke with a hint of hatred and sadness when looking at her dead comrades. However, she ended up expressing her heart through sobs. "Are you the Gods? Why didn’t you save us sooner? All these years... of all the witches, only us and a small number remained..."

"They are not dead." Elysia answered simply while patting Alicia’s cheek. This witch was unconscious due to severe life essence drain, and she had to save this precious believer as soon as possible.

"Uh-huh? Is this the afterlife? Oo, my Almighty God... Our duty is over, and we finally return to your side." Alicia muttered in a dreamy expression, looking at the blurry figure shrouded in a golden aura before her with great peace and relief.

However, the pain and slight stinging in her eyes soon registered in her brain, making her realize she was still in the mortal world. A moment later, her blurry vision cleared, and all pain disappeared.

The graceful divine figure before her eyes immediately enchanted her, stunned by such a perfect, ethereal form of the holy light divinity.

"Yes, your duty is over, and you are now free. You have been healed. Rest for a moment." Elysia cut the chains that bound Alicia with just a finger movement.

The 1st generation witches other than Alicia only suffered some minor external injuries. Elysia cast the AoE healing spell to treat them, then went to the dead witches.

Elena, Ai, Lifa, Rhea, and Nell helped Elysia slap the spirit of the dead back into their respective bodies. Elysia and Nell did the healing so the dead could return perfectly to the world of living. Since those witches died just a few minutes ago, it was an easy task, only a matter of VIT and spiritual energy being consumed.

"..." Alicia and the other 1st generation witches gaped in amazement at such a divine occurrence.

They were incredibly amazed at how the dead were revived by a simple touch from the Gods.

Even the decapitated witches got their respective heads back in place. They were revived as if they had never encountered any incident.

The other witches thought something similar. The gentle black-haired Goddess was their creator, but they had no idea why their God’s appearance was no longer the same as their memories. Their God became the Goddess with ethereal divine beauty, and she was accompanied by several other Goddesses to answer their prayers.

But, well... their God was not categorized by gender, and their God could take any form he/she wanted.

’Hehe~ this is an investment. Let’s buy their faith to our side. After the vitality and spiritual energy we used, we will regain it by draining this world’s magical energy.’ Elena chuckled in her mind.

’We need to evacuate the nature spirits first. They have come into existence. Please let them live.’ Rhea stated her request.

’Mm, the Nature Realm and Firmament Realm are already quite full of nature spirits. Ely is reforming the Artificial Hell Realm. Let them live there. That realm has two separate dimensions and is large enough to be called a mini-world. ’Please wait a moment.’ Rhea asked for some information from the nature spirits. They immediately answered the question in detail. They even volunteered to help with anything.

’This world only has witches as authentic variables who can use magic. The seventeen witches were created directly by the Almighty God more than five thousand years ago.

The contracted spirits say that it is top secret, and no magic user can convey this to anyone. The younger witches are the chosen ones who inherited magic power from the world and elemental spirits or because the witches inherited a fragment of their power to their apprentices.

There are also the male witches, I mean wizards, but all of them are witch’s apprentices, not the world’s chosen ones.’ Rhea shared the information she just got from the knowledgeable nature spirit.

’All right, we shall summon them along with the nature spirits. This world will lose magic energy, and no witch will be born ever again. After sending the long-dead witches to the afterlife, we can go back and sleep.’ Elysia looked up at the bright blue sky.

She cast her magic, and the virtual screen emerged before everyone.
