Chapter 368: Golden Diva’s Soulmate?

Since the battle was over, the Superclass Mothership returned to the sea surface. It only suffered minor external damage, but the overall damage and casualties sustained by the entire fleet were heavy.

More than fifty warriors died at sea, more than two hundred were seriously injured, more than three hundred suffered minor injuries, and two dozen were missing in action. Not to mention, three dozen warships were destroyed or seriously damaged.

"It’s the rumour about... Hm, she will marry someone resistant to her golden touch." The other warrior spilled the bean.

"Huh? Is that the fcking real? Then, no wonder there are so many pursuers, including her bodyguards, who were hand-picked by WUF. She is a stunning beauty, rich, and powerful. I don’t know whether it is that guy’s luck or misfortune..."

"The eight elite bodyguards on her side are the elites sent by WUF to protect her and win her heart. I heard they are also partially immune to her golden touch, but I don’t know the truth."

"They came with a strange jet. I heard it’s an advanced flying pancake with an anti-detection system. Let’s check it out."

Captain Lucas chatted with his comrades while going down the runway. They passed some elite teams from other countries, but each team minded their own business.

The nearby Japan’s elite team had just returned and caught the wind. They were shocked when they heard that one of their top-class espers was seriously injured.

"Erina-sama is seriously injured!? Where is she now?" The captain of Japan’s elite team grabbed the nearby soldier’s collar.

"Erina-sama and the mysterious expert’s team are in the 1st hospital facility." The soldier immediately answered.

"Let’s go to check Erina-sama’s condition, Captain Mike. Instructor Yufu must be there already." The nearby female warrior grabbed her captain’s arm and rushed inside.

"Hey, slow down, Yuna." Captain Mike was dragged away.

Meanwhile, Heracles had just blown off some steam to the nearby warriors and soldiers. Erina’s eight bodyguards even had to suffer because they needed to accompany the irritated muscle head for a few blows before they could leave.

"Tch, weak kittens, and they still call themselves elite warriors." Heracles snorted as he looked at the warriors flying away in a hurry.

He then looked at the green-liquid vial in his hand. It was an unknown medicine, but that person gifted it to him, saying it could heal his wounds.

"Let’s check it out." Heracles couldn’t sense any bad intentions from El, and that green liquid had no poisonous aura. Thus, he opened the vial and poured it into his newly reattached arm.

The effect could be seen with the naked eye. The wet wound gradually began to heal rapidly, and his arm returned to its prime condition as it had never been cut before. Not even the scars could be seen.

"Ho-ho~ I already expected it! El is an interesting person. But he is taking care of his injured girl now. We shall meet again another time then." Heracles laughed out loud.

He then jumped high into the sky, going to lead the nearby warships to bring home the super prey. The SSS-Class monsters would be worth a huge fortune and could be used to make many top-tier weapons to strengthen humanity’s army.

In the 1st hospital facility, Erina had just entered the advanced diagnostic medical scanner.

"What’s the situation, doctor?" Erina asked in a weak voice.

"Please forgive me for saying it, Erina-sama. However, you suffered major fractures and are at risk of permanent disability. You also suffered serious internal injuries. Even if you recover, you can’t return to your peak performance. I advise you to receive intensive care at World Unity Force’s best hospital in New York." The chief doctor read the scan report with a grave expression.

"Is that so... I want to go home. Perhaps God wants me to retire." Erina muttered in sorrow like she had lost everything.

However, her heart rejoiced because she could get away with this situation. Even though her condition looked grave, she was actually super healthy. She would fully recover in two days, thanks to Elysia’s emergency help. Elysia had it planned for her!

"I am sorry for your situation, Erina-sama. Perhaps that is the best for you. You deserve the best life after your relentless efforts during four years of service to protect humanity. I will prepare the medical report for your retirement document." The chief doctor rushed to print Erina’s medical report.

Elysia approached Erina with a wink, and Erina replied with a meek nod.

"Thank you, chief doctor. I will take my girl home and take good care of her. After years of struggle on the battlefield, she indeed deserves the best life." Elysia received the medical report and handed it over to Elena.

After that, she carried Erina away like a princess.

The chief doctor and other doctors were shocked once again. Someone thoroughly immune to Erina’s golden touch still made them doubt it was real, but it was true! Her bandages and clothes had even become gold fibre cloth. Nevertheless, this masked guy was super fine despite carrying Erina in his arms!

"Do you need a wheelchair, sir?" The nearby nurse brought a wheelchair with a concerned gaze. It would be the military’s great loss because the 9th strongest esper had no choice but to retire early.

Elysia was just about to receive the wheelchair because it was free. However, several people suddenly entered the room in a hurry.

The robust lady with a big stature opened the steel door angrily, scolding the bespectacled man beside her. "Are you saying that Erina-sama cannot be saved? Is this what the WUF can do after harming our greatest military force!? It was you Americans who urged us to help you deal with the apocalypse-level threat near your region!"

"Miss Erina ignored her safety protocols and jumped into the battlefield on her own accord. She fought against an SSS-Class supermonster and was seriously injured. Do you think we are planning to harm one of humanity’s greatest military assets, Instructor Yufu? Please be more mindful of your words." America’s military officer argued.

"Instructor Yufu, stop that. Don’t smear my efforts and sacrifices. This is not about state affairs. We cannot afford those apocalyptic monsters to destroy Superclass Mothership and approach further toward human civilization in the upper sphere. New Jersey is one of the areas that must never be taken over by monsters." Erina looked aside, muttering weakly to the angry lady.

"Erina-sama... please forgive me for being unable to save you." Instructor Yufu could see the desperate gaze of someone helpless before a cruel fate.

She was a retired warrior herself. Thus, she knew very well what Erina was feeling.

They were there to help the WUF and America eradicate the apocalypse-level threat. Yet, it was two SSS-Class super monsters and their sea monster armies.

One survived the ultimate beam of doom, but the other one aimed straight at the Superclass Mothership. It disrupted the entire formation and led to great losses.

However, Japan suffered tremendous blows over this incident and would weaken greatly. A quarter of the fleet in this mission were Minamoto Family’s warships, and half had already been destroyed. And then, their strongest esper ended up seriously injured!

Instructor Yufu could see Erina wrapped in bandages like a golden mummy and unable to move. Erina also received a high risk of permanent disability.

It took everyone a few seconds to realize that Erina was in someone’s arms, being carried like a princess.

"You are?" Instructor Yufu looked at the masked man’s face and asked.

"He is El, my soulmate. Order all the fleet to return. We will go home." Erina stated her order.

"W-what!?" Instructor Yufu was shocked beyond belief.

"We will fly straight to Japan. I’ll also retire from the military. Please convey my farewell to the fleet admiral and other admirals, as I will not see them." Erina raised her hand in farewell.

After that, she looked into Elysia’s eyes. It was time for them to go.

Everyone was still shocked by Erina’s declaration. The rumours proved to be true. Someone who could handle her golden touch would become her destined soulmate!

Elysia was clueless about that rumour and had no idea why Erina introduced her as the soulmate. Yet, it might be justified because Erina was her person. She shrugged and put Erina in a wheelchair before leaving the hospital facility.

By the time everyone regained their composure, Erina and the mysterious team had already left.

Everyone failed to notice that Erina had just waved her hand, even though her hand should still be paralyzed due to a major fracture.

That black-robed guy was accompanied by two masked beauties, but they took Erina away!

Realizing this, Instructor Yufu and other military officers rushed after the mysterious team.
