My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 249: The Desire to be Revived

Chapter 249: The Desire to be Revived

The divine phenomenon of the disappearance of magic energy from the world was a moment of profound upheaval and transformation that sent shockwaves through the world.

Not even a fiber was left behind. The world’s core handed over everything to the almighty for greater causes.

Witches and wizards found their spells getting weaker and less effective. The spell that once summoned a powerful force now sputtered into weak sparks. It was as if the language of magic had lost its resonance.

Enchanted objects and artifacts, once prized for their extraordinary abilities, began to lose their mystical qualities.

The magical resources lost their brilliance and strength, leaving empty, fragile chunks.

Ancient mystical places like sacred groves, holy grounds, and magical springs lost their mystical properties.

Despite the world’s loss of magic, there was a glimmer of hope that it might one day return. However, it would depend on the world’s core in the far future.

In the absence of magic, technology would flourish further, just like what humanity wished for.

An hour had passed since the last magical fiber disappeared, and the world’s magical veins faded into invisibility, devoid of magic. Only the magical energy stored in one’s body remained.

Elysia brought everyone to a particular sacred forest that had lost its mystical aura. The world’s law gathered the deviated spirits of the dead in this place.

Some of them were possessed by a strong aura of evil and hatred, but most of them stayed behind in the world of living because they had some regrets in life.

"You stayed for too long as the lost spirit. Time corrupted you into an evil spirit. The world has lost its magical properties, and you will dissipate into nothingness in a few hours. It’s time for you to go to the afterlife. This flute melody will cleanse you and lead you to eternal peace." Elysia summoned her divine flute.

"Wait, please wait. Will you send all the spirits of the dead to the afterlife? Can you allow me to meet my master for a moment?" One of the wizards came forward to the Goddesses, voicing his desires full of worry.

"Hold their relics while I play the melody of purification. They will come to see you if they are still in the world." Elysia nodded in understanding.

Hearing that, the witches and wizards immediately took out several relics left by their dead comrades.

The restless wizard nodded in understanding and took out the magic staff belonging to his master.

Elysia began her musical performance by using sound waves to spread purification magic throughout the sacred forest.

Thousands of evil spirits stopped fluctuating to appreciate the beautiful flute melody. They slowly regained their clarity as the once living creatures.

Memories filled them like vibrations that reminded them of life, including their regrets. However, God had called them and granted them relief. It was time to go.

The evilness, hatred, and other negative energy dissipated from their soul essence. Their final destination was the afterlife. Thousands of spirits flew into the sky, expressing relief and gratitude to the divine being.

However, some spirits rush to fly to the source of the beautiful melody because of the spiritual calls.

"Oh! Long time no see, apprentice. I see. You inherited my magic staff well."

The first spirit that came was a red-haired graceful witch in a red robe.

"M-master?" The longing apprentice reached out his hand, but it passed through his master as his master was just an untouchable spirit.

The newly arrived spirits smiled. They immediately paid their respect to the Goddesses. They were all the long-dead witches and wizards.

Elysia looked up at the sky to ensure the last spirit of the dead in the sacred forest had gone into the afterlife, leaving these long-dead witches and wizards in the queue.

She stopped her flute melody and heaved a sigh of relief. The world’s law was so convenient to collect all the evil spirits who refused to go to the afterlife in one place. Her task was completed that easily.

"Raise your heads. Your comrades want to meet you." Elysia raised her hand to the spirits, who bowed respectfully to her, casting a spell so they wouldn’t dissipate easily.

After that, she turned around to gather with her Goddess sisters. They received tremendous gains in their visit to the Ifiqar World. They also had to give those witches and wizards time to talk to the spirits of the dead.

---

While Elysia’s group calculated their gains, Alicia briefly narrated what had just happened to the spirits of the dead.

The dead witches were overjoyed because humanity finally would receive a tribulation. Since the divine beings would punish those greedy humans, they were no longer thinking about those humans because they didn’t care.

"Master Medea, our God has graced her presence upon us. Do you wish to be revived?" The lost apprentice grasped his master’s spiritual hand as if he could feel it. He was determined about something but didn’t know whether his master would accept it.

"Silly apprentice... It has been quite some time since my death. Our God is willing to revive those who have just died, but my body has been crushed back into the earth." Medea shook her head and sighed.

"I will beg for it to our God. Her divine grace can do it. There must be a way to bring you back to life. Please don’t leave me..." The apprentice was unwilling to see his master go.

"Humanity deserves it, but I’m dead. I will go to heaven soon. See ya!" Ruri, one of the 1st generation witches, waved her hand to her sisters.

She was about to go to the afterlife, but Alicia grasped her feet tightly.

"Where will you go? Anyone can go, but not you. Our Creator God is already here, and our existence is there to serve Her." Alicia pulled Ruri back.

"Huh? Our Creator God, but they are Goddesses, the garden of ethereal divine beauties. I thought they were just benevolent Goddesses from Heaven. May I know who our Creator God is?" Ruri was about to protest to her eldest sister, but the truth intrigued her.

"The one in the center. Our Creator God may no longer look the same because she is currently taking the form of a Divine Goddess. We will be taken to another world, the higher plane. We will help you to be revived." Alicia pointed to someone in the Goddesses group.

That statement made the other dead witches and wizards extremely interested. They did not expect their God would actually return.

"But, why doesn’t our God bring us back to life even though she can do it easily with just a flick of her fingers?" One of the dead witches asked.

"It may be related to restrictions on life and death. Several rules and conditions must be met. I will not forbid you from going to the afterlife, but there is a way to revive you if you follow us to the other world." Alicia grasped her hand.

She seemed to understand why only the dead witches and wizards were summoned here while the other spirits of the dead had gone into the afterlife.

"Then, let’s ask about the requirements. The other world, the higher plane... I want to visit it too!" Ruri muttered softly. She changed her decision and felt that life was much more amazing, especially in a new world with their God by their side.

"Then, let’s ask for enlightenment." The motivated apprentice proposed an idea. He received the most votes and approval. Therefore, he led everyone to face the Almighty God.

"Your apprentice truly loves you and wants you to be revived. If you go, he will start another great villain arc." Ruri nudged Medea’s arm before following her comrade sisters to ask their God about the revival requirements.

---

Elysia was having a brief discussion with her Goddess sisters. Yet, the witches and wizards suddenly knelt before her and begged to be enlightened about the requirements for revival.

"..." Elysia glanced at her Goddess sisters once, but no one dared speak for her. They entrusted the decision to her.

"You refuse to go to the afterlife? However, the price for revival is expensive, especially if you’re long dead. The dead who stay in the world of living for more than a month is already a violation. Your case requires reforming a new body, and you must fulfil these requirements."

Elysia explained a little. Truth be told, she could fulfill their wish, but she was unwilling to grant their desire easily. They had to make some effort and go through difficulties first.

’Oh~ This might work. They will focus on the requirements and soon forget their hatred of humanity. Well, they won’t possibly be at peace with humans again, though.’ Elena got an idea.

’Is that so? Then, I will share the requirements with peace of mind. It’s so expensive, and all the materials are difficult to get.’ Elysia thought about it and wrote something on paper before giving it to Alicia.

"???" Alicia had a lot of question marks in her head because she couldn’t even fathom any of the requirements on that list.

"Those are the requirements and materials you need to revive one person. You can find them in the higher plane with some effort and luck. Take this to ensure you can stay in the world of living." Elysia then distributed an artifact ring to the thirty-one spirits of the dead.

Once the matter was done, Elysia bid her farewell to the world’s core.

The nature spirits went to the renovated Artificial Hell Realm, helping the Artificial Hell Realm Core to reform it.

Since all witches and wizards wished to go to another world, she would take them back to the Terra World, Quadtria.
