My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 282: The Missing Sister

Chapter 282: The Missing Sister

"Miss, is this really the place you want to visit?" One of the maidservants felt anxious and somewhat afraid.

This slope area was quiet and scary. Moreover, several strange, frightening aura could be felt coming from all directions.

Thick snow covered the terrain. Almost nothing was visible despite the snow, increasing the possible threat hidden beneath this slope region.

"Young miss, we should probably head back soon. We are only low servants at the 4th Rank, and can’t protect you well. The Blood Moon Sovereign will execute us on the spot if you’re injured..." The other maidservants nodded in agreement.

She had no idea what the Blood Moon Saintess had in mind, but they had slipped out quietly without anyone knowing right before lunchtime.

"It’s fine. Not even my royal father’s arch-enemies can harm me easily." Mingyue replied with absolute confidence.

Apart from her protection as the Blood Moon Saintess and the treasured princess, she was also blessed with the Sacred Sakura Holy Land’s life-saving treasures given by Miko.

The two maidservants looked at each other with helpless expressions. They would obey their young miss even though her request was unreasonable. However, their young miss wished to take a stroll and asked them to accompany her. Yet, they went to a dangerous place instead!

The journey even took several hours here, and it was now dusk. They believed the elders already discovered Saintes Minyue’s disappearance. By the time they returned, they would obviously be punished.

The two servants shook their heads in fear of the punishment that awaited them, but they couldn’t refuse their young miss either.

"Fret not. You have accompanied me since I was a baby. As long as you remain loyal to me, then I will guarantee that you are safe under my protection. Not even my royal father will touch you." Mingyue adjusted her veil and tried to reassure her trusted maidservants.

Both maidservants felt relieved. One of them then asked curiously. "We understand. Then, may we know what you want to look for in this region, young miss? Is there something you want to get here?"

"I’m looking for someone." Mingyue looked forward again, trying to find a particular hill and waterfall mentioned by the Sacred Sakura Goddess.

"And who could that possibly be?"

"My missing eldest sister. She’s supposed to be somewhere around here." Mingyue responded with an almost inaudible voice.

However, the two maidservants could hear it well. They were both surprised, but they soon regained their composure and glanced at each other.

While the saintess was unaware, they sent a signal to the sect because they had been notified about the Blood Empress Feng Xue’s betrayal.

The treasured princess went to look for the missing sister, but they couldn’t bear the consequences because it was too dangerous.

However, they still had no idea why their young miss was so sure the Blood Empress was somewhere in this region.

---

A moment later, the news reached the Blood Moon Sovereign’s ears. His treasured youngest daughter went secretly somewhere to look for his traitorous eldest daughter.

"Has she found ’her’ whereabouts yet? Where is she now?" The Blood Moon Sovereign asked from behind the bamboo curtain covering his regal blood throne.

"Not yet, Your Majesty. Saintess Mingyue is still on her way. She is currently circling around the Buxtonas Slopes. Saintess Mingyue hid her aura, but her servants, Deng Yi and Du Qiu leaked her location regularly." The prime minister knelt down.

"She probably knows more than I thought. Send the Demon King Slayer Squad. Follow Mingyue and bring that traitorous daughter of mine back, no matter whether she is dead or alive." The Blood Moon Sovereign frowned and let out a subtle irritated growl under his words.

"At your command!" The prime minister bowed and hurried away to carry out the order.

The throne hall returned to serenity, but the Blood Moon Sovereign was still filled with fury.

"You’ve been in a power struggle for long, and yet, someone framed you and ruined you. You should go through the obstacles and impediment crisis to strengthen your foundation, and yet, who would have thought you would choose to betray me and steal what you shouldn’t touch." The Blood Moon Sovereign gripped the scarlet jade box in his hand tightly, and it crumbled into dust.

"Feng Xue... I gave you opportunities, but, in the end... the demoness will always betray. Not her, and not you. Then, don’t blame me for being ruthless." The Blood Moon Sovereign vanished into the blood mist.

Mingyue was unaware that her trusted maidservants had sold her out. She had been exposed, and powerful troops sent by her father were heading towards her location.

---

Several kilometers behind the clouds, Xentia’s spaceship hovered in standby position.

Miko, Sylvia, and Gabriella had flown down to intervene if necessary. As for the others, some of them gathered on the deck to watch the events that would unfold.

"Let things unfold." Sylvia held Miko’s shoulder from behind.

"Okay..." Miko nodded obediently. She stared at a particular slope, the third hill from the direction of the Scarlet Domain Secret Realm. Mingyue finally found the secret cave entrance behind the waterfall.

Seeing that, Sylvia controlled her blood cloud to land. Her group of three then followed Mingyue in secret.

---

"..." Mingyue looked right and left warily. She also used her spiritual sense to see what might await her deep in the cave.

She passed several passages and cave chambers, but she had yet to encounter anything apart from a few small animals.

The atmosphere became dark, damp, and dreadful. A hot aura blew from the innermost cave chamber, giving a goosebumps sensation.

The two maidservants were so scared and wanted to immediately run from there, but they couldn’t force their young miss to leave even though they wanted to. Thus, they could only follow their young miss even though they might not come out alive.

They didn’t even dare utter anything through their mouths for fear of awakening the terrifying monster that might reside there.

*Swoosh* *Swoosh*

Several blood-red lightning bolts shot out extremely quick, ambushing Mingyue’s group from the blind spot.

However, those attacks were aimed at nobody, regardless of the apparent killing intent.

"Leave."

A girl’s voice echoed subtly from somewhere, obscuring her exact location.

"This voice... You are Ling Guang! One of my eldest sister’s personal maids. Sister Ling Guang, please allow me to meet my eldest sister!" Mingyue felt a little doubtful because the voice was faint, but she believed in her hunch and heart.

"Leave now, or we won’t be polite."

Another cold response was thrown, and a red dagger shot right beside Mingyue’s head, almost grazing her cheek.

"I came secretly. No one knows about this. My eldest sister has gone missing for reasons unknown to me, but I am her ally. Blood Moon Pavilion won’t make things difficult for you. I have come as my sister Feng Xue’s little sister. Please let me meet her." Mingyue tried to bargain.

She could feel her eldest sister’s personal maids would really harm her if she couldn’t gain their trust now.

"Then how can you find our hideout? Lady Feng Xue has dug out her blood moon essence from her heart. Not even the Blood Moon Sovereign can find us."

An intimidating response echoed, full of suspicion.

"That’s because the Sacred Sakura Holy Land helped me. Saintess Miko is my best friend. She asked the Sacred Sakura Goddess, and I got my eldest sister’s location from Her Divine Grace. Please believe me!" Mingyue raised her hands, indicating she was harmless and came in peace.

"!?" The servant girls around the innermost cave chamber were incredibly shocked.

They noticed Feng Mingyue’s arrival shortly after the little trap gave a sign that someone had entered this place. They still couldn’t let go of their guard against anyone, including this treasured princess, because of their master’s condition.

Regardless of anything, they had to escape to another hideout after chasing Mingyue away. Yet! They never expected Mingyue to receive help from the Sacred Sakura, or rather, from the Sacred Sakura’s divine entity!

"Let them pass. You’ll stay safe, at least, for now. We may help you out of this predicament." Miko called out among Feng Xue’s personal servants.

"E-eh!?"

"Who?"

"Why did you suddenly appear among us!?"

Feng Xue’s servants were incredibly shocked, almost to the point where their hearts stopped beating for a second. They failed to realize the shrine priestess’ presence until just now.

They brandished their weapons by reflex, but a particular demoness smacked their hands.

"We can defeat you instantly without you realizing how it happened. Our intentions are clear, so calm yourself down." Sylvia stated her threat bluntly. Her 10th Rank aura also suppressed everyone’s battle intents.

"Wait, she is Saintess Miko. She can appear and disappear mysteriously. Since Miss Feng Mingyue is here, she can teleport here too." One of the servants stepped forward, preventing her fellow sisters from offending these powerhouses.

For many reasons, she felt relieved that Sacred Sakura’s people were here, especially Saintess Miko. In this way, their lady might survive in the safest possible shelter.

"Miko~! I didn’t know you would come here too." Fengyue turned on the lighting crystal without hesitation and approached her best friend.

"Hi, that’s because your chances of survival are low here, especially your eldest sister." Miko heaved a subtle sigh.

"E-eh? Is it that dangerous? What actually happened? You haven’t told me the details of how bad the situation is." Mingyue widened her eyes in shock.

"Lady Feng Xue is inside. Her situation is grave, also, stay behind me." Miko grabbed Mingyue’s arm and walked into the innermost cave chamber.

"..." Feng Xue’s servants looked at each other before following the saintesses.

At the dead-end corner of the deepest chamber, a glowing red ’someone’ curled up like a depressed girl, frightened by something.

"You shouldn’t have come here. Please leave. Don’t look at me. I don’t want you to see me like this, and I don’t want to see you in my current state..." Feng Xue muttered in a almost audible voice, but her tone resembled someone suppressing a solid anguish. She endured a deep pain.

"El-eldest sister... What, what happened to you?" Mingyue couldn’t see her eldest sister’s current state very well, but she could feel her eldest sister was suffering.
